Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on October 19, 2022 (Wed).

Abyss One: The Magnus



● Abyss One: The Magnus" has been revealed through rifts appearing throughout the world of Black Desert.



Main Questline



● Added a main questline where you can explore the "Abyss One: The Magnus" story.
- This quest can be accepted with a character that has completed the following quests: (Black Spirit (,) - Main Quest)
- Complete "[Balenos] Farewell, Grusha," "Embarking on an Adventure," or "Big Fish in a Small Pond" from the Balenos main questline.
- Complete "[Special Growth] Fughar's Memorandum - Chapter 1" during the Simplified questline.
- Complete "[Everfrost] Beyond the Doors of Alyaelli" from the Mountain of Eternal Winter main questline.
- There are some parts of "Abyss One: The Magnus" that are available after completing the Serendia and Calpheon main questlines.
* "Abyss One: The Magnus" will be a much more enjoyable visual experience if played in Remastered mode.

* You cannot enter Abyss One: The Magnus for the following situations:

- In a party/platoon
- In a duel
- While equipping a non-class weapon (i.e. matchlock, fishing rod)
- With trading goods in possession
- Less than 0 Karma
- In Fugitive state
- With Forced PvP (Alt+C) activated
- With a Trial Character



Abyss



● Within the world of the Magnus, there are "abyssal pockets," each with their own spacetime.
- Each of these abyssal pockets that branch off from the Magnus holds their own trials.
- Proceed through the Abyss One main questline by entering each abyssal pocket and overcoming specific trials.
* You will automatically leave an abyssal pocket if you spend more than 1 hour inside.
* There is a 1-minute waiting time before you can re-attempt an abyssal pocket.

Exclusive Gear



● In the world of Magnus, you will not use equipment from the Black Desert World, but rather equipment exclusive to Abyss One instead.



Main Questline Reward


You will obtain the following rewards upon completing the Abyss One: Magnus main questline:

1. PEN (V) Boss Gear

● You'll be able to choose one boss defense gear enhanced to the maximum enhancement level of PEN (V) (once per Family).
- This is identical to the guaranteed PEN (V) boss gear you can obtain through the questline with Jetina, and thus cannot be registered on the Central Market.
- For the helmet and armor pieces, if you enhance it past Caphras Lv. 10, you'll be able to craft it into one of the Slumbering Origin Armor pieces (Fallen God's Armor, Labreska's Helmet), which then can be registered on the Central Market.



2. Fast Travel to Major Cities through the Magnus

● You can utilize the Magnus structure, spread out all over the world of Black Desert, to travel between major cities.
- You can find abyssal wells that are connected to the Magnus on the World Map (M).
- However, if your locations for entering and leaving the Magnus differ, a certain amount of silver is consumed depending on the distance.
- ex1) Bartali Farm in Balenos → Serendia Eastern Border: 1,000,000 Silver
- ex2) Grána Dirt Farm in Kamasylvia → Fohalam Farm in Valencia: 14,800,000 Silver

3. Remote Access to Other Regions' Storage

● Due to all regions now being connected through the Magnus, all inventory items can be accessed from any region.
- You can move and store all inventory items from storages across all regions through a storage keeper NPC as you proceed with the main quests.

- The feature is only available in regions that are lit up on the map. (Not available in Muiquun and Port Ratt.)
- You cannot transport trade items, exchange items, treasure items, Ornette's Spirit Essence, Odore's Spirit Essence, and basic potion items via this function.

4. New Skills for All Classes - Abyssal Legacy

● Once you completed the main questline along with all the following quests, you'll be able to receive a new revelation from the Magnus, thus allowing you to claim a new skill.
- Family Quest: [The Magnus] Box from the Abyss → [The Magnus] Abyssal Legacy → [The Magnus] Revelations
- Proceed with "[The Magnus] Revelations" quest available once per character
* Upon completing [The Magnus] Revelations quest, all characters in your Family shall be able to proceed with "[The Magnus] Abyssal Revelation" quest to learn their new skill, respectively.

Opening of the Abyssal Veins

● As you progress through the story of the Abyss One: The Magnus main questline, you'll be able to obtain the following items (once per Family).
- Each time you learn the "Abyssal Veins" knowledge of each region, you'll be able to accept the quest to claim the following rewards by talking to the Black Spirit (/).
- Complete the quest objectives in the Magnus, then return to our world in Black Desert to talk to a traveler and claim the following rewards.



