Hey all! Excited to bring you a new version of Auro which has some new spells, new monsters and a bunch of bug and balance tweaks.
Let us know what you think!
More games from Auro's lead designer!
Hi Dinofarm Games fans! It's me, Auro's lead designer, Keith Burgun. These days, Dinofarm isn't doing that much together, but I wanted to let you know about my own company, Keith Burgun Games, and the stuff I've been working on! First, let me just let you know that you can sign up here to get updates on everything I'm working on. But here's some bullet points you gotta know!
First, if you don't know about Gem Wizards Tactics, you'll definitely want to get on that. It's kind of a lot like Auro, but if you had like 5-6 Auros doing battles against a hundred guys on a big map (and you can push people off the edges! A good amount of BUMPING). GWT is available here on Steam now, on Android, iOS, and coming tomorrow on the Nintendo Switch and XBox platforms!
If you like quick, portable, yet really deep card games that are about BUMPING, definitely check out my successfully kickstarted card game, Dragon Bridge! You can grab a copy for just $20 here at CoolStuffInc.
I also have a cool new 1 player digital card game/deckbuilder/roguelite coming soon, called Castle of the Secret Arts.
I also also have another cool card game coming - more news on that soon.
Anyway, yeah - sign up for my mailing list at https://www.keithburgun.net/signup. If you do, you'll get some free stuff from time to time!
Thanks for supporting Auro for all these years! I can't believe it's been like... 11 or 12 years since I started working on it. As to the future of Auro, it's uncertain. But I definitely hope that I can at least make sure it stays up, as it's a super cool game that I'm really proud of. Most updates though will probably come through the Keith Burgun Games funnel, so make sure to stay tuned on there.

VERSION 3.3 out on STEAM!
Auro 3.3 Patch Notes
This is the largest Auro patch since 2.0 back in 2016! You're gonna wanna check this one out!
Beta Monsters and Beta Spells are only available in Custom Matches, so be sure to turn them on in the Custom Game Screen, if you’d like to try them out.
New Achievements
Creature Changes Adjusted: Water squids are now called Krakens. Adjusted: Brutes will also bounce anyone bumped into them back in the direction they came from. Adjusted: Charles will now bump Auro backwards, whenever Auro bumps them. Adjusted: When Charles bumps Auro he will follow, even if there are Flames, or Floe. Adjusted: Charles will also bump anyone bumped into him back where they came from. Adjusted: Brutes, Charles, Flat Slimes, Krakens, & Yetis can now be selected as targets for the Dash spell, allowing you to bounce, or bump off of them. Adjusted: Foxy will now display a targeting reticle on nearby tiles she could attack this turn. Bugfix: Slimes now wait until they finish moving before turning flat. Bugfix: Slimes are now heavy when frozen. Bugfix: Troggles no longer cause a crash if they charge over a Cursed Kid. Bugfix: Troggles now Bounce if they charge over a Flat Slime. Bugfix: Troggles no longer kill anything they’re pushed into when in their Charging state. Bugfix: Krakens are now vulnerable to Smokey Flavoured bounces. Adjusted: Immovable creatures that walk over Flat Slimes, will now kill the slime.
New Status Effect Static charge: Three strikes and you’ll be overloaded and struck by lightning at the end of the turn. Use an attack to discharge this effect, knocking creatures backwards an extra tile. If you're overloaded, your bumps will stack push when they discharge.
Auro Extended Universe - Beta Spells Static Swap: Change places with an adjacent monster, and both gain 1 static charge. You can use this ability twice before it expires.
Flip. Charge into an adjacent creature and flip them over your head. Leave Votices on both departed tiles.
Ultimate - Summon The Kraken. Summon a Kraken on a tile destroying it and bouncing everyone adjacent away. Anything on the targeted tile is devoured.
Auro Extended Universe - Beta Monsters New Creature type Elemental Motes - Elemental Motes fly slowly towards Auro before exploding with a unique elemental effect. Auro can bump them to push them away before their elemental explosion occurs. When an Elemental Mote spawns in it brings with it an elemental effect that it leaves that tile.
