Devlog #1

Hi. This is my first Devlog posted ever.

I would like to tell you reader, that I am working hard to get a playable game up and running. I am new to the whole game developer scene, as I have just started learning a couple months ago. I started making this game about a week ago as well.

I have July 1st, as of the time of writing, as the release date, but that will most likely be moved back a week. I want to do a playtest before publishing a first full build.
When I do a playtest. I will probably allow many people to test it themselves.

Multiplayer for the game works and will allow you to host and join your friends off of steam. I will most likely not be allowing public joining of servers until later updates. We will see during the playtest if I need to fix multiplayer.

I am currently working on the map. I want to make the game playable on low end hardware and there will be a lot of procedurally generated dynamic lighting. So, I have a set map size, until I figure out a way to make it endless and allow performance to be agreeable.
But, do not worry, the map is plenty big and will be enough for multiplayer of up to 8 people, the playtest will help fact check this.
BTW, it will be procedurally generated, so you will get a different map each time you play.

Entities in the map will include 'smilers'. I might update the way it looks, I think it needs more of a broken smile. I have tried making many different entities. Each I have made, I have gotten feedback saying they looked 'goofy'. That could also just be because I am not the greatest at using Blender, which I am working on getting better :(
Animations are kind of hard, but I think the entities I produce will be fine for the first release of the game.
I hope to have at least two entities during the playtest.

Price of the game I estimate will be 6 USD.

If you have any questions or input, please discuss it below.

Thank you for being interested enough to read my announcement. I really am looking forward to the playtest soon, I hope to see you there!