Class Changes



● Added new "Abyssal Legacy" skills for each class.
- Complete the Abyss One: The Magnus main questline, then use the "[Secret Book] Abyssal Legacy" item to learn a new skill.
- How to Obtain the Secret Book: Complete the quests [The Magnus] Box from the Abyss → [The Magnus] Abyssal Legacy → [The Magnus] Revelations, then proceed and complete the quest “[The Magnus] Abyssal Revelation” once per character
- Once you complete "[The Magnus] Box from the Abyss" quest, all characters in your Family will be able to accept and complete [The Magnus] Abyssal Legacy quest to learn their new skills, respectively.

Item



● Added so Weapon Exchange Coupon Exchange Quest can be done with Dehkima: Token of the Oath x1000 from NPC Sahin in Valencia City.

NPC, Background, Sound



● Mad Scientist Marni's Spooky Playground is now open in Black Desert.
- Darkness descends as frightful screams can be heard from Marni's Spooky Playground. Even the skies are his testing grounds, as out of Marni's very own airship, the Dream Mk II, comes forth creations such as the modified Oog automatons, results of countless sleepless nights of experimenting and tinkering, are finally revealing themselves to the world.

Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on October 12, 2022 (Wed).

2022 Autumn Season



● The 2022 Autumn Season has begun. (Oct 12, 2022 (Wed) before maintenance - Dec 7, 2022 (Wed) after maintenance)
- You gain boosted EXP when playing on a season server, where you can equip "Tuvala gear" to quickly level up your season character while completing the season pass.
- Select "Season Character" in the Character Creation menu when creating a new character to access the season servers.
- Season characters can access both season servers and normal servers. Normal characters cannot access the season servers.
- Season characters can only equip seasonal gear issued by completing the main questline and cannot mount up on Dream Horses.
- For more information, please refer to the Adventurer's Guide - [Season Servers & Characters].
- With the start of a new season, the NEW Olvia (Novice Only, 2, 3, 4, 5) servers have been changed to season (Novice Only, 2, 3, 4, Arsha) servers.

1. Life EXP +30%


Season characters gain Life EXP +30% (excludes Trading).

2. Increased Gathering Loot


● On the season servers, now when you use Gathering tools and obtain Gathering loot, you'll obtain +100% more basic resources.
- This does not apply to barehanded gathering, digging, milking, and scooping water.



- E.g. 2) When Mining Iron Ore, you have a 100% chance to obtain "Iron Ore." On season servers, you'll obtain an additional "Iron Ore" as well.

● The pet Hedgehog's Talent's effect stacks with the increased Gathering loot buff in season servers.
● You can no longer equip Life Skill Mastery items with a season character.

3. Tuvala Enhancement Materials and Seasonal Items from Gathering



● On season servers, now when you use Gathering tools and obtain Gathering loot you have a chance to obtain one of the following five Tuvala enhancement materials and/or seasonal items.
- This does not apply to barehanded gathering, digging, milking, and scooping water.



- The above five items fit in the rare resources category and are NOT affected by the pet Hedgehog's Talent effect.

4. Guaranteed TET (IV) → PEN (V) Tuvala Accessory Enhancement Item



● Added the Boiling Tides Black Stone.
- This item guarantees the enhancement of TET (IV) Tuvala accessories to PEN (V) enhancement level.
- Complete the Season Pass objective "Equipping Tuvala Adventure Gear 3" to obtain this item.
- Equipping Tuvala Adventure Gear 3: Enhance your Tuvala Necklace to DUO (II) or higher, then equip it.





5. Life Alchemy Stone - Treant's Tear



● Added a new alchemy stone, the "Treant's Tear."
- The "[Season] [Life 101] The Adventurer That Does It All" quest has been added under the Suggested tab in your Quests (O) window.
- Only available from Lv. 60 to a season character or a character who has graduated from the season.
- Adventurers can begin the following questline to experience the basics of Life Skills.



6. [Season] Golden Barley, [Season] Rift's Petal



● You can obtain the [Season] Golden Barley and [Season] Rift's Petal from the 2022 Autumn Season.



7. 2022 Autumn Season Pass



● The new 2022 Autumn Season Pass is here!
- You can find the Season Pass via the button located at the upper right-hand side of the screen.





Elvia Realm Improvements


We've changed the entry method for the Elvia Realm first introduced with the improvements made to the structure of Elvia servers. You can enter the Elvia Realm via the relevant UI from any server you're on instead of having to log in to specific Elvia servers. We hope this will alleviate several issues, including that of overcrowded monster zones in the Elvia Realm since you can now be on almost any server to enter the realm.

