This is our first really, *really* big update! The game is now much further along, with a lot of new characters, bug fixes, and polish overall. There is also a new character select screen, and coming next is the level select with more stages. We also added a new Ascended form for Azrael himself!
ASCENDED AZRAEL
When Azrael charges (L2+R2) while being under 50% HP and at least level 18, he shifts into the Ascended Azrael form. This version of Azrael gains a huge speed boost, better flight, a much-improved superspeed (the best in the game) and an upgrade to his blasts. The form lasts until death and gives Azrael a massive upgrade which can turn the tide of a tough battle.
RAVENOUS
Ravenous is a demon from the Otherworld. He is a massive character, larger than any other, and feels like a monster in combat. His ground strikes are slow, but have great range and power, and his air attacks are fast and deadly. His blasts and superspeed are both excellent. Ravenous is one of two "monster class" characters (the other being Rock) - in Azrael, characters become stronger as they level up. Some characters are front loaded, like Atom, and don't gain much as they gain levels. Ravenous is the opposite: he seems underwhelming at the start of a fight, but at high levels he is truly terrifying.
LIFER
Lifer is a super-soldier and a rival to Azrael. He has a few unique moves that separate him from the rest of the cast: his air forward heavy attack is an "air dash" that flies through an enemy, dealing massive damage, and can be chained into and out of. He also has a unique uppercut, a slide and an air stomp attack. His flight, superspeed and blasts are not as good as characters like Azrael, Rock or Hazel, but he makes up for it with his fighting techniques and combos.
ATOM
Atom is one of the "human" characters of the game: unlike most of the characters in the Azrael story, Atom is not a super-soldier, a demon or a user of magic powers. Atom has a suit of armor which gives him a high defense and uses a jetpack to fly. Atom uses powerful plasma cannons combined with slow, but strong attacks to win the fight. He will likely be played as a defensive character due to his slow movement, but his powerful attacks, innate defense and ranged superiority make him a great and unique addition to the cast.
SHEN
Shen is the strongest living human, a martial arts master without peer. Atom has a jetpack and Lifer has limited flight, but Shen cannot fly at all. His superspeed and blasts are also rather weak. What Shen has going for him are his unique and powerful attacks: most of Shen's heavy attacks will launch the character in the direction you're holding, and they can be chained into devastating combos. Shen is a character with great strengths and weaknesses, but in the right hands he can hang with the best of them.
