0.6.01 Update!
Hey all! This version brings a host of bug changes and issue fixes! We're honing in on release!!
Version 0.6.01 change notes:
Increased the train boss's health.
Fixed a bug where you could defeat the train miniboss too fast and the train would not destroy.
Pressing the fire button during the credits sequence will now make the credits scroll faster.
Added a timer and total enemy kill count to the end game screen.
Fixed an issue where the paramedic bot and confidence body spray would not be active after entering the final level.
Fixed an issue where the player low health smoke would continue after finishing the game and into the credits.
Fixed an issue where the player's thruster sprites would render behind some objects unintentionally
Corrected a few UI elements to render properly under the CRT filter when the CRT filter is enabled.
Experience drops now auto sum, and drop in denominations of 20's, 5's and 1's. This is meant to reduce the number of exp drops on screen at one time, improving performance when a large amount of exp drops at once.
Karen bosses will now drop a small amount of health restoration items depending on how far in the game you are.
Drop rates for health items and rockets are slightly increased.
Adjusted enemy health rate curves to give more enemy health in later stages.
Adjusted exp curve higher for later levels.
Decreased the exp drops for repeating prefabs in boss situations such as Marva's orbs, and Jordan's swag.
Increased the rate at which health drops from enemies after buying the upgrade in the shop.
Added a push back collider on the right side of the screen during phase 1 and 2 of the final boss fight
Boosted player damage slightly during the final phase of Marva's fight.
Grenades will now seek Marva's hand properly
New sprite created for Tiffany's hammer bullet projectiles.

Hey Karen Obliterators!
Thanks so much to everyone who registered for the playtest! I got tons more people signing up than I had hoped for, so it's great to get everyone involved in the beta! It's been so good to hear from the fans about the game, and I'm getting more feedback than I have time to handle! For this reason, I've decided to hold off on further registrations until I've had a chance to catch up. Please continue to watch this space for an update closer to release, I may open up a second playtest to get some final polish ideas before release.

The beta is now available via the playtest feature on the Steam page! If you'd like to participate in testing Attack of the Karens and making the game as polished as possible before release, register for playtesting! I'll be adding limited amounts of people to the playtest pool as needed on a first-come-first-served basis, so sign up TODAY!

In other news, The Attack of the Karens release date has been announced.. sort of. After I announced during the livestream I realized that it might be best to release before SHMUP fest and take advantage of the visibility during the event, or possibly release during. I'm consulting with Valve on the rules of releasing during an event, but the release date may shift slight from Oct 4th to be a bit earlier.. more to come on that!

Dev Notes - v0.4.10
Hello Karen Obliterators!
The demo and alpha have been updated to v 0.4.10, and included are a few bug fixes and improvements:
Marva now has the proper health when you fight her. Before, her health was halved.
Shooting Matva's left hand during her final phase will no longer damage her. This was causing her to be defeated too quickly.
Jordan now renders infront of her follower waves instead of behind.
Jordan's follower wave attack scales better depending on which level you fight her. Lower level Jordan will spawn shorter waves that have more space in between them, higher level Jordan will spawn taller waves with less space between them.
Added a few more sound effects to the game.
Fixed an issue where subway cars and cruise ships in the background would carry over to the next levels unintentionally.
Cassie's health has been nerfed slightly.
Fixed an issue where Cassie would keep shooting at you even when you defeated her.
Fixed an issue where the downtown sniper wouldn't destroy on boss spawn.
Fixed an issue where enemies on the farms level would spawn before you had a chance to control your ship, causing unintentional damage to the player.
Slowed down the Karen bot enemies on the suburbs level
Fixed an issue where Tiffany would softlock after kill her during her large hammer slam attack.
Properly synchronized the sound effects for the main street slammers inside the large ship.
Playtesting to be announced soon for the Alpha! I'll be looking for about 10 or so people to be dedicated testers!

The new art is done! I'm loving the way it looks, and can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks!
Sorry I don't have a game update right at the moment, just have the art to talk about.

One was concerned while other started laughing. Yeah, that pretty much sums up how people react to this game! You either shake your head, or you "get it". Luckily, all of you seem to be in on the joke, so I hope your enjoying the demo of this little shmup I've made!