You can enter the Elvia Realm from almost any location and not just specific monster zones, including safe zones (towns, etc.), without the screen loading. Also, Adventurers in the Elvia Realm can see, meet, and interact (party, combat, etc.) with one another like in the normal field. We didn't set a cooldown for entering and leaving the realm, but we've added a loading animation that lasts around 10 seconds, due to the possibility of using this improvement to repeatedly enter and leave.


● Changed the entry method for the Elvia Realm, infested by Hadum, God of Despair.





● Press the button on the upper right of the screen to enter the Elvia Realm (However, you can't enter the realm on a server in which a Node/Conquest War is in progress.)
- You cannot enter the Elvia Realm with a ship taken out. Make sure you check in your ship in a wharf before attempting to enter.

● The monsters in monster zones in the Elvia Realm will turn into very powerful monsters. All NPCs and monsters in the realm will be Hadum-infested.
- However, NPCs and monsters from Atoraxxion will spawn in the Elvia Realm.

● Your mount will move to the Elvia Realm with you when you enter.
- However, you cannot move to the Elvia Realm if you have trade items in your inventory or mount inventory.

● In order to go into Elvia Realm, it must attune with Elvia's energy emitting from the spacetime rift.
- If you are struck by a debuff while attuning yourself to the Elvia Realm, the process will be canceled, preventing you from entering the realm.

Contents


We removed Talibre's Tear to make it easier to access Atoraxxion. Furthermore, we also lowered the number of items required to make the keys to enter the next sections of the dungeon. This will enable Adventurers to reach the final boss even faster than before. Additionally, we added rewards for Adventurers that clear Atoraxxion for the first time and improved the rewards given for the normal Atoraxxion runs. We hope our Adventurers will enjoy the newly improve Atoraxxion and look forward to the 3rd biome, Yolunakea.


Atoraxxion



● Changed so Talibre's Tear is not required anymore to enter Atoraxxion via Sol Magia.
- Changed related quests and objects as Talibre's Tear, the item required to enter Atoraxxion, has been deleted.
- Changed the [Atoraxxion] Talibre's Tear quest so you can no longer obtain the recipe to craft the Talibre's Tear, and its quest summary and objectives have also been changed accordingly.
- Removed quest description "Consume Talibre's Tear to move to Sycrakea" in [Atoraxxion] Sycrakea.
- Removed text that "Talibre's Tear is required when reentering" when leaving Sol Magia: Atoraxxion.
* During the Oct 12 (Wed) maintenance, all crafting materials of Talibre's Tear were returned and sent to Heidel Storage.

● Changed the components of the following items that can be obtained after defeating Atoraxxion final boss.



* This will be applied after maintenance on Oct 12 (Wed) only for the obtained items.

● The Black Spirit began to hear the sound of help echoing in Ancient Stone Chamber.
- "[Atoraxxion] The First Savior" can be completed via the Black Spirit (/) - Main Quest (A) once per Family with a character from Lv. 60.
- Clear the dungeons of Atoraxxion: Vahmalkea and Sycrakea for the first time.



Golden Tears of the Desert


Golden Tears of the Desert is a crafting material for "Vaha's Dawn" Earrings.

Craft (L) - Heating: Golden Tears of the Desert x1 + Yona's Fragment x10 + Melody of the Stars x10 + Magical Shard x50

"Vaha's Dawn" has the same stats as "Black Distortion Earring."




Cartios Pets




Cartios Pets Talent is Skill EXP Increase, and its Special Skill is finding resources. (Pet Type: RARE)


Arena of Solare


We would like to thank all the Adventurers who put up a strong fight in each ranked match until the very last day of the season. In return, we prepared rewards for those Adventurers who achieved high rankings from their battles. First, Adventurers who achieved 1st place for each class will be revered and honored like deities of war in the form of an NPC that will be created and placed in the Battle Arena until the end of the following season. (The appearance of these Adventurer NPCs will be updated during weekly maintenance to match their latest appearance.)

Adventurers who ranked among the top 100 will be awarded with the honorary "Solare Knight" outfit and title. This outfit is permanent you can open the box with the character you wish to obtain the Solare Knight Outfit. The "Solare Knight" title can be used once the next official season begins until a new Solare Knight arises! Lastly, Adventurers that ranked among the top 100 will be awarded the Glorious Solare Box. It contains a cool icon as well as items that can aid Adventurers in battles.

We hope you look forward to the following season of Arena of Solare (Season 2) as we continue to improve upon the content we deliver to you!

* Top performing Adventurerson of Arena of Solare Season 1 such as TOP 100 for each class and 1st Place for each class can be checked in the official GM note, "Meet the Gloryseekers of the Arena of Solare!"


