Beyond Sunset is now out in Early Access and we’ve seen a lot of interest from ya’ll! Content creators are playing, gaming media are sharing, and there are positive reviews incoming! All that makes us extremely giddy and very grateful to all of you who bought the game, played and reviewed.
So, we have an idea. Let’s all play together!
This Saturday, Nov 11, around 7-8 PM CET / 1-2 PM EST / 10-11 AM PST / 7-8 AM NZ, let’s all sit down, switch on Beyond Sunset, and play! Let’s make the peak of concurrent players skyrocket on Steam!
And that’s not all: the devs will be present on our Discord server to answer all your questions about the game (and not only!).
If you played our game, please leave a review. We’re not asking for good reviews. We’re asking for reviews.

We’re finally here! It’s an exciting and touching moment for all of us. We can finally share the fruit of years of our work.
Thank you for supporting us, have fun, and after you play - please leave your Steam review. We want (and need!) to know what you think to improve what we can and deliver even better episodes later on.
Oh yeah, about later on - here’s the plan!
This Early Access version contains 3 out of 5 planned episodes.
It should take you around 4 to 8 hours to complete, depending on your skills.
New episodes will be published in approx. 3-month intervals.
Early Access is $9.99, the full price after completion will be $19.99
You won’t have to buy it again. Early Access will unlock the full version.

We reckoned this would be a fair way to reward our Early Access supporters for helping us make the game the best it can be.
Regarding updates - MUST KNOW
We’re using the GZDoom engine, which means that every update in the future may disable your past saves. This is what the engine does.
To mitigate the problem, we’ve made it possible to start from any episode you want. So even if you can’t use your old save, you can hop in from Episode 2 or 3.
Also, we will publish the updates on a separate Steam branch. This way you will be able to continue on your old save but without the update. We’ll post a guide to switching branches when an update comes out.

Beyond Sunset isn’t just a shooter. It’s also an RPG with storytelling, dialogue, side missions, and puzzles.
In case you need help with progressing, we’ve prepared an official walkthrough. Check it out here on Steam or here, in the Player’s Guide. But do it only if you must! We want to you try and overcome all the challenges yourself.:)

Finally, if you see a bug, you can help us by letting us know what it is, where it is, and what your PC specs are. Post in our Bug Reports Thread on Steam, ideally attaching a screenshot or a video to help us reproduce the problem.

Remix!
Hello!
You have absolutely no idea how ecstatic we get when we see people using our game as an inspiration, be it fanarts of the characters or remixed soundtrack. It makes us positively giddy!
So, when we got tipped off that a young and very talented lad has remixed the music so close to the premiere, we decided to use it for one of our minitrailers. Here it is!
The premiere of Beyond Sunset is approaching fast, and if you’re growing impatient (like we’ve heard some people do), we made a list of things for you to do to prepare!
Of course, you don’t actually *have to* do any of it to enjoy Beyond Sunset – but it won’t hurt either!
So, what do we have in mind?
The most obvious thing will be playing Doom. It’s the OG game and ours is made using the same (tho improved on) engine. If you want to get a hang of the most basic of GZDoom technology, it’s THE game to play!
There are also a few other games worth playing as a way of preparing for the release of Beyond Sunset (and simply for the pleasure of playing a good game). These include Deus Ex, Cultic, Hedon Bloodrite, and more!
Actually, go check out our open letter – all the games which signed the letter we can truly recommend.
But what if you don’t want to play games at the moment? Well, there are also other things to do:
Read Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson – some aspects of our game were inspired by the plot;
Read also the wonderful and colorful cyberpunk comics by Moebius;
Listen to the music composed by Karl Vincent, the synthwave master who made the soundtrack for our game!
Watch some movies like Johnny Mnemonic, The Matrix, Blade Runner (including the sequel), Automata, or Ghost in the Shell.

It’s one of the favourite days on the year – Halloween! So, as we’re fans ourselves, we want to wish you a happy Retroween!
It’s Halloween but in Beyond Sunset, so it’s retro, get it? Eh, I should probably stick to making games. Anyway, have a great time!
Did we just kill the creator of God of War?
So… Something happened. Actually, it happened some time ago but we really wanted to share it with you at this time of the year.
So we might have a life on our conscience. Or many lives, really. Just don’t call the police, we can explain!
Some time ago David Jaffe, the father and creator of God of War, decided to stream himself playing Beyond Sunset. And apparently, our game killed him. Multiple times, in fact. There’s even video evidence posted on YouTube.
So, our sincere condolences to David Jaffe for dying in Beyond Sunset. Please don’t report us for murder!
(We hope you know it’s all an elaborate joke.)

We’ve just announced a community graffiti challenge, and that got us thinking. How would other games look like if they were happening in the Beyond Sunset world?

Create a pixel art graffiti fit to reside on the walls of Sunset City and send it to us – the winning graffiti will be added to the game as actual street art!
The contest runs Oct 26 - Nov 10. Make sure you’ve read the T&C, and when you do, send us your creations at fanart@moviegames.pl. Remember to send us two versions of your art, one in PSD and one in PNG. The graffiti should be no larger than 64x64 pixels.

So, like with every game of this kind, there are bosses. In Beyond Sunset, every episode ends with an epic fight with one of the very unique bosses.
