Today, we are introducing the different factions within the game, their story and some nifty ways to use their decks!
Faction Background:
Crime in the Sprawl is not as disorganized as it may seem. Tenuously connected to the shadowy Council of Crowns, the 9 Kings Syndicate is a highly profitable criminal organization with connections in virtually every level of government and commerce.
Faction Deck Explanation:
This is a faction where you can get many Outlaw units. Its effectiveness lies in its ability to increase the speed and power of your hand as well as snatch cards away from your opponent.
Recommended: Aggro Deck - Things may get a little tricky if the match goes on too long.
Strategies for this Deck:
You can use Dororo's Dagger to copy your opponent's card and steal it. Stealing cards can also be done by taking advantage of Hibukuro Armed Thug's Shatter ability. Even when the opponent summons super powerful units into the field, you can take them out in an instant by using the Cybernetic Assassin gear card. The Throwing Dagger faction skill can be used as a surefire way to deal 2 damage to units without taking damage or get your Deadcross Faithful into play and damage either your opponent or their units for 3 damage using its Construct skill. Gang Lackey's low cost and high Attack Power and HP make it a good choice for the early game.
Faction Background:
Those that have heard the words of the undying bird of fire believe in its warmth. They believe the Phoenix will protect them, and in turn, they must protect it. In these uncertain times, disciples of the Order of the Burning Feather believe that in fire comes peace, oneness, and the answers to all our questions.
Faction Deck Explanation:
Capable of handling both short-term and long-term battles. Since it is a well-balanced faction with its healing ability, it is suitable for any battle.
Recommended: Midrange Deck - There are quite a few cards with low attack, but high health which make them great for defending.
Strategies for this Deck:
Kumasoan Doctor's Stratagem skill lets you heal your units or yourself for 2 HP so keeping this unit on the battlefield for as long as possible will be an advantage for you during the match. For example, you can increase Kumasoan Doctor's HP and Attack Power by using Crimson Crystal Shard, then for good measure, use Phoenix Feather and Ascetic Aura to restore its HP and give it Protective Halo making it tough to take down. Additionally, using Phoenix Feather on the target zone gives all units in that zone Protective Halo which is super effective when used while there are multiple units in play.
Faction Background:
Considered a shining beacon of hope in the Sprawl, the Ministry of Science is a collection of the best and brightest with a common goal to innovate and improve the lives of everyone in the city. With one foot in the future, the Ministry of Science believes that all problems can be solved with science.
Faction Deck Explanation:
The Ministry of Science faction has the latest and greatest gear technology. This faction excels in field control.
Recommended: Control Deck - Many cards allow you to take control of the board and counter any move your opponent may make.
Strategies for this Deck:
Having a bunch of Gear cards allows this faction to really shine, letting you have some fun with your opponent with various special skills. Using Gear cards with Sniff Hound out in play increases its Attack Power every time you use a Gear card. While increasing its power, try using Electrified Mesh or Electroshock to stun your opponents and Hyberbaric Chamber or Mounted Rail Gun to dish out some damage. Also Robita's ability allows its cost to decrease equal to your max Quantum which makes it easy to summon it for a low cost late game. The second level upgrade of Ministry of Science's faction skill gives you the option of using Aerial Transport to swap the zones of target units making it possible to send your opponent's Guardian units with Stratagem abilities to the Enforcer Zone which disables their Stratagem abilities.
Faction Background:
What started as a grassroots political party has become a Sprawl-wide phenomenon. Gearwork Revolution, once a robotic rights advocacy group, has become a militant, pro-robotic guerrilla organization with a strong anti-human bent.
Faction Deck Explanation:
A faction that crushes the enemy by coordinating a large group of robots. As the battle is drawn out, the power of this faction increases. Its strength lies in long-term battles.
Recommended: Ramp Deck - Designed for long matches with powerful attack cards.
Strategies for this Deck:
Loaded with Machine units such as Crabman, Robo-tank and Robo Whale. These units have Stratagems which allow you to attack from afar so keeping these on the field can change the tide of battle. Not to mention, the Reinforced Plating Gear card gives +2/+2 to all Machine units in the target zone which is super effective when used on your Guardian Zone with Stratagem units. Charge those Stratagem gauges by summoning a Pipe Robot or take advantage of Mr. Suigara's skill which reduces the cost of all your Machines while he is on the battlefield.

Hi All!
We just wanted to say that we really appreciate the amount of feedback we've been getting as well as the numerous positive reviews. All are being shared with the development team, and we are all doing our best to keep improving the game, working out the issues and optimizing the performance.
The team is focused on trying to expand the user base in order to provide a better battle experience. We are very aware of the fact that it has been difficult to find opponents in the game but we are determined to help grow the community and both your comments and reviews have been encouraging as well as a big help to spread the word about the game.
Also we are rolling out an interesting update as you read this! I'll last until 8pm JST /4am PDT / 11am UTC.
We plan on making it easier for everyone to find opponents online by using the same server to organize matches. This means that you will be able to play against people worldwide rather than just in your region. However, because of this update, we are afraid to say that you currently will be unable to add people from other servers onto your friends list.
In other news, to help build the community and find other people to play with, some of the players have set up a Discord, so feel free to join!