Top 1 Reward per Class



● Characters of Adventurers who have ranked 1st in each class in Arena of Solare Season 1, will be made into NPCs and placed in the Battle Arena.
- Please note that the saved appearance (excluding outfits) of your character will be updated accordingly upon weekly maintenance.
- Please note that any customizations deemed inappropriate may be changed or removed entirely.
- For the displayed NPC version of your character, please provide the outfit set (excluding limited/collaborative or special outfits) you wish to equip according to the guidelines mentioned in the letter (B).
- You must provide the above information before the Oct 19, 2022 maintenance. If your submitted information does not match the guidelines, it may be selected randomly.

"Today is the day," you may have thought! 'Her heart shall be mine!' And yet, within a minute's span, you end up sighing at Garmoth's untimely demise. You wanted to teach that Dragon a lesson she won't forget, but as if the ground was littered with thorns, she dare not plant her scaley behind on the surface but taunts you from above. And so, to lessen the times our adventurers have felt dejected by the Crimson Dragon, we have made some adjustments so Garmoth will be able to withstand a few more smacks from your heroic weapons, and better rewards to boot!


● Increased 1.2 times Crimson Dragon Garmoth HP.
● Increased 1.4 times the chance to obtain Garmoth's Heart that can be obtained after defeating Crimson Dragon Garmoth.
● Changed the loot of the World Boss that appears in the world of Black Desert as follows: (Excluding Vell, the Heart of the Ocean).

Node & Conquest War


Content restrictions on apprentice guild members were applied to prevent deliberate consumption of guild funds, but there were also aspects that made the gameplay of new adventurers or those who moved guilds extremely frustrating. Adventurers have given us a lot of feedback, and after a careful analysis of your recent play, we have come to a conclusion that it’s fine to improve the terms of the position to some extent. We hope that through this, the beginner guild members can enjoy a more pleasant guild life.


● Changed "Apprentice Guild Member" position that applies when joining a guild as follows:



* For guild members that have elapsed 7 days for the apprentice period as of Oct 12 (Wed) maintenance will change to normal guild members after maintenance.

Background



● Changed the decorations in towns to reflect the Halloween spirit.

UI


When we first introduced Courser Training, it was actually a difficult ordeal to collect all the necessary materials. The sparkly animations displayed when using each material was originally designed to give off a sense of reward to Adventurers who had spent much time and effort gathering enough materials. Now, it's become a bit easier to collect these materials, and it is true that these animations may come off as a bit lengthy. Thus, we decided to add the Skip Animation function to speed up this process, and also made it available for the Alchemy Stone UI as well. We will continue to look over other UI that are in need of such improvements.

* Durability 200, Fishing Mastery +100, Auto-Fishing Time -5%


● Changed so the following items obtained via Fishing cannot be obtained anymore.
- Broken Bottle Fragment, Fertilizer Sack, Seaweed, Tattered Boots, Fish Bones, Broken Fish Hook, Snapped Rope, Torn Sail Piece, Rusty Anchor, Washed-Up Laundry, Torn Net

Improvements on Fishing Leap Objectives



 ● Adjusted the difficulty of Fishing Leap objectives.
- Changed the completion NPC for [Fishing Leap Beginner 10] Bartering to Crio.


Honor to the Fishing Family Quest



● Added new Fishing Leap Quests.
- The following Leap quests can be accepted and completed only once per Family.


Improvements on some fish prices and Imperial Fishing Delivery Seal



● Doubled the selling price of fish above blue grade
- The adjusted fish types are the following: (122 fish types higher than blue grade)


● Improved the method of obtaining the item "Golden Seal - [Imperial Fishing]" which was available through Imperial Fishing Delivery.


Farmable Fruit Items



● The number of fruit items obtained from plant breeding each Mysterious Seed or Hypha has been increased by 2.5 times.


● Changed some of mysterious seed/hypha item description as follows:
- You can obtain 15-20 Fruit items through Plant Breeding but Seeds cannot be obtained.

Peridot Forest Path Wagon



● Implemented the following improvements related to the Peridot Forest Path Wagon.
- The crafting duration for "Wagon Registration: Forest Path Wagon" in the Wagon Workshop has been reduced by 4.5 times.
* If you were crafting this item in a Workshop, the in-progress worker task has been completed and any related scheduled tasks were reset.
- Prices of: Forest Path Wagon Wheel, Flag, Badge, and Cover have been increased by 2 times in the Central Market.
- Improved so that you always obtain exactly 150 "Piece of Image" items upon performing Simple Alchemy on Piece of Image crafting materials.

