U/WATER FOG GLITCH: Appears when the surfer is perpendicular to the wave on certain angles, u/ water fog allow the player to see through to the bottom.

Patch v.38 News

Hey all,

We're releasing a graphics update, which we hope will be the first phase of a series of incremental and continued visual improvements within BL Pro Surfing. It's no exaggeration to say that this patch has been a slog to re-engineer and it's also fair to suggest, it's been anything but trivial. Anyone who knows anything about water graphics in video games can vouch for that :). We broke a bunch of our systems (and nearly our sanity!) during the course of this upgrade and aside from introducing new shaders and underlying code, just putting it all back together has been a mission. We hope that it's been worth it. There is still more to do but all things being equal, now we've got the bulk of this work in place, we should be able to update in smaller increments again and that the next couple of patches should be faster.

The next immediate goals are to get back on to some of the gameplay adjustments and upgrades. We've started work on some of these gameplay additions already and we hope to continue to improve and build out the experience. We are going hard at it.

Online Server Outage

Hey all,

Unfortunately, we received an email last night from our service provider. They are the people who host our online servers and they have suffered a recent outage. As a result, our in-game player data has been lost.

This affects online leaderboard scores, times etc, only. It does not include any personal data whatsoever.

However, rest assured that we are on the case and are aiming to restore our systems, and this will take us approximately one week to accomplish.

We’d like to take this opportunity to apologize for the inconvenience, and to thank you for your understanding in this matter.

We’ve been overwhelmed with the positive reception we’ve received since we launched Barton Lynch Pro Surfing back in November last year, and we look forward to continuing to support our game to provide the best surfing experience possible to our players.

Patch Release v.033

Please continue to feedback to help us to refine and improve. Here are the patch notes for Release v.033:

Note that post release, we will continue to update builds and add certain features as we have to date. It's business as usual and no changes to our approach with either feedback or updates.

Any change with a β€˜πŸŒŠβ€™ icon in front of change requests/fixes that have been brought to our attention by fellow players & QA. If you have any suggestions/bugs that you stumble upon, please let us know in the Steam forum.


INFORMATION ABOUT SAVE FILES:

Please note, if you have any current or old saved data stored then the ongoing build updates will not necessarily translate accurately to your save files. It's a little hit and miss - some features will apply to an older save and some will not. In most circumstances, in order for the changes to take effect it may be better to begin a new game and /or save file to ensure that the latest fixes are applied accurately. Apologies for this.

Early Access

Early Access

Hey thanks for taking an interest in BL Pro Surfing. 32 iterations later, and we are leaving Early Access today. Although its been a much longer journey than we anticipated, it has been for the better. The direct feedback we've received from you has helped make BL Pro Surfing a more solid and viable game, than when entered into EA. Without your direct input, we seriously would not have even been able to get to this point. We are genuinely grateful and humbled by the early access experience. Is there more to do? Yes. So things like adding a first person camera, or refining the Steam Deck experience. So this is not a victory lap, nor are we making any bold claims. For our small team, this is just a mini milestone that has been reached and we aiming to continue to improve the experience. So we are now getting on with the business of fixing and adding more of the features that you have asked for and we're in it for the long haul. Surfing is a really hard game to build.

So nothing changes and its business as usual. We'll be fixing, and updating and adding more content as we have done since our very first day one of EA.
