[B]Thunder Rush - Will let you charge up your sword, and rush towards and attack several enemies at once.*
Thunder Strike - Will let you charge up you're sword, and blow back several enemies as you strike the ground.*
*You can do these attacks in mid-air as well.
We wouldn't have been able to come up with this without your helpful feedback, so thank you all!
More updates to come!
Cheers!
Just a Quick Reminder!
Hey folks,
Just wanted to say that if you haven’t yet, please try out our FREE prototype! By trying this out, you’ll notice the major differences when we release the official version via Early Access. [We took out the climb feature. It's gone forever!]
We’re still working out a few things, but are super excited to release very soon. There is no way we could have reached this level of quality without your feedback, advice, and encouragement.
You Heroes are the real MVPs 🙌🙌🙌
Sneak Peek of the Comic!
Aside from the non stop action you’ll experience with BE THE HERO, what else does it bring to your VR world? Comics, of course! You’ll learn the story of Kurogane and experience the powers that his mysterious mask carries. The comic will appear in front of you, and allow you to witness the story at your own pace.
(Fun fact: this was the prototype we used at Tokyo Sandbox back in April.)
Will you be able to chase down Asura👺 and put him in his place?
Although the game looks completely different now, you can still download our prototype!
Don’t forget to add us to your wishlist for Early Access!
Thanks and Happy weekend!
Tiltbrush Art and 360 Video of Be The Hero!
Today we bring our concept art to all forms of VR to enjoy, with audio reactive VR Art, 360 photos and videos! So grab your HMD and enter the world of Be The HERO!
Witness the colossal power of Asura👺and his relentless army of “Enki” (怨鬼) battle the legendaries heroes, Kurogane and Sakuya!
In order to enjoy the full experience of BE THE HERO, the player should enjoy the story portion. It is a VR Comic after all. This is why storyboarding is very important.
Our illustrator, Ishikawa, sits down with our producer Koji, to create these. Then the rest of the team at EXPVR reads it through, and we all discuss it as a team. Some things get added in, some thrown out, and sometimes we laugh because some rough sketches of the characters look derpy.
Here is an example of what a final panel looks like after the storyboard/rough draft process. Sakuya heals Kurogane after he is injured from a fight.
These detailed storyboards also help with setting up the VR action portion of the game. Where should the player be standing so the transition from comic-to-game is smooth? Is it an interesting angle? Is the forced perspective clear?
The whole process from storyboard to the final image takes about two months per episode, but our team is learning to work faster as we all get used to the process and tools. We're hoping the future episodes will be produced quicker but with the same quality!
Thanks for reading!
