AUDICA v0.1.5 Update Notes - Introducing Community Maps!
Hey everyone!
Today, we're releasing AUDICA authoring tools and documentation to the entire community so that players can make fully-supported, alternate target maps for Audica's soundtrack!
We've been listening and heard that you all want more support for custom content, and today marks the first step in what we're internally calling "the AUDICA Creator Initiative" with the introduction of Community Maps. Our goal is to provide a platform for our incredibly creative modding community to showcase their talents to all of AUDICA's players. Long-term, we want to make it as easy as possible for players to access Community Maps from within the game. Think in-game downloads and the ability to rate and review maps after you play. How far we go in developing this feature will depend on your feedback, so tell us what you think and let's make something awesome!
For more information on how to get started, read the full post about Community Maps over on our blog at http://www.harmonixmusic.com/blog/introducing-community-maps-in-audica-update-015.
Additionally, the 0.1.5 update brings the following changes and fixes:
Updates to the Spectator Cam:
User preferences for enabling the spectator camera are now saved.
There is now a notification to let you know if you're in 1st or 3rd person mode.
Added a setting to adjust the volume of music and SFX independently.
Bugs fixed:
Fixed a bug where certain melee targets were always counting as a miss after restarting a song.
Fixed an issue where the score displayed on the song list wouldn't reset when a song's leaderboard was wiped.
Fixed a bug for Vive players where you couldn't twirl your gun without toggling between the 1st / 3rd person spectator camera mode.

AUDICA v0.1.4 Update Notes -- 2 New Songs & Game Updates/Fixes!
Hey everyone! We’re happy to bring a brand new update to AUDICA! Based on your feedback, we have some exciting new features to share with you. Oh, and don’t forget, we have two new songs as well!
Let’s get into the notes!
New Songs:
“Boom Boom” by Iggy Azalea ft. Zedd
“Synthesized (Audica Remix)” by Symbion Project
Game Updates & Fixes:
Authoring adjustments to address player feedback on difficulty:
"I Want U" by Alison Wonderland - all difficulties.
"Splinter" by Savant - Beginner, Moderate, and Advanced.
Note: Leaderboards will be wiped for these two songs on the adjusted difficulties since the changes have lowered the maximum possible score.
Target movement has been slowed in lower difficulties to increase readability.
Target visibility improvements:
Increased brightness of cue dart and added a pulse element to help with rhythmic readability.
Particle explosions are reduced in sections that have a lot of targets.
Reduced flare-out for gun beams and stacked notes.
Added spectator camera options to improve the streaming and viewing experience:
Smoothed first person camera, static third person camera, and panning third person camera.
Added player avatars when in third person spectator camera mode.
Added feature to allow mixed reality streamers to create the appearance of the camera panning around them.
Fixed rendering issues when shooting towards the camera in mixed reality.
For the particle lovers, added an "extra particles" option.
You can now twirl your guns by holding the thumbstick sideways, or pressing down on the sides of the Vive trackpad - how cool is that?
Fixed bug where European number formatting caused leaderboards to not work.
Added meters to height display in the settings.
Added a haptics intensity slider.
Fixed long song names hanging off end of results screen.
Updated the Form graphics in the Tutorial for clearer instruction.
We have updated to Unity version 2018.3.10, which fixes low framerate when Alt Tab-ed away from the game.
That’s all for now! Thank you so much for all of your support through Early Access and keep all of your suggestions and feedback coming. Join our Discord to join this discussion if you haven’t already: Discord.gg/Harmonix

