In this version we added some needed privacy options for players, getting ready for a broader community.
There are also a lot of enhancements and additions for existing items and features such as the Pickups and the Ticks collection mode.
And for the first time, these release notes will actually be accessible in-game!
New Features
* More pickup features!
** Pickups can now be rotated and flipped. Ever wanted a cat sitting on the ceiling? Now it's finally possible!
** Pickups are now called 'Pickup/Decoration' and the option to set them as decorations is better marked in their properties window
** Even more pickup contributions! (Thanks Gors and fervour!)
** New pickup category - Tools - Some images were moved there from Misc as well
* Ticks mode enhancements
** A new tutorial popup will explain the Ticks mode better and with much less text then before
** When getting a dethroned update, the client will refresh the Ticks records for that adventure, showing the correct values - even if you are not there physically (virtually?)
** The amount of collected Ticks will now show up in the chat after you complete a collection, whether you made first place or not
** While in Ticks mode, the HUD will show the current record that you are trying to beat
** The Tick animation on the Ticks button was replaced with a crown since the animated Tick was a bit too distracting
* Halcyons can now be set to instantly explode when triggered!
** These highly unstable Halcyons will be marked accordingly
* Our logo was added to the beginning (Yes, we actually have a logo!)
* In-game release notes
** You can now check out the latest release notes from within the game
** After a new release is released, an update about the new release notes will be in the updates panel
** You can also access the latest release notes via the player panel
* Incognito mode
** A new option in the login screen will now let players play the game in 'Incognito mode'
** While in this mode, the chat will be completely disabled, you will be untraceable, and you will not see other players or be seen by other players around you
** Other features in the game should work normally, including guestbooks/updates/etc...
** This option is always off by default, and players will be warned about missing features when they choose it
** This is NOT an offline mode - you will obviously still need an internet connection to play
* Block player
** It is now possible to block and unblock players via the player details panel (You can access it by clicking on avatars, or nicknames in the chat)
** A new chat command /blocklist will show you all the players you currently block
** Blocking players will block all their incoming chat and hide them from your gameplay
* You can now see when an adventure was created in the adventure info panel (TAB while playing)
* Some transitions are now smoother
** The black circles that transition between teleportations
** The initial search for recently created adventures before the game starts
* The 4th Mitsu's Tales episode now has better explanations about how to sneak around Emori fighters
* The 'Rapid Dash' super power in Mitsu's tales was renamed to 'Spirit Dash' :)
* 'D:' will also show the ':O' emoticon
* The 'Running' skill description in the character sheet will now also mention the SHIFT key alternative
Bug Fixes
* The Pickup look picker would remain open if left open while the item was deleted - resulting in a possible crush
* The 'Spirit Dash' bug was fixed
* Post dates in the guestbooks (and some other places) now show years if needed
* ESC will cancel the 'Reached the void' dialog now
* The wind ambiance was randomly playing during the login screen
* Empty lines (even if they include spaces) were still being sent via chat
* The ':/' emoticon will no longer appear when inside a sentence (http:// will be fine again!)
* A mysterious message about a level up of an unnamed player could potentially show when a player has a really bad connection
* The Summon epic is now limited to 5 per adventure, since there are only 5 Summon colors
===
That's all folks.
Enjoy!
New version release 0.4.225b
A huge version this time, we several new features!
This time we added a big feature that enhances the replayability of adventures - letting players experience the same content with a very different purpose in mind.
Your art donations are great! So we also improved the recently released Pickup item, making it easier to manage and also adding an option to be a decoration instead of an active item.
Another improvement is in the emoticons area - We expanded the variety and added some extra unique emoticons that can be unlocked by completing certain tasks.
On top of these additions, there are several more improvements and fixes as we get closer to the official release of the game!
* The Ticks have arrived!
** Ticks have invaded Kryll and your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to grab as many of them as you can!
