The Forge Update! - Astronium 1.3

Astronium 1.3 - The forge and event improvements.

Finally the forge update has taken place. The possibility of upgrading weapons and use them till the end of the game was something that i felt missing from the game, that's why the forge is such a cool addition. And also, i took this opportunity to fix all the things that i felt like it could improve, this includes enemy attacks, battles, encounters and bugs that were already in the game.

New features:

- Iron shards: the new form of currency, wich you can use to upgrade your weapons at the forge, they
are dropped by enemies, bosses and encounters.



- Forge: you can use the forge in the central hub to upgrade your weapons, it is unlocked after freeing
Voryx from his cage and talking with him near the spaceship.



- Added a weapon level indicator in the weapon status interface.

- Now all settings are saved, this includes resolution settings and language.

- When navigating the options you can use the left and right keyboard keys, along as A and D to
decrease or increase values in the options.

- Four new achievements!



Changes:

- The Goblin knight that drops the helmet (quest item) chasespeed: 1 > 2

- Goblin archer Spawnrate increased in the forest.

- Large club damage hitbox increased. (The hitbox was very precise, and was very hard to hit very close
enemies.)

- When talking for the first time with voryx, you are locked in place during the "flaming rage agains't
goblins" i saw a lot of people skipping the second part of the dialogue because they didn't knew there
was going to be a new one after this.

- Projectile attacks from bosses now have more variety, the old ones were too easy of a challenge.

- The Goblin Warrior summoned by the Goblin Shaman now has improved movespeed = 2.1 > 2.2.

- Goblin King running attack now runs towards you, before it would go to your last location. The same
is true for the stomp attack from the Deepsea Ruler and the Ancient Warrior's flaming attack.

- Bare handed goblins spawnrate increased in the Goblin zone biome.

- Frostbite Skeleton hatchet retrieve speed = 1.5 > 2

- The game has been balanced to work with the new weapon upgrade system

- Added invincibility during weapon's specials and buff animations

- Increased hitboxes for special attacks with area damage

- The Blue Halberd Tryton's dash attack is now homing.

- The third encounter in the snow forest biome has been reworked (the one with the scythe skeleton) it
was to easy with just him in the middle, so i implemented two more enemies in the battle, they have
the same moviment mechanics as late game enemies so, the battle is way more interesting now.

- After the Reaper battle, the mausoleum key location is better visualized, with the camera being
dragged for the location of the key after the fight.

FIxes:

- When attempting a backstep after or at the start of a attack your character would dodge instead, this
is now fixed.

- The goblin king sometimes would break and be still until defeated, i think that i fixed it? but i'm not
sure.

- Deepsea Ruler being unable to take damage for some time after the first hit.

- Fixed invencibility time after being hit not working during weapon's buff animations.

- Fixed enemies receiving double damage some times.

- you no longer can take damage during a cutscene.

- Fixed dual weapons being unable to hit for the second time in the same animation.

- The reaper's ranged attack is fixed. Now it returns faster and behaves more like a boomerang.

- Fixed a problem where you would start the game in the previous biome even after saving in a new
one.

- The redmage in the forest now talks to you after opening the walls.

- Fixed event's and encounter's combat music being played at a high volume.

The end

Astronium has been in development for almost 2 years by now, this is going to be the last big update. Obviously i'll continue to fix bugs and eventual problems that can appear, but it's time to work in something new!

Pickups And Interface Update - Astronium 1.2

Astronium 1.2 - Weapon Pickups And Interface Update

After watching some of you play, i found that the lack of informations about certain aspects of the game were unclear for new players, so, i made new features to help with that.

New features :



- Added a player interface when holding the TAB button or the Right Trigger on the controller. It shows a variety of informations about your current weapon, player's techpiece count and max life.

- Added a pedestal in the forest where you can see more information about the types of skills that rare weapons can have.

- Weapon pickup system completely remade, fixed problems such as collecting two weapons at the same time, duplications and other issues related to pickups.

