At long last, tangible progress. When I started this game, my goal was to keep the size of a given colony within Unity's usable range.
However, whilst Unity's physics may die at +-16km, their lightmapper gives up and goes for a sob a far, far smaller number than that. Due to that, I've had to refactor the *entire* game and the level, scaling everything down and rebalancing all the physics. That process has taken a long, long time, but I believe the game is more-or-less working again.
On top of that, I took this opportunity to completely re-balance all of the levelling. The previous setup had you hitting level 15 or so, and then taking a very long time to get through levels. The rebalance should mean levels are quite a lot closer together, but you need a higher level to achieve unlocks.
The combination of completely redoing the level, physics and meta of the game has taken much longer than expected, but I'm hoping I'm running out of blockers before I can start getting to first playable.
I have some minor tweaks to do on the AI ship steering and a number of playtest sessions, but my fingers are firmly crossed that I can release this into Early Access without being horribly embarrassed before too long.

Not dead!
What with one thing and another getting in the way, AstroTrucks has been gathering a little dust. Rest assured tho, they are things that slowly fill up the ProjectorGames coffers, so I can continue to to work on this game!
In other news, the Steamdeck version has... started working. I didn't do anything, so a big 'thank you' to Valve.
There has been a joint-effort on a sideproject linked to AstroTrucks that I'll also be talking about soon, but just wanted to change the EMBARASSING amount of time since I posted on here to 0.
Keep on truckin'
State Of Play #2
Spaceballs - the game!
Obviously the version I put on the official trailer page won't have the music!

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so imagine how many words this video's worth!
IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL.
Did I get my SteamDeck? Yes. Is it lovely? Yes! Does AstroTrucks run nicely on it? OH YES.
I also added a few more controls for todays build, so you don't have to bounce around between the pad and the joystick:
