We’re celebrating the spookiest and most mysterious holiday of the year alongside you! May your ventures into misty, haunted woods become even more thrilling and imbued with Halloween magic. We know you’re looking forward to new challenges and fresh content, and we’re excited to share that our team is conjuring up a spine-chilling new update. Our goal is to deliver something that’s not just high-quality but also deeply engaging, packed with exciting new mechanics and content.
Here's a sneak peek into what we’re developing.
Punishment System for a Fair Gaming Environment
We're committed to creating a comfortable and fair environment for all our players. That’s why we're working on a behavior monitoring system that will more effectively enforce rule compliance.
How Does It Work?
The Punishment system automatically collects data and analyzes each player’s behavior based on reports from other users. Some penalties will be issued automatically, while others will be imposed following our review.
Types of Penalties
Temporary and Permanent Bans for Cheating: If a player accumulates a significant number of reports related to cheating, their account may be temporarily or permanently banned.
Chat Mute for Toxic Behavior: Players exhibiting toxic behavior will face communication restrictions. This will help reduce negativity in the game, affecting both text and voice chat.
Reward Restrictions for Frequent Early Exits: Players who frequently leave games early will temporarily lose eligibility for match participation rewards. This measure promotes accountability, enhances team-based outcomes, and discourages early exits.
Purpose of the System
We’re confident these measures will help create a more enjoyable environment for all and allow everyone to have a better gaming experience.
Weapon Handling and Shooting Mechanics
In our next update, we’re focused on enhancing the gameplay experience related to weapon handling. These changes aim to improve the realism, precision, and enjoyment of shooting, making each weapon more unique and intuitive.
Enhanced Muzzle Flash Effects:
Muzzle flashes now feature more realistic lighting and particle effects, creating sharper, more immersive visuals with every shot.
Unique Deterministic Recoil Patterns:
Each weapon now has a unique, deterministic recoil pattern, allowing for precise hit registration on the server and better control of shooting.
Stability and Reliability of Shooting System:
We’re also working on making the shooting and reload systems more reliable and less dependent on ping by using local prediction and server validation. This will improve system stability and responsiveness, delivering a smoother experience even with unstable connections.
We are grateful to each of you for staying with us and helping us improve. Your support and feedback are invaluable to us!
DEV NEWS: Development progress and announcement of some features
Hey, BIGFOOT hunters! It's been a while since our last update, and we’re excited to finally share what’s been cooking behind the scenes. We’ve been hard at work on some incredible new features that we know you’ll love, and we can’t wait to dive into them with you.
First up, we’re revamping our entire backend system to make it more flexible and reliable. This upgrade is going to squash those annoying bugs around lobby and game session creation, making your experience smoother than ever. But that’s not all — this overhaul is also laying the groundwork for some seriously cool new features that will take Bigfoot to the next level.
We’re talking about systems that will track your stats and achievements, bringing a whole new level of depth and replayability to the game. Imagine diving back into the hunt with new goals and challenges, knowing that your progress is being saved and celebrated. The thrill of the chase is about to get even more intense!
Here are some of the cool changes you can observe soon:
Player Statistics
We’re introducing a brand-new player profile page that’s packed with expanded general statistics. One of the highlights is the pentagon of player skills, which breaks down your abilities by character. This visual representation will give you a clear picture of where you excel and where you might want to improve. It’s all about helping you become the ultimate hunter!
Daily Trails
Get ready for a new challenge every day! We’re adding a daily challenge feature that will keep you on your toes. For an entire month, you’ll have access to a unique set of tests each day. These challenges won’t repeat, so every day brings something new. Complete these tasks to earn rewards and gain experience, making each session feel fresh and exciting. The hunt is about to get even more rewarding!
Character Upgrade System
To boost the replayability, we’re thrilled to introduce a new character upgrade system. This system allows you to enhance your characters through a skill tree of perks, which you can unlock using in-game currency called Wild Points. You'll earn Wild Points as rewards at the end of each game and by completing Daily Trails. This system not only adds depth to character progression but also gives you more control over how your hunter evolves, making each playthrough more personal and rewarding.