AUDICA v0.1.2 Update Notes
Hey everyone!
Thank you for your continued support! Your feedback from AUDICA’s first week of Early Access has been incredibly helpful – keep it coming! We’ve just released an update (0.1.2) that adds more of the customization options you’ve been asking for, fixes for the bugs you’ve helped us track down, and more.
Let’s get to the patch notes for version 0.1.2:
Fixed a bug where certain melee strikes were incorrectly counted as misses.
You can now adjust your height from the Settings menu. This will increase accessibility and should help you with melee hit detection.
Added an option for flipping slot targets for players who prefer them like this.
Added an in-game warning addressing a Unity bug (fix pending) that affects framerate when the game window is not in focus.
Note: Keeping the AUDICA window focused will maintain the best framerate
Sustain and chain breaks are now displayed on the results screen to improve messaging when players hit 100% of the targets, but leave a chain or sustain early, thus not receiving a FC.
Higher difficulties are now locked for new players. Advanced unlocks for all songs after starting one song on Moderate, and Expert unlocks after starting one song on Advanced.
Added a message in the tutorial about resting your arms.
Added an option to reduce automatic re-centering.
The Total Leaderboard now displays the “Top %” correctly on the Friends tab.
Fixed a bug where some players were getting stuck on the title screen.
Fixed bug where leaderboards didn’t work for players whose computers are set to other number formats.
Please continue to share any issues or feedback you may for AUDICA! Additionally, you can check our newly launched Trello board to see known issues, what’s next on our roadmap (including two new songs coming next week), and more! AUDICA v0.1.1 Update Notes
Hey everyone!
First, thanks so much for all your support! We’ve been blown away by the initial reaction and can’t wait to see how you help us improve and evolve AUDICA through Early Access. We just pushed out an update that addresses some of the feedback you’ve shared from AUDICA’s first 24 hours.
Let’s get right to the notes for version 0.1.1:
Melee hit detection is now more generous, and the game now re-centers you upon the start of a song to give you the best melee position. (NOTE: we don’t re-center you after choosing “Restart.”)
Added a "Choose Difficulty" label to Difficulty selection for clarification.
A setting has been added (“Audio Filtering on Miss”) so that, if unselected, song volume is no longer reduced when missing a target, as some users expressed a preference for this.
The song’s title is now listed on the Song Leaderboard panel.
Reduced particle density to improve target readability.
Tutorial text no longer references specific colors to accommodate players who change their weapon colors before playing the Tutorial.
Adjusted tutorial text to explain how to avoid arm fatigue.
Made ‘cue darts’ more noticeable, to better draw your eyes to the area where off-screen targets will be coming from.
Made authoring adjustments for sections that felt unfair in the following songs:
1788-L & Blanke “Destiny”
Noisia “Collider”
We will continue to monitor all channels for new issues and feedback as they come up. Additionally, you can check our newly launched Trello board to see known issues, what’s on our development roadmap, and more! You can find it at bit.ly/AudicaTrello
It’s been an exciting three weeks since we announced Audica, but all of that is behind us as the team just hit the big “release game” button on both the Oculus and Steam stores, making Audica officially available to play in Early Access!
What Is Audica?
Get your blasters ready as you’ll be shooting and smashing targets to the beat of a killer soundtrack featuring songs from some of the most popular electronic artists. Keep timing, accuracy, and form in mind to better your score and race to the top of the leaderboards.

Early Access Plans & Development Roadmap
With Audica now available in Early Access, we’re looking forward to working closely with you, our community, to shape the course of our development.
While we have big plans on where we would like to take Audica, there are a ton of questions we have about the game (for example, should there be an overdrive mechanic?) that we want to discuss with the community. Additionally, we’re very interested to hear what features, mechanics, songs, and other things you would like to see in the game!
We’ve been thinking about the best ways to solicit feedback and ideas and have these discussions. We wanted to take a moment to share our current plan with you!
Discord: The entire development team has already been hanging out and chatting with everyone who’s been hyped about the game so far. We have channels here to chat with us, share your feedback, get support, and of course request music for the game!
Trello: We will also be launching a Trello board. Our goal is to update this at twice a week to track feature requests, patch notes, known issues, and more. The Audica Trello board will act as a hub for all info for the game and will serve as a roadmap for development.
We'll be sure to share a link and update this post once it goes live!
Surveys: Every few weeks we’ll be distributing surveys to the Audica community. Surveys are a great way for us to curate all the suggestions and ideas and receive quantifiable feedback on all of it. Stay tuned for our first one in the next couple of weeks!
Other Community Pages: Of course, will also be very much involved with the Steam Forums, community subreddit (/r/Audica), on our social channels (@Harmonix on Twitter!), and anywhere else where an Audica community might spring up. While we may not reply to everything posted, you can rest assured we’ll be reading everything and discussing it internally daily!
That’s all for now!
As you’ve heard all of us say at Harmonix, we’re very excited to finally release Audica out into the world and are looking forward to continuing to build it with you.
Continue to keep posted across the coming weeks and months for more updates as Audica develops!