** Once you complete an adventure (no need to perfect), you will gain access to the Ticks mode
** Toggle the Ticks mode via the button that appears at the top right - or [F1]
** Once in Ticks mode, night will fall and Ticks will populate the adventure
** Though randomly populated - the Ticks will always appear at the same places in the adventure - so you can learn where they are for future attempts
** You only have a very limited time in which you can collect as much as you can, before morning comes again and the Ticks disappear
** Some Ticks may be unreachable, and it is very unlikely that you will grab all of them before the time runs out
** More 'open' adventures will have more Ticks, and cramped up adventures will have less (Usually between 100-500 ticks)
** Adventures with more Ticks will give you more time for the collection event
** To complete your collection event, you can either wait it out or toggle it yourself - There is no need to reach the shrine
** Leaving the adventure or restarting it will also stop any ongoing collection event (you will still be credited if you reach a high score)
** To get a record you must pass the current record (Getting the same amount will not get you your reward)
** Managing to collect the most Ticks in an adventure will crown you the master of that adventure, giving you some rewards:
*** A crown will show above your head in that adventure to players around you
*** A crown will show in the local chat of that adventure
*** Your record, avatar and name will show in the top right corner of that adventure
*** Your Magic Marker will gain Tick color powers
** If the creator of the adventure republishes it, the Ticks record will be cleared and all the Ticks locations in that adventures will be randomized again
** You will get an update if someone dethrones you, or if the adventure was republished
** New music will play as you engage in the Ticks collection! (Some players might remember it from Temporal)
** Some tips for grabbing the most Ticks:
*** Initial positioning is crucial! - Try to find out what starting position will give you the fastest access to the most Ticks
*** You may want to 'set up' the place first - Pushing blocks, opening doors or killing enemies may save you precious seconds later on
*** Locking yourself to the adventure can be useful - Remember, only restarting or leaving is forbidden - but respawning is fine
* Chat emoticons now have a dedicated skill slot in the character sheet.
** More emoticons were added!
** Unlock special emoticons by performing certain tasks - Check out the skill description to figure out what.
* The Pickup item had some interesting changes and additions:
** The pickup look chooser is now much more convenient and divided into categories for easy browsing
** Many new skins for the pickups - (Thanks Gors and Eeveeiott!)
** The blink of pickup-able pickups is now more prominent
** You can set the pickup to be a decoration, in this state the pickup will not blink and the player cannot pick it up
*** You can still make the item appear with a trigger, or set a name for it
*** The respawn color is disabled if the pickup is set to be a decoration
* The Mitsu Tales music is now different for each episode (based on it's content)
** There is also a brand new music track as well! You can check it out in episodes 1, 4 and 7
* You can now search for adventures that contain race flags, in the adventure finder
* Pickups were added to various existing Mitsu's tales episodes
* The daily bonus section in the character sheet now shows how much time is left for the next bonus (not only in the tooltip)
* All the non platforming/action skills (like Gold Magnet, Magic marker, etc...) will not be locked by your effective level when testing your own adventures
BUG FIXES:
* The conditions for getting the perfected Mitsu's tales episodes' achievements where very wrong
* The tutorial adventures do not show completions/perfections/+1 counts on the map anymore
* The caverns Obelisk and Slab where accidentally replaced with a forest Sign and Plague
* Copy pasting the Dragon mouth to an opposite wall would not flip it as needed
* ESC didn't close the Mitsu's Tales panel
Enjoy!
New version release 0.4.222b
Version time!
This time, a couple of new items (one of them is a new addition to the normal items!) and a story episode that shows some of the things that can be done using those items.
And ofc, a few fixes as well :)
* New Mitsu's tales episode (episode X)!