Adjustments in certain Life Content and Central Market Item Prices



 ● Adjusted the price of the following 89 items that can be obtained through Life-Skill related activities.


● The Season: Dawn of Dragons has come to a close.
- All season characters that have not been converted will be automatically converted to normal characters on Oct 5 (Wed) maintenance.
* Adventurers who have not completed either "[Season Server Graduation] At the Crossroad" or "[Season Server Graduation] Into the Big Wide World" will get Fughar's Letter of Encouragement and Gift Box Full of Memories in their mailbox (B).
- All season quests that have not been completed have been deleted.
- Tuvala gear of the highest level per slot that hasn't been converted will automatically be converted and the remaining gear will be deleted.
* Example) If you have both season PEN (V) Tuvala Helmet and season PRI (I) Tuvala Helmet, the PEN (V) Tuvala Helmet will be converted to a normal gear and PRI (I) Tuvala Helmet will be removed.
- Season items (Time-filled Black Stone, Refined Magical Black Stone, Tuvala Ore, Tuvala Conversion Stone, unconverted Tuvala gear, etc.) have been deleted.

New Content - Abyss One: The Magnus

The Black Desert team is always working to present new, heart-pounding adventures for our Adventurers.

Expanding new kinds of environments with new monster zones is important, however, it is also essential to bring in new experiences.

We’re incredibly thankful that Adventurers enjoy journeying across new regions like the Mountain of Eternal Winter and Port Ratt, and it shows that there is always a thirst for never-before-experienced adventures.

While wrestling about these ideas, we thought "New things start with change".

And so, it was Abyss One: The Magnus that emerged through the mantra of not fearing change.




"The Magnus" is another world that has always coexisted with the world of Black Desert.
But for some reason, a rift has opened between them,
and through this rift is how we enter the Magnus.

The Magnus will be the starting point for Adventurers to carry on a new adventure.




The Magnus and the Black Desert world are connected through wells, so Adventurers can go to the Magnus through wells in Black Desert.

Looking down deep wells or through deep underground chambers is somewhat scary, but what if the call of the void would lead you to new worlds? That was the idea that sparked the well as being the medium.




All the spaces that connect to the Magnus are called the “Abyss”.

Each part of the Abyss exists separately from the concepts of Black Desert time or space. Anything can happen within the Abyss, which is completely different from the world of Black Desert.

Here you can escape the open seas with a cat, or defeat enemies in combat. Each Abyss is a separate mini adventure, where your actions and creativity will allow you to clear missions.




With the Magnus, we wanted to create adventures that all Adventurers in Black Desert could enjoy.

Therefore, you can enter the Magnus after completing the Balenos questline, which means the content has been designed to be enjoyed from around level 15.
There will also be the Magnus-specific gear, so Adventurers who are not well equipped will be able to adventure without worrying about gear.




As you progress through the Magnus, you’ll find yourself activating devices to travel back to the world of Black Desert, and each of these devices is connected to different regions entirely.

To use the device, you must use the “Shadeglow Pebble”, which is an item that can move between the Magnus and the Black Desert world.

The “Shadeglow Pebble” is highly valuable for alchemists in the Black Desert world, and the “Shadeglow Pebbles” can be exchanged for various items. But remember, it is also used to move around through the Magnus, making it an incredibly important item.

In the ever-expanding Black Desert world, the Magnus is expected to play an important role in transportation. Using the Magnus to move among regions will also bring your horse along with it, making movement less of a burden than ever before.

Even though the Magnus allows for fast travel, it’s only available to and from major cities. Horses will remain a vital traveling companion to Adventurers, allowing you to move to other places such as monster zones.

Once you complete all of the main quests for the Magnus, you go through a stage of enlightenment and each class will learn one new type of Skill Enhancement (Rabam).

We wanted to give a meaningful gift to Adventurers who fall increasingly in love with the class that they choose to play.

Upon completing the main questline of the Magnus, Adventurers will also be able to obtain one piece of PEN World Boss Armor. As seasons repeat and time has elapsed, it is felt that Adventurers are in need of more benefits. This does not mean that the content of the Magnus will be difficult just because one of the rewards is a PEN Boss Armor. The idea is for even new Adventurers to be able to learn about Black Desert, and clear the Magnus naturally.

Lastly, the Magnus will bring huge changes to the world of Black Desert. With the Magnus connecting the worlds together, all storages in different regions will become connected through the Magnus, allowing you to connect to a storage without restriction of which area you are located in.

