Hello,

you have surely noticed that we have added a third chapter and also an ending for Beam. We overlooked a few things, but luckily we have a fantastic community that helps us make the game better together. Thank you very much for that.

Now we have just released a new patch for beam and hope that we have fixed most of what you have shown us and sent us. We are still working on the rest of the issues.

Chapter 3 Release and Summer Sale discount!

We released a new public patch for Beam (1.0.4r119s) on Steam.

Most changes were done on stream and we will continue to correct and modify with your suggestions.
Here are the details:

- Fixed missing control bindings for moving up and down in green beams. Now you can rebind those controls as intended.
- Improved performance in the whole game by fixing the core beam assign code for the beam collider volumes.
- Improved performance of ingame TVs by limiting their fps and only activating if a player is close.
- Improved the performance of fog sources by only executing their particle on trigger callbacks if the player is close.
- Improved ingame contrast of the settings menu for better readability.
- Removed unnecessary level parts in 1.1
- Fixed bug in 1.9 with cranes
- Fixed crane collision on the end of the hangar section.

- Changed lighting in 1.3 for better performance.

We released a new public patch for Beam (1.0.4r113s) on Steam. All changes were done on stream and we will continue to correct and modify with your suggestions.

Here are the details:


  • added missing subtitle in 1.4 to the language files
  • removed double point lights in almost all pipe sections for performance reasons moved the remaining lights to get a similar effect. More than 500 point lights were removed.
  • turned :red: beam around in 1.7 at the small barrel puzzle to avoid soft lock
  • added an additional :purple: beam in 1.10 to give a solution to get out of a potential soft lock
  • changed occlusion in 1.6 to avoid black frame on saw puzzle 2 (has to be tested)
