TOLEDO BEND ONLINE OPEN SERIES WINNER ANNOUNCED

The Toledo Bend Online Open Series has come to a dramatic end! For the second month in a row we’ve had the biggest event ever with over 2,100 anglers taking part. Make sure you read to the end of this article for news on the next tournament!

Let’s remind ourselves of what went down across the intense 3 rounds of competition in the Lake Toledo Bend Online Open Series!

Round 1: A MASSIVE BAG!

Round 1 saw one of our biggest limits to date, and as you’ll see later WestleynMonkey secured the coveted MONSTER BAG for this event with 81lbs. We also saw a community legend in second place who goes by the name of Bigtimer J.

Round 2: From 10th to 1st!

MrRichC has a blinding Round 2 taking him from 10th in Round 1 straight to the top in Round 2. Bigtimer J manages to maintain 2nd place while WestleynMonkey despite having a great Round 2 score slips down to 5th. In 6th we see a Sw1fty86TTV who has already won two of these events back to back!

Round 3: Out of nowhere!

Round 3, Championship Weekend, and it looked like there was potential for a 2-way battle for the number 1 spot between MrRichC and Bigtimer J. But there is always the possibility that someone has an absolute stormer in Round 3.

Here are the Super Six (the top 6 anglers) from the Toledo Bend Online Open Series!

A huge congratulations to Rustyfishpro who until Round 3 hadn’t even featured in the top 3 but came in with a MASSIVE 80lb 13oz which launched them to the number 1 spot and is the first Bassmaster Fishing 2022 online tournament win for Rustyfishpro.

We spoke to Rustyfishpro after his win to ask a few questions!

Benjamin – Congratulations on your Toledo Bend Online Open Series win, Rustyfishpro. What does the win mean to you?

Rustyfishpro - Winning my first Online Open Series feels great! It feels amazing that all the time and practice I’ve put in has finally paid off and it feels good! Benjamin – How do you prepare for these events?

Rustyfishpro – Practice. I spend about 2 hours before each attempt fishing the venue, trying new setups, lures, and spots to try and get the absolute most out of my attempts.

Benjamin – What was your go-to load out during the Toledo Bend Online Open Series?

Rustyfishpro – I really like the Fitzgerald rods and reels. I also use the Fitzgerald Fishing 40lb braided, black line (I am sponsored by Fitzgerald too which means I don’t need to pay for these items which is super useful). I got a lot of success using Diving Crank Baits like the 101 Baby Bass and the Wally Divers.

Benjamin – Finally, What advice would you give to players who have their sights set on winning one of our online tournaments?

Rustyfishpro – The advice I would give to a new player would be to be patient. Spend time at each venue learning where the fish are using a variety of lures to see what works for you.
Think about where you’re fishing, in shallow areas top water baits work well.

Try different reel speeds to get your lure in the zone. Most importantly though, have fun and don't get frustrated (we all do sometimes) walk away, and come back. The more time you put into in, the better you’ll get!

A Look Back!

We have had some fierce competition during the last few events, let’s take a minute to look back at the results we’ve had so far!

Our debut cross-platform online tournament, the 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic at Lake Hartwell saw Sw1fty86ttv take home the first Bassmaster Classic with UndeadFrog in 2nd and ScoobyHaze420 in 3rd.

HarryStankfoot came out swinging at the Chickamauga Lake Elite Series event knocking Sw1fty86ttv off the top spot down to 3rd. We also saw some new names appearing up at the top of the charts (maybe a sign of things to come?) and UndeadFrog and ScoobyHaze420 both still in the top 10.

HarryStankfoot makes it 2 for 2 with the win at the Lake Seminole Open Series, a very impressive result! The question is though, do you have what it takes to take the top spot at the Toledo Bend Online Open Series?

Rewards

Every player who takes part in the event will be rewarded with a participation jersey and the winner will be the only player in the world to receive the winner’s jersey. Keep scrolling to check ‘em out!

LAKE SEMINOLE ONLINE OPEN SERIES WINNER ANNOUNCED

https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/25385/Bassmaster_Fishing_2022_Bass_Lake_Bundle/

The 2022 Lake Seminole Open Series has come to a climactic close! Over 1,800 competitors took part in the event, and we saw the highest number of players take part across all thee rounds - making this the most competitive event to date!

Let’s remind ourselves of what went down across the intense 3 rounds of competition in the Lake Seminole Online Open Series!

Round 1: Let the battle commence!

Round 1 and we had some impressive limits coming in. SATYATEX was leading the way through most of the first round only to be beaten out at the last minute by DUSTALL6696. SATYATEX and BuCkEyEBoRn were right up there though, ready for a big Round 2!

Round 2: All change at the top!

An intense Round 2 completed, and the top 10 is now looking very different. We have new names coming up after some HUGE bags from BassingDreams and HarryStankfoot launching them both into the top 3 but it’s SATYATEX who takes the top spot in Round 2 with DUSTALL6696 dropping down to a still very respectable 6th place. It was all to play for in Round 3!

Round 3: Championship Weekend shakes things up!