Dev Talk with Adventurers





Class Balance


· Balance Patch Plans ·

Balancing classes has always been a sensitive subject, since every Adventurer holds certain classes dear. We believe that it is most important to always check and analyze what areas we can improve upon.

We’ll try and make the balance patch cycle quicker than it has been.
Since the reboot, we’ve been collecting several classes and performing a large balance change.

This method definitely has some advantages, but from an Adventurer’s point of view, these changes may take too long.

In order to improve this, even if the patch is not that big in the future, a focus will be made on making the balance changes that are needed more often and at a quicker pace.


• Apply patches at a faster rate than before.
• Even if it’s not big, patches are going to happen more often and quicker than before.


· Skill Points ·

For new Adventurers or those who like to try multiple different classes, skill points can be a burden.

We have also been thinking about the skill point burden, and if they are a meaningful system in the world of Black Desert. During the Heidel Ball 2022, we are planning to reduce the amount of skill points needed to learn all skills by around half, so that 1,000 skill points should be enough.

Additionally, the required skill points for Awakening and Succession were different, but we’re going to match them to the level of 1000 skill points.

For the remaining skill points that Adventurers have worked so hard to collect are planned to be used in new skills such as increasing a character's weight limit, so you can increase the weigh by spending remaining skill points.

And regarding Polly’s Forest, which has always been the monster zone to get skill points, there are further plans being developed and we will share those plans at a later date.


• Reduced the required amount of skill points required by half. 1000 skill points should be enough to learn all skills.
• Skill points required to learn all Awakening or Succession to be adjusted to 1000.
• A new skill that allows you to slightly increase your weight limit with skills points will be added.
• Look into adjusting Monster zones that specialize in Skill EXP.




Improvement to entering Elvia Servers


· Not Enough Elvia Servers ·

The inconvenience that is felt with using Elvia servers has been a fundamental problem due to the way Elvia monster zones are only available on certain servers. Of course, we introduced Marni’s Realm, which somewhat addressed the issue, but it wasn’t a perfect solution.

And so, the previously announced feature of being able to enter the Elvia Realm monster zones regardless of the server is almost ready. This will be similar to how Marni’s Realm currently works.


• The improvements to Elvia are expected to launch in October.

· Please increase the daily limit in Marni’s Realm ·
Firstly we’re pleased that the Marni’s Realm was such a positive addition and well received by our Adventurers.

However, with the ‘one world’ concept in mind, and with most of our content based on that concept, we have no plans to increase the time limit of Marni’s Realm.

We want to continue to keep Marni’s realm as a supplementary mode, not the main focus of monster hunting. Instead, we’ll continue to think on more fun and new hunting grounds.


• Marni’s realm is intended to be used as supplementary content, and the current 1 hour restriction will be maintained.

Calpheon Elvia and Improved Hunting Grounds


Around time when Calpheon Elvia was introduced, other monster zones were also improved such as Gyfin Rhasia. These updates helped improve the attractiveness of various spots through special mechanics and other methods.

Due to those changes, we see a much wider variety of monster zones being utilized, and that variety is much wider than when Calpheon Elvia was added to the game. While this has a lot of advantages, it also shows that the charm of Calpheon Elvia has worn off, so the areas need to be improved.

First of all, we plan to expand the usage of two items, the Crystallized Despair and the Scorching Sun Shard. With these items accounting for the main value in going to Calpheon Elvia spots, their value is directly tied to the profit made of Calpheon Elvia.

Even if the overall value of those items increases, the probability of obtaining them at Saunil, Giant’s and Rhutum monster zones is relatively low, so the value of those items does not significantly change. But these spots too will also have their basic profits improved.

Additionally, Padix Island has also slightly increased in value with the change to Ethereal Earrings not being available from Sycrakea, but it’s still not enough. We will adjust Padix Island more so that it can become a more attractive monster spot.

Atoraxxion: Yolunakea


· New Atoraxxion ·

The new Atoraxxion region, Atoraxxion Yolunakea, is prepared to be released after the Magnus. Yolunakea is the third area of Atoraxxion, and the theme is an age-old forest ruins

The final boss of Yolunakea is “Amarillos”, which has been designed around the “origin of life” concept. As the origin of life, “Amarillos” will become stronger and stronger once defeated, evolving in the process.

The difficulty level of Yolunakea is similar to the current difficulties of Vahmalkea and Sycrakea. We judged that the difficulty levels of these spots are already enough, so it was set to a similar level as Sycrakea.