New Creatures Gusty Mote (Silver+): Bounces everyone adjacent away. Spawns on a Vortex.
Icey Mote (Gold+): Freezes everyone adjacent, and Freezes all adjacent tiles. Spawns on a permanently Frozen tile
Flaming Mote (Platinum+): Applies Smokey Flavour to everyone adjacent, and destroys its tile. Spawns on a Flame.
Zappy Mote (Platinum+): Applies 2 Static Charges to everyone adjacent.
Zappy Bat (Platinum+): On bite, these bats apply 1 Static Charge to Auro, and teleports to a random tile 3 tiles away from Auro.
Flaming Lich (Gold+): Similar to other Liches, but applies Smokey Flavour to Auro based. Also leaves behind Flames, instead of vortices when bumped.
Zappy Lich (Platinum+): This liches attack applies 1 Static Charge to Auro. But it can use this ability whenever Auro casts a spell in its range, provided its ability isn’t on cooldown.
Gusty Lich (Platinum+): Similar to other Liches, but bounces Auro based on their relative position/direction, leaving a Vortex on Auro’s old tile.
Enraged Yeti (Platinum+): Spell Immune and Immovable creature that will deal 1 damage, Freeze you, and throw you over its head if it gets in range. It will Freeze and throw any creature bumped into it over its head as well. If you manage to burn, or drown it, it gets faster and angrier.
Cursed Vargas & Cursey Bat (GrandMaster+): A seemingly normal bat that if defeated will transform into a Cursed Vargas. Cursed Vargas has a dash-suplex combo, so keep your distance, or lure him to dangerous terrain.
Devilish Trickster (GrandMaster+): Like other Tricksters they can swap places with you, but Devilish Tricksters swap with you when you try to cast a spell. Your spell still occurs, but now you might be the target. Unbumpable - Devilish Tricksters can always swap places with you even if you ever try to bump them.
[Defunct] Furry Yeti: Spell Immune and Immovable creature that will deal 1 damage, freeze you, and throw you over its head if it gets in range. It will freeze and throw any creature bumped into it over its head as well. If you manage to burn, or drown it, it gets faster, but loses its defenses.
Custom Game Mode In addition to choosing what rank you’d like to play, custom games can now include any of the new beta creatures and beta spells you’ve seen in these patch notes. Choose between Zappy & Cursed Bats, Between Furry and Enraged Yetis, and select the elemental type of the Motes & Liches you’ll encounter.
You can also customise your spell loadout with each slot selected individually.
Adjusted: If Beta Monsters are selected, the creature turn order changes from Freeze -> Bounce -> Bump -> Damaging Bump -> Regular -> Troggle -> Fire Mote ->Trickster To Bump -> Bounce -> Freeze -> Damaging Bump -> Regular -> Troggle -> Fire Mote -> Trickster Adjusted: If Beta Monsters are selected, the score goal for Platinum is reduced by 10.
UI Updates Updated: New and adjusted descriptions of many creatures in help mode. New: While in help mode, it will now display which tiles a Monster can attack when you mouse over it. New: The camera is now better at following Auro when he’s pushed around. Updated: Some creatures now have additional effects on their abilities.
Auro 3.2 is LIVE!
Hey everyone! If you missed our last post, it talked more about the details, but Auro 3.2 is LIVE! It's a big one! Please check it out. In addition to this list of patch notes, I've also added some more achievements. See if you can become a GRANDMASTER!