Tournament mode is a game mode which allows players to play 5 online matches using a special tournament-made deck. Participating in these online matches can earn players rewards based on how many times they attain victory.
The deck used for tournament mode is unrelated to the decks and cards already owned by the player, but rather a deck created upon entering tournament mode by selecting desired cards from an offered selection. This allows players to play with cards that they don’t own yet. Once creating the deck, the player will go head to head with other players for 5 games.
Since tournament mode allows players to battle with a special deck, they can enjoy a variety of different strategies when compared to normal online matches.
[Rules]
You can participate in the tournament mode for 150 Prisma or $1.50.
Choose between two randomly chosen factions.
Select 2 cards from a selection of 5 randomly chosen cards until a full deck of 30 cards is made.
After 5 online matches, the rewards stated below are offered in accordance to your number of wins.
The basis of Astro Boy: Edge of Time is a one-on-one card battle.
You can obtain victory if you can reduce your opponent's HP to zero.
You will draw a random card from your deck every turn and place it in your hand. Using the cards in your hand, you can play them in the battle field to attack your opponent's HP.
■ Enforcers and Guardians
The field is divided into two rows, a front and back.
The front row is the Enforcer Row. Cards placed here are for attacking.
The back row is the Guardian Row. Cards placed here cannot directly attack but they can protect the player's HP.
Unless you destroy all the guardians in your enemy's back row, you cannot directly attack your enemy's HP.
■ Quantum
Each turn, your Quantum will increase in value by one. The maximum number you can have is 10. Each card costs Quantum, and the cards you are able to play is determined by the amount of Quantum you have.
The number shown in the upper left corner of the card is its cost. Once you play a card, it consumes that amount of Quantum. Each turn, your Quantum will recover.
Will you place your card in the front of back row? What sort of timing will you use to launch your attack?
Will you use all your cards at the beginning of the game, or will you wait until you have accumulated Quantum before launching your attack?
You decide the strategy of your game.

Today we want to take some time to introduce some of the artists that have lent their talents to help make Astro Boy: Edge of Time a reality.
The whole cast and deck for Astro Boy: Edge of Time have been redesigned for the brand new story which is featured in the game. Check out some of the cards below:
A whole new deck and world built out of the beloved characters from Osamu Tezuka, reimagined by famous creators. Astro Boy: Edge of Time features a brand new story for the Tezuka universe and introduces a new tournament mode. This is a card game that can be enjoyed by everyone, from beginners to advanced players.
In June, 2017, we will be releasing the English and Japanese versions of the game on the world’s largest PC platform, Steam.
“Black Jack”, “Dororo”, “Ambassador Magma”, “The Pheonix”, “Astro Boy”…
2018 celebrates the 90th birth anniversary of Osamu Tezuka, a literature genius who is attributed as the father of manga. For his works to touch new generations to come, a new game has been developed to introduce the characters of Tezuka. New creators have redesigned his characters in a modern era to reintroduce them to a younger generation, meanwhile still retaining Tezuka’s original charm.
Messages to the World
In the year 1950, "Astro boy" was born by the hand of Osamu Tezuka as a manga character. Then it spread around the world as an animation in 1963, which the famous movie directors, like Stanley Kubrick and Steven Spielberg, being influenced. Time has passed since then, and now, in 2017, our Astro Boy is re-born with outstanding new visuals and stories as a worldwide game! I wish everyone will have fun with the Astro Boy from this new era. Also I hope that "this" Astro boy becomes an animation or even becomes a Hollywood movie!
We designed two of the most important characters, "Lord Deadcross " and "Atlas", each corresponding with "The Power of Evil" and "Weapon of Mass Destruction" respectively. I can assure you that the game itself is very tactical and addictive. I am very pleased and fascinated to see that the worlds of Osamu Tezuka, and the world of “Astro Boy”, are going to spread around the world. Go, Astro Boy!
No one will imagine anything other than apple when they hear the word "Apple", similar to that, by hearing the name "Astro Boy", all the Japanese people can picture him in their minds. It is my absolute pleasure to be involved with such a huge title. Adding to that, working with Giovanni “Giorgio” Moroder was an exceptional experience to me. He is the one who influenced me the most when it came to music. For me, this fact might be bigger to me than "Astro Boy". (laughs)
So, because I've been having fun with Atom Boy for a long time already, I feel sorry for the users. Finally the game will be available on Steam for everyone, and it can soothe my feeling of guilt. I wish you have fun with the game!
All the works from Osamu Tezuka has become blood and is running in my veins. After being nominated for redesigning characters from the grand series, Black Jack, I joined this project feeling both ecstasy and anxiety at the same time.
Nomaru Tadayuki and I gave our wholehearted effort to this illustration so that Mr. Tezuka can see it from afar. I'm looking forward to seeing the gamers worldwide realize the beauty of the works and characters of Osamu Tezuka.