* New story normal item - the Pickup
** Finally Mitsu can collect not only shurikens during his adventures
** Pickups can be configured to have different looks
** Like points of interest, the pickups can appear when triggered, and will send a trigger when touched
** You can choose out of 4 different effects that will show when the pickup is touched
** Pickups can be respawned and named
** We are looking to expand the variety of pickup looks - and you might be able to help as well! More on that later.
* New epic - the Pickup Rush
** Force the player to collect certain pickups in a set amount of time (can also be configured to not be time limited)
** This mini-event can also be configured to add bonus time for every pickup touched
** The rush will automatically work on all the pickups with the same respawn color as the rush
** Triggering the respawn will reset the rush (and it's items)
** Can be configured to send a win trigger or fail trigger based on the result of the rush
** The rush will show on the HUD, and can include a personalized text
** New achievement for a successful rush (which is in an adventure that does not belong to you)
** Since the event is represented on the HUD - you can only have a single pickup rush event in an adventure
* A small change to the 4th tutorial, showing the usage of pickups
Executable only:
* The 'Turn on fullscreen' popup will not show for the executable version anymore (the last fullscreen state will be remembered)
* Quitting via the 'Quit' button in the settings will now save the last position and size of the game - which will be restored when started again
Bug fixes:
* WIP areas will not show in the search results anymore
* Swords with death messages will be removed after publishing an adventure, to avoid them being stuck in impossible places
* Racing and pressing Z to respawn caused the race music to stop and the normal music to start playing
* Under certain conditions the WIP epic stayed even when deleted (visual bug)
* The "Update Get!" popup will not appear anymore after the update panel has been opened
* Getting the 'already has an unpublished adventure' death message now shows correctly
* Minor fix to episode 9 preventing players from activating a goblin trigger that should not be activated
Enjoy!
New version release 0.4.221b
Version time!
This time, we finally add lots of Steam achievements, as well as a couple of new features and some fixes.
* Steam achievements!
** 33 achievements were created for Steam
** More achievements will be added in the future
** Veteran players who have already performed the tasks for those achievements can still get them by performing the following tasks:
*** Perform a new completion
*** Perform a new perfection
*** Open a race replay which you have won
*** Complete an unranked adventure that you didn't create
*** Complete and perfect a new story episode
*** Teleport to each base floor
*** Level up
*** There are a few secret achievements which you can also get if you know what you are doing - please don't discuss those here
* The Summon epic now has a new togglable option: 'Also respawn'
** Checking this option will also make the summon epic respawn/reset-position of the marked items/creatures
** To retrigger the summon, the trigger should be turned off and on again
* Right clicking a chat channel will now toggle between 3 settings:
** Normal - Chat will be shown and heard even if the chat panel is closed
** Hidden - Chat will not be shown, but will be heard if the chat panel is closed
** Hidden&Silenced - Chat will not be shown or heard if the chat panel is closed
* Caps Lock is now supported in chat
* Mitsu will not be able to attempt to leave tales episodes to the left or right - as if blocked by invisible walls
Bug fixes:
* 'press Z to restart' shifted a bit too low in the death popup
* The settings button stopped functioning while playing the game (ESC still worked)
* ESC didn't close the player-panel and the adventure-info windows
* Ignoring the level up indicator would make the sparks remain active even when you enter edit mode
Enjoy!
New version release 0.4.219b
A new version is here!
This now, a new episode which introduces an interesting new item into the mix!
* Mitsu's tales episode IX can now be played! ** This episode shows off the new Nudge feature, and advances the story
* The Nudge epic ** Nudge creatures that usually roam in specific patterns to act as you wish
** Make them jump, turn, stop at their tracks or drop down thin bridges
** Works only on creatures that roam, which are currently Bonons, Enura, Cadmeons, Mooks and Emori fighters when set on patrol
** When stopped, the creature will still harm the player (it is not stunned) and will resume normal roaming after being hit, stunned or dropped
** Nudges can optionally have triggers which can set them to be active or not
* Emory fighters now have a new setting that let them have no alert vision, and only become alerted only when hit or touched by Mitsu
* Points of interest will now have a configurable respawn colors, letting creators easily restart them when needed
* Enhancements to the adventure finder!
