Update Beat Champion now to get access to the Singularity song pack!
This update is a big one! It's chock full of optimizations, but most notably, it includes a new song pack.
The Singularity song pack has 2 additional songs:
Whoa Pt. 2 by Meaux Green (1:37)
Space Orbit by NOV3MB3R & TOFFEE (3:18)
This song pack features songs that are fast!
Actually, they are our fastest songs yet! We doubled the BPM to make songs that are truly insane! Clocking in at 200 and 256 BPM, they are sure to satisfy those of you looking for more speed.
Future songs will be continually added to this pack and new packs will be released on a semi-regular basis!
Optimizations and Changes
This update is huge for overall player experience. We finally changed the renderer to forward shading which enabled us to use better anti-aliasing. Textures and fonts have been reworked to provide crystal clear graphics.
Some other changes that were made:
Optimized laser interactions
Updated the Outrun arena appearance
Hand coloring has been made more obvious
Various loading times cut down
Significantly improved controller haptics make it easier to know when you missed a note
Note hit sounds enabled by default
Improved player stats shown after finishing a song
Slight changes to overall ranking (as a result some leaderboard entries have been cleared)
The Note Block Update
This update has a number of new features, the most significant being the addition of different note block shapes.
You can select between the default (box) or spheres by going to Settings>graphics. More shapes will be added in the future as requested.
This update also allows you to fine tune your fist orientation relative to your controller, has improvements to note animations, left or right handed mode can be selected in settings, and fixes a few bugs.
Minor Bug Fixes
This update fixes a few minor bugs.
Beat Champion (v1.0.40.020):
Character limit implemented on leaderboards for long usernames
Selection laser made thicker
Beat Champion Editor Tool DLC (v0.10.022):
Background effects editor grid rotation playback bug sometimes caused the grid to rotate when it was not supposed to
Background effects editor laser would turn off on the last keyframe when enabled

Beat Champion Release Date Announcement
I am pleased to announce the upcoming release of Beat Champion into Early Access!
Beat Champion will be releasing on Friday, March 6 @ 7:00PM EST.
Beat Champion development was started in an attempt to mix up the rhythm game genre, to introduce new types of gameplay, and to make it more challenging overall. I think Beat Champion achieves that and am very pleased with how it has turned out. Beat Champion introduces 3 major new gameplay features:
Notes can be 4 colors, instead of just 2
Notes vanish and reappear
Notes come from multiple directions
These 3 basic features completely change the paradigm of VR rhythm games.
Beat Champion launches with 10 songs, with 4 difficulties each: easy, medium, hard, and champion. Champion mode is locked until the player has achieved a certain score on the other difficulties.
In addition, Beat Champion comes with the Beat Champion Editor Tool DLC for free. The Editor allows you create and share your own songs and song packs, modify game color palettes, and even change note colors and hit sounds.
It's been a long and windy road getting here, so I hope you all enjoy it! Please join the Official Beat Champion Discord group to connect with other players and share feedback with us!
We're Still Here
I know I've been a bit quiet on updates, but it's because I've been so focused on the latest updates to the game. It's about 90% feature complete for launch into early access. Though, I still don't have a launch date, and for a good reason.
I've been working hard on UI overhauls and LIV integration. I've had a small, but fantastic team of dedicated players around the world helping test and provide feedback to keep refining the game.
I've recently posted new videos and screenshots on the store page, showing the major overhauls to the game.
Now, the reason for delaying launch into early access... I realize the importance of modding VR rhythm games to the community, and I want to support it as much as possible. Some mods are already available in the current pre-release build, but there's still a lot to do.
I'm now shifting focus to develop the Beat Champion Editor Tool, which will come FREE with every copy of Beat Champion.
The Editor Tool will allow you to create your own custom tracks for the game, create and change color schemes for the levels and the note blocks, and more. Since I've been using a hastily put together tool up to this point, I have to start from scratch to make something truly amazing. That is the reason for the delay. I expect to launch before the end of the year, but I'm trying to be conservative. Once something becomes more solid, you'll see a launch date in Steam.
Even though the beta has ended, I've started a Discord server for people to join and start hanging out.
Beta is Live
We're proud to say our beta is live. We've been getting great feedback from our gradually growing community. Our players have really helped shape this game.
We don't have a release date yet, because we really want this to be perfect. Stay tuned for updates!
We're Getting Closer to Beta!
We just started our final round of pre-beta testing and made our biggest update yet! We're so excited and very close to opening beta testing to the world! Be sure to keep an eye out for updates, so you don't miss your chance to sign up!
Beat Champion has Started Pre-Beta Testing
First post. The pressure is unbearable.
We are glad to announce we've started a limited pre-beta testing round with a few select testers and promoters. We're using this opportunity to solicit feedback and crush bugs before the official beta release; which we're targeting for sometime in early 2019. Sign-ups will be on our website.
We'll keep you all posted as we progress and post any videos or live streams as they come out.