- Audio settings are now saved.

- Added a improved furnace near to the central campfire in the forest. For now it doesn't have any use, but it's going to play a huge role in the next update.



Fixes :

- Fixed Pickups being duplicated, deleted, and the possibility of them being collected at the same time, causing one of them to disappear, i remade the entire system to be sure that this is not going to happen anymore.

- Fixed a strange bug where a certain particle would appear after collecting a item

- Fixed the first panel in the prologue not being able to be interacted in the controller, that was the case with other interactable objects too, was caused by a older version of my current way to handle controller inputs.

- A lot of minor fixes.

What's coming next?

This update was originally going to be part of a bigger one, but i decided to divide them in two parts. Now it's time for the forge to take place!

General bug fix

First of all, thank you all for the bug reports in the community hub, this helps me a lot to improve the game the best i can.

Bug Fixes :

- Fixed you not being able to free Voryx from his jail after going to the snow/goblin biome first, without opening his jail door.

- Fixed double attack animations/glitched animations after entering a cutscene, using a special attack, being parried by the goblin knight or pausing the game, it was caused by the new dodge/backstep update, but glady it is finally fixed

- FIxed Some weapons being duplicated after collecting them ( it still can happen if you try to pick up multiple weapons at the same time, i will fix it in the next update)

- Fixed a error when saving the game with a enemy being still poisoned by a poison weapon.

- Fixed a panel in the tutorial being highlighted for no reason.


Changes :

- Those of you who purchased the game recently probably are already aware of it, but i added the controller versions of the panels in the prologue, now those playing in a controller can better visualize what you need to press.

Some of the bugs and changes in this log were already in the the game before, this is just a compilation of what i've done in the last days.

Navigation and Combat Update - Astronium 1.1

Astronium 1.1 - Combat and Navigation Update



After compiling the feedback I received from the game's reviews (thanks!), I noticed the two major gripes people had with the game were the combat and navigation, so here are the changes:

New features :





- Added a dodgeroll and a backstep - This has made the game's combat much more dynamic and fast paced, so if you've finished the game before, you might be interested in giving it another go!

- Changed the attack patterns of most enemies. (no more cheesing enemies by walking through them!)

- Added map signs placed at campfires to make navigation through the map easier.

- Added signs at the start of each area that tells the player the recommended weapon level for that zone.

- Adjusted some of the snow boss's hitboxes.

- The Goblin King can now be damaged during his 4 directional shooting attack.

- Improved the movement pattern of most snow area enemies.



Fixes :



- Voryx's first line of dialogue no longer glitches out if you spam interact on him.

- Enemies no longer spawn inside walls at the start of the game.

- The bosses health bars no longer flash sporadically.

- Fixed you sometimes being unable to talk to the Red Mage after his questline.

- Fixed the snow hunter's dogs not spawning in properly.

- The combat panel in the tutorial no longer traps the player if standing on it as it spawns.

Post Release Fixes Feb 7 2022

Bug Fixes :

- Fixed a problem with the entrance of the Beach biome where you could go out of bounds.

- Fixed a bug where the Hatchet Skeleton would stop moving after hitting him while he is on
his way to retrieve the hatchet.

- Fixed the Office table in the office encounter (Beach biome) disappearing after the event.

- Fixed a problem where the Red Mage in the forest would not talk to you after defeating the
Goblin Shaman.

- Fixed the interaction between the player and the caged wolf happening without the player's
input (thanks to the user "长夜守烛" for pointing it out)

Changes :

- The homing projectile from the Goblin King now moves 40% slower.

- The Eletric Gate key from the Ice Biome now has a 70% droprate instead of 50%

Known bugs :

- There is a situation where the game shows an error due to one of the Voryx's textboxes not
being set, to be honest i have no idea how to reproduce the bug because it is very specific,

Bug fixes :

-Fixed a bug that could happen after dying for a enemy or boss, crashing the game.

-Fixed a small space between walls, enabling you to go through.
