To access Gauntlet of the Stars, you will need to progress until you have defeated the final boss of the main story or anytime in NG+ once you can enter the Shelter. Interact with the Gryphon statue in the Shelter to open up the menu and select the challenge.

Revisiting the Art and Design of Asterigos: Curse of the Stars
Greetings, brave warriors of the Northwind Legion!
We are excited to participate in this year’s ‘Art of Indies’ showcase. As it follows from the event's name, today, we’d like to revisit some of the artwork and designs we created when developing Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.
Level and movement design
In Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, you explore the complex City of Aphes, featuring numerous unique districts inhabited by various vile creatures. It was essential to us to make your city exploration seamless and exciting. That's why we've approached the level design with extra attention.

In the early design phase, we brainstormed many possibilities for how our character could move through the level. How fast should she be, can she dash or not, what kind of obstacles will there be and which of them can be interactable? It's a fun yet not-so-easy process.
The best way to determine all of this is to test how it feels in-game, including flips through the walls, climbing, sliding, or wading through water. Even jumping was a hot topic within the team! Here are a couple of sketches we did during our brainstorming.

The creation of Hilda from concept to Hero
When you first enter the City of Aphes, you’ll quickly realise that you’re an outsider. Everything Hilda identifies with, from her clothes to weapons, differs from the sophisticated technology and society of Aphes.
Originally, Hilda was going to be a blonde-haired protagonist. In the end, to emphasize the contrast between herself and the people of Aphes, Hilda’s hair was made red, and her wardrobe inspired by Celtic designs.
Hilda has gone through several phases of transformation to become the red-haired warrior you see today in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.
When we decided to draw inspiration from the culture and history of ancient Rome and classical Greece, we delved into the myths and legends of both periods.
There are many fabled and epic creatures in folklore that we wanted to add to the game. However, it was extremely important to us that these creatures fit into our story and were truly part of the world and not just copied from other settings. We wanted players to see familiar-looking monsters when they encountered them while at the same time providing a unique experience.
Each creature is placed into a common background of the 'cult' they belong to. From this, the art team formed the art style of the creatures that fit with the scenes and other characters. Our artists have added magical runes and tattoos to cultists' bodies so that these characters better fit the overall image of the faction they represent and the narrative.
We love the world we created, from brainstorming to story writing, concepts, modelling, texturing, adding animations and VFX, and eventually AI and skill designing. Each of these elements cultivates the hard work of many artists and departments.
We hope that you enjoyed exploring the world of Asterigos: Curse of the Stars as much as we enjoyed designing it!
The adventurer’s guide to accessing new content in the Call of the Paragons DLC
We understand that some players are having difficulties finding portals to Phantasma. So today, we are sharing a few tips on accessing the new content in the DLC and what you need to do to open the coveted portals.
How to access Phantasma?
Phantasma is a dangerous realm accessible only to the most experienced warriors. Therefore you must first unlock and obtain a few things during the main story progression and complete the game to activate the portals leading to the Paragon trials.
Teleportation
First, you need to unlock the ability to teleport between conduits. Simply play through the main story, complete Phalan Academy, Arges Bazaar and Stella Mine investigations and return to Minerva in the Shelter.
Tool Bags
You must also find two tool bags and return them to Vulcane in the Shelter. Doing this will unlock her future ability to craft special weapons for you. Look for these bags in Arges Bazaar and Stella Mine.
After completing these steps and finishing the main storyline, the mysterious shrines you came across whilst exploring the city will become active.
Upgrade your weapons
Don’t forget that Vulcane can enhance your weapons with powerful modifications. Simply talk to her in the Shelter, select ‘Mods’, choose the desired weapon, and gather enough Essence of the Paragons from Phantasma to make it happen!
Paragon Trials - Locations
The following part will contain spoilers, so if you don’t want to know the shrine locations and want to explore the world yourself, please do not read further.
In total, seven shrines lead to the Paragon Trials. Here’s how and where you can find them.
Black Streets
Boss: Alkinoos ‘The trials shrine in Black Streets can be found inside the building next to the Saintess.’
Teleport to Inner City Rampant and exit towards the bridge in the Ghetto.
You’ll find the Trials shrine in the building to the left after you cross the bridge.
Arges Bazaar
Boss: Hippocrates ‘The trials shrine in Arges Bazaar can be found inside the building with the refugees after receiving the Ice Enchantite from the Priest of the Three.’
Teleport to Guardian Shrine.
Trials shrine can be found right next to the conduit.
Phalan Academy
Boss: Phillipos ‘The trials shrine at Phalan Academy is inside the guarded building in the area where you first met with Otto’
Teleport to Political Campus and walk back and down the stairs.
Trials shrine is inside the building with a blue tree on it.
Sunken Outskirts
Boss: Caeso ‘The trials shrine in Sunken Outskirts is located inside the building where one of the maiden keys is found, just outside of the hunters' camp.’
Teleport to Hunter's Camp and walk out of the area through the metal gates towards Ponte's Legacy
Trials shrine is inside the building with a blue tree on top.
Arges Plaza
Boss: Euthenia ‘The trials shrine in Arges Plaza can be found inside the building close to Prima Boulevard, right after you pass the armoured bull.’
Teleport to Prima Boulevard and walk through the pillars towards the building (defeat or run past the armoured bull to reach the Trials shrine).
Trials shrine is inside the building with a blue tree on it.
Glittering Deeps
Boss: Eureus ‘The trials shrine in Glittering Deeps can be found in the building located in the Underground Lake.’
Teleport to Underground Lake, go down the path from the conduit and then keep going left until you see the building
Caelum Summit
Boss: The Arbiter This trial unlocks only after completing the other six. ‘The trials shrine in Caelum Summit can be found underground, in the building in the Disc of Smite area.’
Teleport to Trail of Astrology, take the path towards the waterfall and walk straight forward. Climb down (don't jump, you will die) and continue walking on the path. After crossing the bridge, take a right, go down the stairs and then enter the structure on the left. When there, take the elevator to go down to the shrine.
Trials shine is underground.
You can also find this shrine using an alternative route, but for that, you need to have unlocked the gates towards Disc of Smite. Teleport to the Acropolis and go through the gates. Take the path uphill until you reach the white structure, and then take the elevator down.
We hope you find this guide useful as you search for the ancient portals to Phantasma.
Please share your experiences of the trials with us!