Random Locker Spawn
We’ve listened to your feedback, and we’re excited to announce that weapon safes will now spawn in random locations! Many players suggested this change, and we agree — it’s a fantastic way to keep the game balanced and unpredictable. This new feature will keep you on your toes, ensuring that every hunt feels fresh and challenging as you adapt to new situations.
Personalized Character Items
To make each character’s gameplay experience truly unique, we’re adding personalized items and introducing new ones that are exclusive to specific characters. This means that certain items will only be usable by particular characters, enhancing the individuality of each hunter. Whether it’s specialized gear or unique weapons, these personalized items will deepen the strategic elements of the game, making your choice of character even more impactful.
We’re thrilled to reveal some of the new personalized items:
Thermal Vision Camera
Pepper Spray
Ultrasonic Repeller
Interface
As you can see, we’re completely redesigning the game’s interface. The old interface just wasn’t built to handle all the amazing new features and systems we’re introducing, so we’ve given it a complete overhaul. Our goal is to create an interface that’s not only more functional but also more intuitive and enjoyable for you to use. We’re confident that you’ll love the new look and feel.
Our team has put in a tremendous amount of work over the past few months, and this update only scratches the surface of what’s to come. We’ve shared some of the exciting new content you can expect in the next update, but rest assured, there’s even more on the horizon.
We’re doing everything we can to release this update as quickly as possible. However, since it includes so many fundamental systems, it’s taking a bit longer and requires thorough testing to ensure everything works perfectly.
Thank you for your patience and continued support. We can’t wait for you to experience all the new features and improvements! Stay tuned, because there’s a lot more in store, and we can’t wait to share it all with you.

We hope you enjoy the update. If there are any problems, you can always report them using the bug report form in the main menu of the game
We want to give special thanks to our team of volunteer Bughunters on Discord who did a great job of finding issues with the stability of this update!
What are the main changes in the new update? Fixing the inconvenience of logging in using an Epic account. Correction of dozens of bugs that arose as a result of the transition to Unreal Engine 5 and gameplay innovations. Improved optimization and fixed visual graphics artifacts.
A more detailed list of changes is below! All of these fixes and modifications are in addition to the 5.0 update. You can read the description of update 5.0 here:
Update rollback. EOS alternative. Development plans.
Hello friends!
We would like to be honest with you and want to admit that this update failed to meet our expectations or those of the audience. We are also very saddened by this reaction to the EOS integration and unfortunately have to go back to version 4 to make a new system that you will love.
We respect you and appreciate the time you have spent with us. We recognize the issues with optimization and that we chose the wrong system for the backend, so we are looking for an alternative. Accordingly, we have to postpone the update with the new map, which has been completed and waiting for you for a while now.
We are very sorry and will try to find such a system as soon as possible and fix all critical flaws.
We have been working on the transition to version 5 of Unreal Engine these months. Much work has been done to adapt the project to new engine systems.
The game now supports the new Lumen global illumination system. Thanks to this, the lighting has become more realistic and pleasant. We also redesigned many objects in the game.
We can't wait to hear your feedback. You can send us your wishes, noticed bugs, or ideas using the report form in the main menu of the game or in our Discord community.
Please completely reinstall the game before playing!
What are the main changes in the new update?
EOS integration and crossplay
The game now has integration with the Epic Online Subsystem. Since there are no dedicated servers in Bigfoot, this is the most convenient and reliable way for us to implement crossplay between Steam and EGS. Linking Steam and EGS accounts is required for online play.
With this update, the profile level in the game will be reset and in the future, we plan to add an in-game reward system to the levels.
New buildings
To support lumen global illumination, we had to redesign the building models. Now they are much better quality and optimized.
New trees
In addition to new models and high-quality distant sprites, trees received roots that adapt to the shape and texture of the ground surface.
New cliffs
Not only the form but also the material was changed. Cliffs and rocks now blend better with the environment due to the ground texture projection system.
XBox Controller support
Implemented all interactions for XBox controller and binding settings but text input using the virtual keyboard has not yet been implemented. We are waiting for your feedback.