After Yolunakea, the final chapter of Atoraxxion is next, and a showdown with Illezra will occur. So before we reach that point, we decided that if the difficulty level rises again, it may become too stressful to play.

So instead of a straight difficulty jump, Yolunakea is designed around fun engagements and new gimmicks, so please look forward to it.

With Yolunakea being added, there are a total of three chapters in Atoraxxion. It’s good to have more things to enjoy, but it could become burdensome with such a time investment needed.

With that in mind, Yolunakea will take less time to reach the final boss.

However, the scale of the dungeon has itself not decreased, and through new methods, we’re preparing for it to be completed faster than before.

Yolunakea is currently being finalized, and is being developed with a global launch in November.


• The third Atoraxxion, Yolunakea, with the theme of an age-old forest ruin, aims to be released globally in November.
• Difficulty on par with that of Sycrakea
• New fights and new gimmicks await.


· Vahmalkea and Sycrakea ·

Vahmalkea and Sycrakea will also see the time required to collect key items reduced, improving the time required to face the final boss, and will also see the item, Talibre’s Tear, no longer required to enter.

Many Adventurers have also created their dungeon groups, looking for skilled Adventurers who know where to go. Because of this, even if someone wanted to try Atoraxxion, there is a level of hesitation where it is difficult to step up because of your own skill.

While the direction of improvement continues, for now, one thing that is being considered is that the first clear rewards are more generous and increasing the basic rewards for the normal difficulty a little. Even if the difficulty is normal, the mechanics of the fights are still the game, so we’d like to increase the opportunity to experience Atoraxxion.

Lastly, a lot of Adventurers have asked for the ability to clear the Vahmalkea and Sycrakea main quests alone. This is something that we are working on. Although the initial concept was part play, we wanted to reflect what Adventurers wanted as much as possible.
Therefore, if you can proceed with the main quest alone, you will be able to enjoy the story and solve the puzzles at a leisurely pace.


• Adjustments to allow you to reach the final boss faster.
• Changed so that you can enter without Talibre’s Tear.
• Increase the Atoraxxion first clear rewards, and increase the normal difficulty rewards.
• Development has begun to allow Vahmalkea and Sycrakea to be completed alone.




Guild Improvements


· Khan ·

During the guild boss raid: Khan, the boss, monsters, and objects that appear will be changed so that only Guild Members can see the action unfurl. In addition, while the fight is in progress, the Guild Members are removed from the world, so nobody else can interfere.

We plan to prepare this and release it with the goal of sometime mid-October.

· Apprentices ·

Many Adventurers are saying that the apprentice period in guilds is too long, but the apprentice system was set up to prevent incentive hunting.
However, with the current situation in-game, two weeks seems too long, so we’re working to reduce the period to one week.

Also during the apprentice period, there are restrictions such as the ability to use guild shop and the inability to set up traps, so we’re planning to change these permissions in the future.

Node War Reorganization


The “hopscotch” system currently applied to Node Wars will be removed. As many Adventurers have noticed, it hasn’t given the chance for various guilds to participate.

We’ll therefore re-implement the previous Node War format while supplementing and improving it. We’ll reintroduce a tier-based limit on the number of people who can participate during node wars at each location. We will also adjust the number of nodes according to the total number of participating guilds and the number of people fighting.

On the other hand, we are aware of concerns of so-called “snipe/stick” guilds. With this, we would like to set the maximum number of times to participate in node wars during a certain period of time, and if the node war is actually completed and participation is recognized, we will return the number of battles consumed.

It may not be perfect, and the conditions for recognizing participation, may not be seamless, but we will not give up and continue to refine the systems.


• Return to the previous node war rules and systems
• Re-implement the limit on the number of the participants based on the node tier, adjust the number of the nodes based on the number of the participating guilds and participants.

QoL Improvements


· Exchange Unwanted Lightstones ·

Lightstone exchanges will be changed to allow you to select and exchange multiple Lightstones at the same time.


· Alchemy Stone Growth Animation ·

Animation skip will be added to Alchemy Stone Growth, and we will look into it for fuel and polishing as well.


· Maximum Number of Quest Log Expansion ·

Since expanding the limit of Quest Log can result in increasing server load, it will be difficult to improve it. We would like to ask your understanding.


· Retrieve Residence Furniture at once ·

Currently, there is a feature that automatically moves all the furniture to storage when you sell or change the usage of your residence. It will be further improved by adding the UI that enables retrieving every piece of furniture in your residence/manor.


· Residence Purchase Level QoL Improvement ·

It will be improved so that you can level residence usage to the maximum level in advance when you purchase the residence for certain usage.