Round 3, Championship Weekend, and the pressure was on. It was anyone’s to win and lose with the top of the leaderboard being so evenly matched going into the final round.

Here are the Super Six (the top 6 anglers) at the end of our first ever Online Open Series!

A MASSIVE congratulations to HarryStankfoot, our 2022 Lake Seminole Open Series Champion! An amazing effort considering in Round 1 HarryStankfoot was in 23rd place, what a comeback! That’s back-to-back wins now for HarryStankfoot having also won the Lake Chickamauga Online Elite Series in April. Can he make it 3 in a row, or will we see a new name gracing the top of the leaderboard?

Monster Bag

A new feature for this event is the MONSTER BAG! This is the angler who had the biggest bag from across all 3 rounds of the competition.

Congratulations to Baseballman1313 on an ENORMOUS 77lb 15oz limit in Round 2!

Thank you and congratulations to all the anglers who took part in the Lake Seminole Online Open Series. Keep your eyes peeled over the next few days for news on the next event!

LAKE SEMINOLE ONLINE OPEN SERIES: ROUND 2 RECAP

Championship weekend is upon us! Round 2 of the Lake Seminole Open Series is over, and the final round has begun!

Here are your leaders of the pack heading into the final round – the top 10 anglers after Round 2.

Dustall6696 had the lead going into Round 2 with a very impressive 76lb 7oz Round 1 limit, but it’s SATYATEX, who took the early lead in Round 1 who is back on the top spot after Round 2.

The top 10 has changed drastically with Dustall6696 dropping down to 5th. BassingDreams had a GARGANTUAN Round 2 bag which has taken them from not even featuring in the top 10 in Round 1, to now sitting in 2nd place! It’s a similar story for HarryStankfoot, who has climbed from 23rd in Round 1, to 3rd in Round 2! We can’t want to see who comes out on top!

ANGLER SPOTLIGHT: SW1FTY_8_6_TTV

Welcome to our first Anglers Spotlight. Today we have an interview with a player many of you in the community already know and if you don’t, he’s our 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic Champion Sw1fty86_TTV.

We talk with Sw1fty about how he prepares for online tournaments, adapting to changing conditions, and what winning the 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic meant to him. Let’s get stuck into it.

Benjamin - Thank you for taking some time to talk with us and congratulations on your win at our debut online event, the 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic at Lake Hartwell, and for coming third in our most recent event, the 2022 Online Chickamauga Elite! How long have you been playing Dovetail Games fishing titles?

Sw1fty - I started playing Euro Fishing back in 2015 and since then have played Fishing Sim World: Pro Tour and The Catch: Carp & Coarse. I compete in the monthly Dovetail Fishing League on Fishing Sim World which is a bit like the tournaments in Bassmaster Fishing 2022 and I’m pretty consistently top 3 every month. I think the Dovetail Fishing League has probably helped in some small ways but tournaments in Bassmaster are a lot more fun especially when you spot a lunker in the underwater camera. Will it or won’t it bite!?

Benjamin - How do you prepare for online tournaments?

Sw1fty - I prepare for online tournaments by spending as much time as I can out on the lake the event is being held on. I spend this time looking for hotspots, named legendary fish and trying to work out what setup is going work best once I find a location I like. I also will speak to other players in the community that do well on the game for their feedback and trade information.

Benjamin - What did winning the 2022 Online Bassmaster Classic mean to you?

Sw1fty - It meant a lot to me as it was the first online cross-platform tournament held on the game. That's special as there will only ever be one first tournament.

Benjamin - During the events if things aren’t going well, what do you do to adapt and start catching lunkers?

Sw1fty - It’s simple really I have a number of hotspots I use that are usually close together, I'll just move to a new spot until I land a big fish. There is no point sticking to one spot hoping it will get better if you aren’t catching fish.

Benjamin - What’s your go-to loadout for big bass?

Sw1fty - I always use a size 4/0 hook on a Jighead, drop-shot or any other hook type that allows for soft-plastics. The lures I use are the Jenko Fishing 7-inch Tremor Shad and the 8-inch Booty Shaker. Big lures catch big bass!

Benjamin - What advice would you give someone thinking about taking part in a tournament for the first time?

Sw1fty - Just give it a go. Don’t be worried and just have fun. Also as I stated earlier, don't be afraid to ask others for help, get onto Twitch and other streaming platforms, watch how people tackle the event, and learn from them.

Benjamin - What advice would you give to players who have their sights set on winning one of our online tournaments?

Sw1fty - Make sure you put the hours in before the tournament, the more the better. But don't be disheartened if you don't win, just have fun and aim for a top 25% finish that's still an awesome achievement.

Benjamin - You live stream all your attempts on Twitch, where can people tune in to watch and learn?

Sw1fty - You can find me on Twitch by searching for sw1fty86TTV. Hope to see you there, tight lines to you all, and good luck in your fishing journey.

Benjamin - Thanks for your time Sw1fty and good luck in the Lake Seminole Open Series Event taking place between May 6 - 23.
