[SPOILERS] Legacy of the First Blade DLC 1.2 - Production Update
Hey everyone,
After hearing player feedback and discussing within the development team we are making changes to a cutscene and some dialogue in Shadow Heritage to better reflect the nature of the relationship for players selecting a non-romantic storyline. These changes, along with renaming a trophy/achievement, are being made now and will be implemented in an upcoming patch.
We’ve also been carefully looking at the next episode, Bloodline, to ensure the paths that players experience mirror the choices they make in game.
Legacy of the First Blade DLC - A message from Creative Director Jonathan Dumont
Hey everyone,
In the following lines you'll find a message from Assassin's Creed Odyssey's Creative Director Jonathan Dumont -
Reading through player responses of our new DLC for Legacy of the First Blade, Shadow Heritage, we want to extend an apology to players disappointed by a relationship your character partakes in. The intention of this story was to explain how your character’s bloodline has a lasting impact on the Assassins, but looking through your responses it is clear that we missed the mark.
Alexios/Kassandra realizing their own mortality and the sacrifice Leonidas and Myrrine made before them to keep their legacy alive, felt the desire and duty to preserve their important lineage. Our goal was to let players choose between a utilitarian view of ensuring your bloodline lived on or forming a romantic relationship. We attempted to distinguish between the two but could have done this more carefully as we were walking a narrow line between role-play choices and story, and the clarity and motivation for this decision was poorly executed. As you continue the adventure in next episode Bloodline, please know that you will not have to engage in a lasting romantic relationship if you do not desire to.
We have read your responses online and taken them to heart. This has been a learning experience for us. Understanding how attached you feel to your Kassandra and your Alexios is humbling and knowing we let you down is not something we take lightly. We’ll work to do better and make sure the element of player choice in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey carries through our DLC content so you can stay true to the character you have embodied throughout.

Warning: This article may contain spoilers.
The Legacy of the First Blade – Episode 2: Shadow Heritage
Continuing the story arc from the first episode, Hunted, in the second instalment you get to investigate a blockade initiated by the Order of the Ancients around the port city in Achaia.
You'll discover a group of stranded citizens whose lives are being threatened by a fierce naval commander, the Tempest, who is in charge of the blockade.
Steal the Tempest's top secret weapon, help the citizens escape, and destroy the blockade once and for all...with your ship! An epic maritime battle awaits you at the Aegean Sea.
Shadow Heritage will be available starting January 15. To start Episode 2 you need to complete the first episode, Hunted, complete the Naxos questline in Chapter 7 of the main story, and be at least level 28.
THE LOST TALES OF GREECE - DAUGHTERS OF LALAIA & POET'S LEGACY
DAUGHTER OF LALAIA
In Daughters of Lalaia, you will go to a village where the men have left for battle, leaving the townspeople and their children defenseless. Responding to their request, you'll train them to prepare for incoming danger.
This is no easy task, as you will be confronted with choices that will determine the survival of the village.
To get started, travel to the Phokis Region after reaching Chapter 5 of the main story path. The first quest is called A Gathering Storm, and we recommend that you are at least level 13.
POET'S LEGACY
In Poet's Legacy, you'll meet Greece's most scandalous poet. During this questline you'll learn that she isn't quite what she seems as you become increasingly involved in her risqué performances.
To get started, reach Chapter 5 of the main story and make your way to the Boetia region. The first quest is called Praxilla's Admirer and we recommend that you're at least level 34.
CYCLOPS – ARGES
Behold, the mighty Arges will soon rise! Face the legendary Cyclops known as the Bright One, and get your chance to win his legendary weapon, the Hammer of Hephaistos.
He resides on a Volcanic Island in the Angry Caldera of Arges which you can fast travel to with the additional markers added to the map in the 1.1.1 Title Update.
This is an endgame challenge, so we recommend that you are at least Level 50 when attempting to face Arges.
UBISOFT CLUB REWARD– AYA
We're happy to announce that Aya from Assassin's Creed Origins will be joining the ranks of your Adrestia as Legacy Lieutenant!
Keep an eye on the Ubisoft Club social pages later this month to ensure you don't miss the arrival of the Egyptian Assassin.
NEW ITEMS
With Dionysos' Character Pack you'll become the most stylish misthios, dressed to impress for any occasion. The Dionysos Character pack contains a gear set, mount, and a legendary dagger.
Later this month you'll be able to get your hands on the Athena Character and Naval Pack. Like Phidias's grand statue of Athena, this pack really impresses a crowd.
We continue our efforts to provide the best possible experience to you by adding additional features to the game, some of which we've detailed below.
NEW MERCENARY TIERS
Many of you already proved yourself victorious over dozens of Mercenaries and successfully claimed the prize for fighting your way to the top.
Are you ready to defend your title? Good! Two more tiers have been added to the Mercenary Ladder, which will reward you with new benefits worthy of a demigod...if you can conquer them!
If you'd like to pay him a visit, Hephaistos's Workshop can be found in the Myson Cave in the Malis region. Should you be in an emergency-engraving kind of situation, you can fast travel to the nearby Ruins of Artemis location.
As Markos always says "Everybody benefits!"
LEVEL SCALING
One of the most community-requested features since launch is coming this month. With the next update you will be able to adapt enemy scaling settings to your preferences.