• According to the number of Lightstones handed over, a number of Purified Lightstones will be obtainable.
• Animation skip feature for the Alchemy Stone Growth, Fuel, and Polishing.
• Due to server load issues, it will be difficult to expand the maximum number of quests.
• Enable retrieving entire placed furniture.
• QoL improvements on levelling the residence when purchasing or changing the usage of the residence.




Life Skill Improvements


Since there are multiple facets to life skills, we’ll discuss the overall direction rather than looking into specific parts.

Rather than developing and adding new content to life skills, we are looking to improving and updating lifeskills as we did with the recent training, farming and fishing improvements to bring them more in-line with the current situation. This includes addressing inconveniences and the falling profits.

In addition, many people have suggested that it would be good to increase the numbers of rare items such as truffle mushrooms, and we are looking to expand the number of spots they are available so that the value of Elixir of Detection is not affected too much.

Also, many Adventurers have enjoyed the ability to turn Item Collection Increase scrolls into Secret Books of Florin, and we would like to also make it so Agris Fever can be taken advantage of for life skills. However, it would be for only basic gathering materials, such as rough stones, ores and weeds.


• Overall improvements to life skills
• Increase in the number of Truffle Mushroom locations
• Agris Fever to be useful for basic gathering materials.




Crystal Presets


The development of Crystal Presets has begun.

However, large structural changes are required for the preset function to be implemented. Work is currently on-going, however it is a task that will take quite some time. We’re expecting that it should take around three months.

As it is a major feature for Adventurers’ quality of life, it will take a long time to develop, but we will take great care and present it once it is ready.

When the crystal preset is finished, we also plan to change the current skill and lightstone presets to be packaged together in the same system, so they can be used and changed more comfortably.

Lastly, we’ve been considering that there is room for possible abuse if the crystal preset is added, especially with negative karma. We are therefore looking at all these rules and systems together.


• Crystal presets are currently under development, but requires significant structural changes that will take time.
• It seems possible that the crystal preset function will also allow for changes to skill and light stone presets




Previously Announced Content


· 10 vs 10 Crew Battle ·

10 vs 10 crew battles has been cancelled.
Instead, more focus will go towards Arena of Solare itself, including the addition of a replay function, and make the Arena of Solare more feature complete, rather than adding a 10 vs 10 crew battle.


· Black Star World Boss·

While not cancelled, it is currently on an indefinite hold. It was decided that it is more important to improve the current world bosses instead of adding a new one.


· Terror of the Deep Sea ·

Terror of the Deep Sea has been cancelled.
The mode was created and an early version was play tested, but it was not fun when compared to the high difficulty. Rather than investing more development into it and making it more fun, it was decided it would be better to improve the completeness and fun of current monster zones like Calpheon Elvia.


· The Era of Trade ·

To implement this, we need to synchronize the prices and inventory between servers.
At the time, we thought this would be possible, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out.
We’re currently working on other methods, and we’ll be able to talk about it again once it has been completed.


· Snowboarding ·

Snowboarding, which was introduced with the release of the Mountain of Eternal Winter, has been cancelled.
This was also developed and tested, but the place was limited, and it wasn't actually fun to do it again.


• 10 vs 10 crew, Terror of the Deep Sea, Snowboarding have been cancelled, Age of Trade and the Black Star world boss have been put on hold.



The Land of the Morning Light


The Land of the Morning Light will bring a very different and unique atmosphere to Black Desert.

From the topography, building style, vegetation and general props, great care is being taken to create a world that feels like the Joseon Dynasty of the past.

In the Land of the Morning Light, we take inspiration for the monsters from Samguk Yusa. Not only are there maiden ghosts, tigers and mountain gods, but there are also traditional fairy tales such as ‘The Hare’s Liver’ and ‘The Tale of Sim Chong’. We are working hard to develop these new adventures and provide them to you, our Adventurers.

This winter, we will accelerate our development of the region so that you can visit the area as quickly as possible.





Fallen God’s Gloves


Fallen God’s Gloves, the strongest armor existing in the Black Desert world, are aiming to be released during the Winter Update, possibly alongside the Land of the Morning Light.

Boss defense gear in Black Desert mostly have their own concept and characteristic, and Adventurers tend to level up their gloves and shoes considering this aspect.
In order to provide content while maintaining uniqueness, we are working on the Fallen God’s Gloves, so that you can craft them like Bheg’s Gloves or Leebur’s Gloves.

Besides the best defense gear, other new items will be able to meet adventurers in the upcoming winter, providing new goals for adventurers.