Embark on your journey as a young warrior of the Northwind Legion, and forge your way through mythical bosses to discover the truth behind the breathtaking city of Aphes.
With the release of the Asterigos: Call of the Paragons expansion right around the corner, Hilda can step into Phantasma - a mysterious new realm full of danger and untold legends.
In today's devlog, we want to open up the mystery a bit and tell you about Phantasma and the challenges you will have to face.
The breathtaking Phantasma
Phantasma is the realm of the Ascended Paragons, the heroes and heroines of Aphes' past who ascended and rested among the Gods of the Stars. We really wanted the area to resemble and be associated with myths and mystique of cosmic proportions.
Hence the color blue, the purple night sky, and the many interstellar phenomena, as if Hilda had stepped into an alien world where everything simultaneously looks so exotic and yet familiar.
A realm full of stories
When we were designing the world of Asterigos, we had many stories to tell. These include the struggle for the lives of the citizens of Aphes, the bravery of the Northwind Legion, and the story of the City of Stars. However, there are many stories we haven't had time to tell, especially the myths of Aphes.
So this time, with Phantasma as the central location for the DLC, we finally get to tell the story and build the adventure around it.
The challenges Hilda will face are those of the Paragons. These legendary heroes rested among the Gods for eons until their sleep was disturbed by an unknown dark force. When Hilda entered Phantasma, the paragons perceived the stranger as an intruder and thought she was the one behind unleashing the dark force.
Hilda must prove her innocence by passing the harshest trials of the Paragons, the one of which we are about to tell you.
Facing the Legendary Heroes of the Past
One of the seven heroes Hilda will face is Hippocrates. Founder of the Phalan Academy. The tenth Archon of the Legion.
Despite his noble origins, Hippocrates did not possess the arrogance and haughtiness inherent in other Aristoi. He was rude, impertinent, and unashamedly critical of his opponents. This character helped him get along with his peers in the legion in no time.
Believing that warriors should be well-trained in combat, magic, and wisdom, Hippocrates quickly put his thoughts into practice after joining the legion. He endowed his shield with Starite magic and controlled the shield's levitation with magic, taking his enemies by surprise during battles. This was unheard of in those days for Aphes, and Hippocrates was the first warrior to use Starite magic in his battle weapons.
Seeking to encourage the use of Starite in weapons, Hippocrates even used his family's wealth and lands to conduct research and eventually developed various types of astral ballistas, which were considered very advanced at the time.
Some could release a continuous astral beam to trap or obstruct enemies' movement, but the beams trajectory could not be altered during use.
Others could track enemies and destroy them in a matter of seconds, but their range was limited, and they used a much larger amount of Starite.
Due to the limitations of Starite magic technology, the design of astral ballistas was far from perfect, and they were expensive to make. While they could not be made widely available, they were still valuable research material for generations to come.
And though Hippocrates' tenure as the tenth Archon of the Legion was very short, he lived up to his credo and laid the cornerstone for the future of Aphes.
The Trials of Hippocrates
For the Hippocrates challenge, the battle begins with the first phase, an endurance test. Many projectiles like laser beams will be aimed at Hilda, and shields of judgement will fall from the sky, all under the constant onslaught of Hippocrates' minions. Only when Hilda can defeat them can she come face to face with Hippocrates himself.
This is how the second phase begins - a strength test. Hippocrates has a floating magical shield that constantly surrounds him and blocks any incoming attacks. This gives him the advantage of being able to push through. And that makes Hippocrates a formidable foe.
Try to figure out the right battle tactics and find his weaknesses!
Upgrade your weapons
We have also introduced a new game system: Weapon Mods. It allows Hilda to further customize her weapons with strong and unique powers. For example, the Brilliant Sun Blades allow Hilda to deal extra damage with her dual blades at the cost of stamina, while the Sword and Shield of the Starry Sky unleash a magic blast with every shield attack.
The new weapon mods can be unlocked by collecting rare materials from Phantasma and across the City of Aphes.
Vulcan will be happy to upgrade the weapons for you in the Shelter!