As soon as the update hits on January 10, visit the options menu and find the Level Scaling setting. From there you'll be able to customize how drastically the enemies will scale to your level.
<*>Default– Content will be set according to selected difficulty level
<*>Heavy – Content will stay at your level.
<*>Medium – Content is around two levels below your level.
<*>Light – Content is around four levels below your level.

Please bear in mind that this option won't be available in Nightmare Difficulty Mode in order to maintain that mode's challenging nature.

Introducing the Mastery Levels System
Misthios, rejoice! We heard your Ability Point woes, and we have an answer to them. We're excited to introduce the Mastery Levels System – the best way to upgrade your character later in the game. This new system will be included in the upcoming game update (1.1.1) this week. Let's dive into it, shall we?
Become the Best Misthios in Greece

The Mastery Levels System is a new way to upgrade your character once you reach Level 50. You have the choice to spend your Ability Points in the new Mastery Levels that will help you sharpen your Hunter, Warrior, and Assassin Abilities even further by increasing their stats.
The Choice Is Yours

For each Ability Tree, you can improve your damage, resistance, health, armor, adrenaline, and much more. These passive bonuses stack on top of your character build, as well as your weapons and gear.
GENERAL FAQS
How many Mastery Levels are there in total, and how much does it cost?
There are 72 Mastery Levels to choose from, and each Mastery Level can be upgraded 20 times. Each upgrade costs 1 Ability Point.
So, for example, the Mastery for Damage with Overpower Abilities starts at +1%, and can go up to +10% after spending all 20 Ability Points for it.
Does it upgrade existing engravings or work separately?
While the Master Levels don't upgrade engravings directly, they work together to make you even more powerful.
Can you reset the Mastery Levels?
Yes, and you can reset them independently from your Abilities for a handful of drachmae.

This Month in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – November 2018
We hope you are enjoying your journey across Ancient Greece. A lot of new content and game feature additions are on the horizon, and we're excited to share what we have in store this November!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXSoIf2XFB8
Story Content
New story content will be coming this month as we kick off the Lost Tales of Greece series. These are free questlines that will feature familiar faces and new characters from the world of Assassin's Creed® Odyssey.
Our first questline, The Show Must Go On, will bring you back to the Battle of 300 where you'll step into the shoes of an actor playing King Leonidas. It's up to you whether to stick to the script... or to adapt it to your liking.
The second Lost Tale of Greece, Divine Intervention, will have you meet a mysterious woman who will test your qualities through several divine trials!
The Lost Tales of Greece questlines will appear automatically in the world, marked as yellow side quests, once you have reached Episode 5 in the game. There will be no time limit to tackle these questlines, so feel free to play them at any time.
Completing each Lost Tale of Greece will allow you to unlock new rewards. And as for the other stories of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, be sure to save before you play them, as you may want to check out the different outcomes depending on your choices!
Epic Events
New Epic Events will appear regularly in the game: either as an Epic Mercenary or an Epic Ship that you will be tasked to hunt down. Defeating those challenging adversaries will reward you not only with Orichalcum to use at the Oikos of the Olympians merchant, but also with a new ship design or a new piece of equipment!
Note that these challenges are for players who have progressed to level 30 or above.
For more information on Epic Live events, check out our article!
New Items
Two new exclusive Packs are coming this month. The Odysseus Pack will include a new gear set, a new mount, and a new weapon. The Odysseus Naval Pack will contain a new ship design, a new crew theme, and a new figurehead for the front of your ship.
All of these items will be simultaneously available in the Store and at the Oikos of the Olympians. Keep an eye out for them near the end of November!
Reminder: The underworld-themed items we released a couple of days ago are already unlockable at the Oikos of the Olympians.
Mythical Creature
A new Mythical Creature, Steropes the Cyclops, will be waiting for you in his lair on November 13. A new quest named The Lightning Bringer will appear in your quest log and will take you to the one-eyed monster.
Defeating the Cyclops will be a high-level challenge, and should you manage to succeed you will be rewarded with a Legendary Bow. There will be no time limit, so prepare properly and take it down at your own pace!
New Game Features
Thanks to your feedback, we updated the game with new features that will help you have the best experience possible in Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
CUSTOMIZATION:
We are excited to share that in an upcoming title update, we will add a visual customization system that allows you to add a visual layer on top of your gear. This will will allow you to combine the stats of one item and the appearance of another into the same slot. So you won't have to decide between having good stats and looking good in-game!
LEVEL CAP:
Later this month we will increase the level cap by no less than 20 levels. This will be available for all players. For our players who have reached level 50, the XP earned before the level cap update will be rewarded with new ability points.
AUTO-CRAFTING ARROW:
As we mentioned earlier on our official Twitter account, we added a new feature to the game that allows players to auto-craft regular arrows when enough resources are available.
GAMEPAD CUSTOMIZATION:
Accessibility for our players has always been an important topic for Assassin's Creed. This is why gamepad customization is now available to all players on all platforms. You can learn more about accessibility in Assassin's Creed in our latest interview with Jonathan Bedard here!
GEAR UPGRADES:
