Classic Mode Changes (v.0.3.2)

Hi everyone!

This update is to set Classic mode from the two other modes and give it more of a casual feel.

HOTFIX

  • Fixed Scenario crashing
  • Fixed some Items and Skills causing crash


NEW

  • New Classic mode powerups!
  • Powerups will spawn on the field every few seconds
  • Each powerup, when picked up, has an effect
  • The effect can either buff the user, debuff the foe, or change the field!
  • You can now buy Skills in Classic!
  • You can now buy Items in Classic!
  • You can now buy Spells in Classic!


TWEAKS

  • More info panels in Classic


BUFFS

  • Buff duration doubled
  • Debuff duration doubled


NERFS

  • No nerfs this patch!


BUG FIXES

  • Fixed EXP rendering bug

Adventure Mode Update (v.0.3.1)

Hi everyone!

I'm excited to unveil the first update since the Steam release: the Adventure mode update!

NEW

  • New Scenario quests!
  • Each Scenario quest now have 3 quests that can range from completing a level in a certain amount of time or using moves of specific elements!
  • Finished quests are tracked and completing a quests rewards SP (Spell points)!
  • Bew loot drops!
  • Defeated Bews in Scenario and Classic now have drops!
  • Each different Bew may drop something different. Doggie can drop Fur while Hamstorch can drop Charcoal!
  • Expanded Exchange mode!
  • You can now purchase Equips, Items, and Spells alongside new Bews!
  • Equips and Items require specific loot and BP to be crafted.
  • Spells can only be unlocked using SP.
  • Bew costs adjusted.
  • Adventure mode!
  • Build your own team using Bews and equipment you have unlocked!
  • Fight against the toughest opponents yet, led by a mysterious enemy team captain!
  • 2 new Adventure levels! (will add to this next update, promise!)
  • 1 new Bew!
  • 3 new Moves!
  • 3 new Skills!
  • 8 new Equips!
  • 3 new Items!
  • 1 new Spell!
  • New Zoom settings!

Phoenix Peak Update (v.3.0)

Hi everyone!

The game is finally out!

Here's patch notes for those who have played the Itch version:

NEW

  • New stage, Phoenix Peak!
  • 23 new Scenario levels!
  • 30 new Moves!
  • 2 new Items!
  • 2 new Skills!
  • Complete story for Phoenix Peak and a few old levels!
  • New Release combo counter! Shows number of Spawn released hit and damage dealt.
  • Revamped Classic mode Bew unlock system! Only certain Bews are unlocked automatically upon being seen
  • Revamped music! All music replaced, but still retains the same mood!
  • New volume control options!
  • New Experience system! Does nothing now, but will be involved with the new Adventure mode in the future!
  • Added tracers to pointers to make them easier to track.


TWEAKS

  • Levex info panel made more aesthetically pleasing
  • Quotes now play more often in fights
  • Learnsets updated with new moves
  • Iceshard enemy AI modified
  • Updated Move info and tip text
  • Level drop text made brighter
  • Other menu options disappear upon selecting one
  • Energy system tweaked (Energy will now regenerate slighly slower but both sides get Max Energy more often)
  • Drops now aggregated to prevent a long list of things
  • Made Scenario 1-14 MUCH more manageable

  • Growl - debuff duration increased
  • Stunner - lasts longer


NERFS

  • Pincer - damage decreased, added windup
  • Hydro - cost increased
  • Sludge - cost increased
  • Slam - damage decreased
  • Acid - damage decreased


BUG FIXES

  • Fixed Wildfire bug
  • Fixed certain Moves crashing the game on level end
  • Fixed Energy bar crashing the game occassionally
  • Removed Update Available notif that crashes the game
  • Fixed crashing randomly after Classic rounds
  • Fixed Move cooldown not working

Pre-release Update (v.3.0)

Hi everyone!

The game has hit 300 wishlists. I would like to welcome and thank everyone for this achievement! And don't worry, the game is coming out soon! Here's a sneak peak! Game should be out within the next 2 weeks, so stay tuned!

As for the development of the game itself, the main reason why the next update is taking a bit long is because of the amount of content that will be added (and, well, I still have to work a full-time job. But that's always been the case).

  • The next Scenario stage is slated to have 23 (possibly 24) levels (levels 1-20 have been programmed in and are ready to go!).
  • As with every new stage, this means new characters, new moves, new abilities, and new level elements (only a handful of these are needed to be added)!
  • I will also be implementing a character experience system, to better incentivize Classic mode runs and to set the stage for the next game mode! (no progress on this yet, but it shouldn't take TOO long)
You can play the game right now on Itch, but it's highly recommended that you just wait for this here Steam release, as it would have more content and (hopefully) less bugs.