As we mentioned earlier, a new 1.06 update will be released alongside the Call of the Paragons DLC later this month, and today we’d like to give you a preview of what to expect from this update.
The update 1.06 will be free and available to all players who own Asterigos: Curse of the Stars on February 23rd, before the release of the DLC.
Gift of the Nexus
We wanted to make world exploration even more exciting and rewarding, so in the 1.06 update, a new system called Gift of the Nexus is coming to the game.
You'll be able to find treasure chests scattered throughout the City of Aphes, with various improvements to Hilda's skills, stats, weapons, and more!
As you open the chests, you'll fill up the progress bar. As you reach each level of Gift of the Nexus, a new reward will be waiting for you, so don't be afraid to peek around the corner during your adventures so you won't miss one of these chests!
Your Glimmer has also learned some new tricks. It will now emit a small beam of light when one of the treasure chests is near you. This will hopefully make it a little easier for you to find them.
New Outfits
In addition to permanent improvements to your attributes and armor, Gift of the Nexus also includes several new looks for Hilda. Both Arcanic Phantom Mantle and Armor of the Blue Meteor are available for free and will become account-wide when unlocked.
Mark Stone
You can now leave a colored mark according to your elemental enhancement on a location to help you with directions while exploring. The Mark Stone is visible from a distance and can also be removed remotely if needed. Get it from a new game or the War Table in the Shelter.
QOL Improvements
A new system option that automatically allows you to skip the re-spawn animation after death has been added.
A new system option that enables a permanent dash after a dodge action has been added.
A new system option that allows you to lock target selection has been added.
Bug fixes
Fixed a rare bug that could cause some players to get stuck in combat in the Glittering Deeps.
Fixed a bug that caused the Arges Plaza chapter in Journal to show incorrect page titles.
Fixed a bug that caused players to still gain experience in certain situations when equipped with the Eye of the Abyss Amulet.