** Will show up instantly after login (so it won't interfere with things that show up after login) and Closing it will resume the game instantly
** The results for the first automatic search (the latest creations) will show all together and not one by one
** Added a one time tutorial for the first time it opens
** WIP and Passage adventures are now marked correctly
** Unranked icon changed
** Ability to browse the results using the movement keys (Arrows/WASD); ENTER will open the map for a marked result
** C will open/close the search criteria window
** TAB will start selecting text fields, and jump between them
** ENTER will execute a new search
* The ESCAPE key can now be used throughout the game to close popups/windows
** Will also remove the focus from any text box if it is currently being edited
** Will also close the chat, without discarding what was written in the chat-line
** If everything is already closed, it will toggle the settings menu
** Notice that in the web version ESC also exists fullscreen - this cannot be changed
* Text SFX's collision is much smaller, letting you place several at a very close proximity in the editor
* Swapped the left/right buttons on all platforms to cause less confusion
* Shift+clicking while in inspect mode will now switch to normal draw mode, so copy-pasting items will be possible
**Bug fixes:**
* Emory fighters would potentially stop patrolling after killing Mitsu (or behave unexpectedly)
* When the background color picker showed at the top (due to the editor scrolled to the bottom) some of it's buttons could not be pressed
* The XP bar will now be above the Mitsu's tales UI
* Passage areas will now longer show the 'unranked adventure' tutorial
* Emori units will get alerted when directly attacked by Mitsu
* When downloading a new version at some (highly unlikely) situations the older version was cached and used instead
Enjoy!
New version release 0.4.217b
Ever wanted to find a highly ranked platforming adventure that you didn't perfect yet?
How about a very difficult puzzle in the Sapphire caverns? Or an adventure with both music and art in it?
Maybe you just want to remember where 'sinep' was?
Now you can finally find these, and much more, with the new adventure finder!
Introducing - The adventure finder!
Search for adventures based on many different fields, sorted by either date of creation or rank
The results of the search can open the map at the adventure's location
Read the tooltips in the criteria settings window to learn more about what you can search for
The adventure finder will open up automatically after login, and show the latest creations around the world
Open/close the finder with 'F' from pretty much anywhere (including the editor)
The map has a new button that will also open the finder
Notice that the search results will only include adventures that are not farther then 300 map slots away (that's VERY far) from your current position
This is not the case with the default 'recent creations' search, which shows all the newest adventures globally
New normal item - The logic Set/Reset (SR), also known as a Flip-flop gate
A simple logic gate that will make turning on and off triggers far easier then before
Gets an 'ON trigger' and 'OFF trigger' inputs, and has a single output trigger
If the ON trigger is activated, the output trigger will start to be constantly active
If the OFF trigger is activated, the output trigger will start to be constantly inactive
You can decide what the initial state of the output trigger will be
Notice that you can re-trigger the ON or OFF as much as you want to turn the output on or off
If some input trigger remains constantly active (for example, if the ON trigger is constantly active) - it will not change the output until that input trigger stops being active and returns to be active again
The 'claim adventure' button on the popup that shows when you enter the void, will now have a tooltip explaining the gradual increase in cost and 5k gold cap.
general button press, error and locking sfx changes
Bug fixes:
Spikes will no longer prevent items originally placed on them from respawning
Enjoy!
New version release 0.4.216b
A new version has been released!
As usual, new versions will update themselves automatically.
New features:
Unranked adventures will now give twice the gold (from shurikens and killing things) of a ranked adventure
- Also removed the obsolete +Gold marks on the map, making the map much cleaner to look at
- Added a new tutorial about the unranked bonus when entering an unranked area for the first time
Epic items can now be tested in sandbox mode (you get a specific amount of each, suitable for testing)
Guestbooks for any adventure can now be read directly from the map!
- You can see the guestbook button in the map teaser popup that shows up
- Click the button, or press G to open the guestbook of that adventure - no need to reach it first
TAB and Shift+TAB can now be used to select and jump between text boxes while editing items in the editor
Premium account teaser will now show for trial players after they login, if they finished the tutorial already
- Can be dismissed by pressing TAB (or the designated button)
Changed the Greenlight banner at the login screen to a Steam banner
ISSUE FIX: If someone keeps disconnecting and reconnecting from the chat too much, they will have a 24h cooldown from the chat (resets upon relogin)
Bug fixes:
Resizing the game's window while the game was paused caused a visual glitch
Emory fighters' vision cone would remain after their death in certain cases (Thanks mostro!)
Open chat (and some other UI elements) could have potentially obstruct the "Entered the void" question popup, making it impossible to interact with
When posting on a guestbook that does not belong to the current adventure (opening it from the updates feeds / map) the post count on that guestbook would show a wrong value
Completing an adventure for the first time before the area name banner disappeared would cause the banner to get stuck until leaving the adventure
The player lookup nickname textbox did not support max length nicknames
Below Kryll is now available for download!
