New Seattle Scenario! Weeklong Sale!

Hey, Mayors! We've have a really cool update this week alongside a juicy 90% discount.

If you've always wanted to visit the cloudiest and most supersonic city in the USA, now it's time to get your copy of BalanCity and try the new Seattle Scenario! Build the Space Needle and Columbia Center among other contemporary landmarks such as the Eagle statue and the 60s Monorail System.

If you lose, maybe you could start your own garage band and grunge about it!

New Scenario - Shanghai! (plus pigeons) - SUMMER SALE!

Hey there BalanCity fans and players!

It's been a while since I the last update but here comes a very solicited scenario: Shanghai, China!

Lot's of supertall skyscrapers for you to build and try to balance in these uneven platforms!

Also you must beware of building too many Coal Power Plants, as smog will obscure your view! Time to plan on green energy (sorry Don).

In other news, a plague of pigeons seems to have arrived to BalanCity, so please ignore the pesky birds as you build.

Last but not least, the game is 90% off this Steam Summer Sale! So it's your chance to get your BalanCity today (or get it as a gift for that special someone!).

OST available and 80% discount this week!

Dear fellow BalanCitians!

You can get BalanCity OST by Ariel Contreras-Esquivel right here through Steam.

This week you can also buy the game at a juicy discount of 80% off the base price starting from 3/27 to 4/2! It's your chance to start balancing cities if that's what you've always wanted!

You can also get the OST and download all the tracks at the highest quality here:

Resident Block Update

Dear players,

I have updated the resident block sprite so that it will show it's current population and quality of life level.

If a block population is below 9, or if it's not powered or without jobs, smog stains will appear.

If population is between 9 and 10, the block will show clean, as it always did.

And if the population is over 10, nice little plants will appear on the balconies meaning that block can upgrade to a Mega Block.

I also increased the trees effect, so that you won't need so many of them for blocks to rise over 10 residents.

Finally, a quick fix on "Power to the people" mission, now you will not lose if a power plant falls off the screen.

Hope you enjoy these changes!

Have fun!

Fernando

ps. If you have a vote to spare for BalanCity at IndieDB's Top 100 Indies of 2016, please support the game at:

Quick fix update

Hey! Just wanted you to know that the last update fixes a couple of bugs like:

- Fixed Peppy from appearing randomly during the game after beating Nightmare Scenario.

- Removed height limit after you complete scenarios so that you can build as high as you can.

- Fixed planes not aligning properly with the airports.

p.s. Couldn't fix Don being elected mayor :(

Hope to have a Holiday update up soon!

Keep sending bugs and feedback!

regards

Fernando

Halloween Update!

Dear players,

A new scenario has been added to the game!

Nightmare Scenario

To stay in line with this weekend's Halloween celebrations, a new Nightmare Scenario is available for you to try, if you are brave enough.

In this scenario you will face your deepest fears (if you are afraid of clowns and/or pumpkins) and you will be able to build five new special spooky buildings such as a Haunted House, an Asylum and the Gates to Hell itself.

If you dare to try and complete the Nightmare, a nice little Achievement is waiting for you when you wake up!

Hope you have fun!

Mac Steam Support!

If you play BalanCity on a Mac, now you can get full Steam integration and try to get to the Top Ten or unlock achievements!

New Advisors! - October Update

October Update - New Advisors, a couple of shortcuts and fixes

Hey! It's been a while since the last update but today you will see a couple of new things in the game.

Choose your advisor

Now you will be able to pick your favorite advisor to assist while you build our city!

Apart from SUP, now you can play with Don, Peppy and Heelaree.

Each one has his own power up for your city, Don makes the military more effective, Heelaree makes emergency helicopters faster and Peppy, he just wants to play with you and make unhappy feelings go away.

Scroll and Zoom with the keyboard

Now you can pan your city view using the directional keys in your keyboard, as well as , and . to zoom in and out.

Autosave

Now the game autosaves Free Build and Scenarios every 10 seconds. Everytime you leave your city, it will be saved so that you can continue building it some other time or if the game crashes. Beware that you cannot leave the game without saving, so it is kind of permadeath of your city if you lost.

There have been numerous bug fixes and balance tweaks to the game. Please report any bugs you may encounter.

Have fun!

Fernando

9-25 More and more Bug Fixes!

Hey! After some reviews and comments by players I made a couple of fixes and changes to the game mechanics.

Some of the changes in the game are:

- Block merging now is more tolerant. It is easier to make mega blocks now.

- Emergency helicopters now do not need to go back to their headquarters. In a future update I will add the option to build several stations, but now you can place your helis wherever you want and they won't return back home leaving far away from a disaster zone.

- When you unlock a Special Building, you are not forced anymore to place it. Now you can continue building whatever you were building and choose when you want to build the Special Building in order to raise your height limit.

- Mission "Towered Blocks" is the most difficult one and was moved to the last spot in the list. Also, the inspector is now available as well as trees and terraces that will make that mission a lot easier (some players might find that their progress is messed up, as the last mission will be unlocked and the second and third not, just play mission "Power to the People" again in order to unlock the "Rich & Poor" mission).

I'm glad to read more feedback from players to make BalanCity a better and more enjoyable game!

yours truly,

Fernando Cordoba