3.2 PATCH NOTES - Added a basic custom match feature, that allows you to play an unranked game at any rank - Added Grandmaster rank! New Quillsh dialogue lines and hud art that are much nicer for players rank 20 and up. - Added Charles the Slime. Does 1 damage and follows you after bumping, 0CD. Doesn't flatten upon being bumped. Only in Platinum+ - Removed red text that would appear sometimes as a result of usually harmless bugs but made the game unplayable - Changed Win Streak values from 0, 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 to 0, 10, 30, 50, 75, 75, 75. - Improved spell descriptions which were terrible before. - Decreased score goals across the board - you'll have to reach rank 25 before the goal goes over 100 now. - increased difficulty at Gold and Platinum (These two changes, let us know how they're going!) - Curse Kids do 2 damage now. - Snowball CD changed from 4 to 3. Also Snowball freezes all actors for just 1 turn now.
ENJOY!
Also, don't forget that we are doing Auro in the KBGames Game Design Book Club! There's a lot of discussion about Auro happening over at that Discord, so come and say hi!

3.2 Beta - Custom Games, Grandmaster Rank, a new monster, and more
I should just let people know that currently, there is a bug where after you play Custom Matches, I think it's overriding your Ranked game rank. I'll fix that before we set it live, but I wanted to get people's opinions, mainly on the two changes in bold below.
This version is up on the BETA BRANCH on Steam right now! Give it a twirl.

Version 3.1!
Hey everyone! I'll keep it short and sweet. There are a bunch of small quality of life fixes for this version.
ACHIEVEMENTS! It finally happened. We now have our first 9 achievements in the game. They're nothing too crazy yet. For the next patch I'm gonna start adding some really fun ones, like "killed a squid with a frozen monster" (did you know you could do that?!) and stuff like that. But hey, we have achievements now! (Also, heads up, I'm not sure I have the notifications working yet, but the achievements WILL register in your Steam account when you get them... at least, I'm pretty sure they will (let me know!)
Arguably more important than achievements are some fine tuning to power tile-economy in the game. The opening area was way too bereft of power tiles before, causing the early game of a lot of matches to be extremely cruel, randomly, sometimes. Now there should be a more regular ability for Auro to collect power tiles.
A bunch more quality of life stuff regarding how animations look and camera movement stuff.
Let us know what you think!
Auro 3.0 - the beginning of a new era!
Hey everyone! So, you might remember that back when we first launched Auro on Steam back in 2016, the biggest complaint was "why can't we fullscreen". It's hard to believe, but since then over the years we've had about half a dozen different programmers come at that problem trying to solve it, and all of them weren't able to do it. It's a really weird, old mix of a bunch of outdated frameworks that Auro was originally built on (we started it in 2011, after all).
(I know there are some coders here thinking, pfft, how hard could it be? That's what every coder said until they got all set up with the repo and everything!)
Anyways. A few months ago Brett Lowey and I of BrainGoodGames (go check out SOLAR SETTLERS!) worked out a deal: he would code for us a UNITY PORT of Auro!
Cut to: now! We now have an all-new, fresh version of Auro! We're so pumped. Auro 3.0 (as we're calling it) is pretty darn similar to the Auro 2.0 you knew and loved. But there have been a bunch of bugfixes and actually some subtle rule improvements too! The big news is:
- You can now do FULLSCREEN as well as different screen resolutions - There is now a RANK SELECTOR which lets you set your rank at 5, 10, or 15
Beyond that, the options going forward are limitless! We can port this easily to Android going forward, and possibly iOS even! There are some threads over on the Steam forums where you can submit your thoughts as to what you'd like to see in the game next.
Thanks for all your patience. Happy bumping!
Auro 3.0 is live on our Beta branch!
We're calling it Auro 3.0. A new version of Auro, re-coded from scratch from the ground up for Unity. This means that we can start working on Auro again! This also means that you already have a few new features which were tough as hell to implement before and now are super easy (like the oft-requested ability to full-screen the application).
If you can, please try out the beta version on the beta branch! We'd love to hear what you think!
This is ONLY THE BEGINNING!!!
JELLY BOMBER IS OUT!
Hey everyone! The new Dinofarm Games game, Jelly Bomber is now OUT! It's like Dr. Mario but with a strategy game infusion! Please check out the trailer and stuff here, and spread the word if you can.
