Single player Treasure mode now has three difficulty levels to choose from. Improvements to single player AI. Bug fixes.
Patch notes for version 2.0.1.
Bug fixes!
Bite Nite version 2.0 is now live!
Hello everyone and welcome to Bite Nite 2.0! This is the biggest update I have done yet. Here is a list of the new features -
Treasure mode has been redone
Torch mode has been added
Single player has been added
New and updated tutorials
Plus other small enhancements
Treasure mode has been completely redone! Villagers now compete against each other to gather the most treasure and escape the castle before time runs out. One player starts as Dracula and they try to bite and convert all the villagers into vampires. Villagers have to decide whether to be careful and craft neck guards or garlic bread to defend themselves, or be extra greedy and just go all out on treasure and hope to survive!
Torch mode is a brand new game mode. Villagers light torches around the map. Some torches are "special" and will turn red after five seconds. If enough special torches are lit, then Dracula's lair will unlock and his coffin can be burned! But beware of the starting vampire who is disguised to look like a villager! Vampires can also blow out the torches!
Single player is a new addition to this update as well! You can now play against AI bots in all four different game modes. I have plans to further improve the AI and make different difficulty levels for them, but even now they are quite competitive!
Tutorials have been split into one tutorial for each game mode, plus one for the vampires and one for crafting items. Hopefully a nice improvement!
I look forward to seeing what you guys think of the new update and any feedback you have! Have fun!
Patch notes for version 1.5.9.
Bug fixes and small improvements.
Update notes for version 1.5.8
Updated network code for improved latency. Fixed bugs. Updated how to play manual.
Bite Nite update summary from the last few months!
Settings are now set to automatic by default. This means that depending on the number of players and the game mode selected, the settings will change to what I consider the best settings (may be changed in the future depending on feedback and more testing). Each setting can be individually overridden so you can still play how you want!
The setting "Play with bite button" has been updated to "Play with bite button and wooden stakes". If playing without bite button and wooden stakes, then villagers are not allowed to create wooden stakes (no wood or knives will spawn) and ghosts can't drop stakes for the villagers. This was done because without the bite button, there is only ever one vampire, and it was too easy for the villagers to win by killing the vampire (especially in Rescue mode where the player looks like Dracula so everyone knows who the vampire is).
Updated how the starting room looks! It's now the outside of the castle and players must use the battering ram to break into the castle!
The piggy bank has also been updated. It now sits on a pedestal and will push the pedestal down as it's filled with treasure (in Treasure mode)!
Updated the how to play manual and the tutorial.
Names of vampires now show in Hide and Seek mode. Names of villagers don't show so they can more easily hide behind objects!
Lowered bit timer to 3 seconds for Hide and Seek mode (you will convert to a vampire 3 seconds after being bit instead of 10).
Mini Map will show prisoner location for Dracula player in Rescue mode.
Hot keys can be rebinded by the player in the main menu settings.
The game is still constantly being updated and I welcome all feedback and suggestions! You can join my discord server to communicate directly with me here - https://discord.gg/AqZb6NDz4K
