We decided to make Bernackels' Shoggoth free to play! We hope you will enjoy our game and be finally able to find someone to play with. Just invite some friends - it's free!

Patch 2.1

The recent update includes:


  • New randomize button in the Lobby. The Server is now able to switch players around randomly that are not ready yet.
  • Bug fixed where the player character would vanish like a decoy after it was teleported.
  • Bubble active time and spawn percentage reduced.
  • “Game Over” added for all players after the time runs out.
  • Legendary Stealth-item fixed, now all players in a team will get the effect.
  • Other minor visual fixes in the interface.

Patch 2.0

The recent update includes:


  • Steam Achievements have been added.

  • New Spectator modes: 3rd Person and Free Flow.
  • The Server is no longer bound to play as a Hunter.
  • It is now possible to join an ongoing game as a Spectator.
  • New Feature: a countdown will end the game after 20 minutes.

  • New Ability: Seekers are now able to resurrect fallen teammates.
  • A faint light has been added to the character for better navigation in dark areas. This light can’t be seen by other players.
  • Hunters can’t open and close doors quietly anymore.
  • Quietly closed doors will not close completely.
  • Seekers can no longer be killed by a single fire-spray.

  • Added a timer for stealth, bubble and night vision items.
  • Fixed a bug where the server could not start the game from the lobby.
  • Player Timeout has been increased for a better connectability.
  • Improved Physics behaviour and stability.
  • Improved decal performance.
  • Fixed a frequent crash that would occur when playing with 4 or more players.
  • Nameplates will now always face the player.

Patch 1.3

The recent update includes:


  • Shoggoth is now available in Japanese, Russian, Korean, Chinese (simplified) and Chinese (traditional).

  • Introduced a very short cooldown (0.2 seconds) on all abilities. This prevents a rare case where you would lose control over your character while spamming an ability.

  • Fixed an Issue with the decoy in connection with dragon fire.

  • Improved search times in server list.

  • Items are now stackable when bought from the in game shop.

The recent update includes:



  • The UI has been updated to support more languages.

  • Shoggoth is now available in German.

  • Fixed an issue where players didn't get a character on game start with 4 or more players.

  • Relevant gameplay tips now appear on the loading screen and at the end of each game.

  • The score screen now saves data of leaving players.

  • Added more Information in the Intro tips.

  • Fixed an issue with disappearing nameplates.

  • Fixed an issue where the hunter couldn't kill the seekers.

  • Improved collision behavior between Characters.

  • Both hunters are now red.

  • System messages now appear when a player is caught or leaves the level.

  • Fixed a game crash during level transfer.

  • We greatly reduced the time it takes to connect to servers.


Patch 1.1

The recent update includes:


  • It is now possible to play as a Hunter during the Intro. An option in the escape menu was added to switch between Seekers and Hunters.

  • Improved collision detection for entering landing mode. This prevents Characters from falling down unintentionally.

  • Keys periodically emit sounds to better locate them. We added this information in the Intro.

  • Fixed minor sound and interaction issues in the menu.

  • Objectives in the Score Screen are now presented with respective icons.

Patch 1.0





The recent update includes:

  • New spectator mode: You are now able to interact with the environment while spectating! Interactions invoke a 60 seconds cooldown.

  • Disappearing meshes on clients have been fixed.

  • A workaround for the green flashing screen problem has been implemented. You can now launch your game in window mode.

  • The maximum number of hints you can find in the tutorial was corrected to 41.

  • A connection problem was fixed, where the last server you played on would not list after leaving the game.

  • Transforming into items now works while on the ground.

  • Light shimmering through walls and floors has been reduced.
