Here are the latest update details for Black Desert Online on August 17, 2022 (Wed).
Arena of Solare's First Regular Season
On August 17th, Arena of Solare regular season begins for all regions. Thank you again to the Adventurers who showed great interest and appreciation during the preseason period. There are three significant changes for the regular season.
First, a practice mode will be added. The practice mode does not affect your rank and is purely for the purpose of 'practice'. (Although not displayed, there is a separate MMR for practice mode as well to ensure fair matches.) Many people regretted not being able to experience anything other than ranked in the preseason, but we hope this practice mode will help our Adventurers on their journey to ascend the tiers. However, please note that the practice mode is only open during the times where the ranked mode is not available.
※ Practice mode is currently only available to be queued up individually. While we did develop this content with party queues in mind, we felt that we needed further testing before we could release this feature for the live servers.
Next is the gameplay. Firstly, the gear balance will be configured the same as in the preseason. There were opinions that it would be better to have a bit more AP, but since it is the first season, we decided to keep the current version so that more people can enjoy it. (Of course, please note that we will continue to add changes to the gear as the seasons go on.) In addition, new battlefields have been added. Manshaum Forest, Jade Starlight Forest, and Cadry Ruins join the existing Tzol's Ruins and Olun's Valley making 5 battlefields in total that you can enjoy for this season. Manshaum Forest is expected to offer a new experience with its verdure background, and Jade Starlight Forest will be somewhere that can provide the feeling of field combat.
The last is the UI features. The rank page has been subdivided so that you can check whether players are in Succession or Awakening, and it has been improved to show the character with the highest play rate within a Family, not the last character played. In addition, the ability to check the information of other Adventurers in the rank window has been added, allowing you to check all character information, equipment (including crystals), and skill Add-ons. Some Adventurers said they were reluctant to disclose information, but as Arena of Solare introduced an 'equalized gear system' for the first time in Black Desert, we believe it will serve as an opportunity for more people to enter PvP, so we ask for your understanding. In addition, the rank window has been improved so that you can check the rank 'by class' as well.
And although it will not be implemented on August 17th, we are preparing a system in which MVP and ACE are determined by adding not only damage but also how many crowd-control effects have been inflicted (I.e. knockdown, stun, etc.) which we believe is one of the more important indicators to be considered along with a function in which you can join Practice Mode in a party. We will continue to do our best to work on the other features of Arena of Solare so that we can provide the most enjoyable experience to our Adventurers.
● The new season of Arena of Solare is now live! The following changes have been applied.
Battlefields New battlefields have been added - "Manshaum Forest," "Jade Starlight Forest," and "Cadry Ruins."
Manshaum Forest - Flora's Breath will appear within the woods for each round.
Cadry Ruins - Fire's Warmth will arise from the brazier every so often, and a damage-dealing object will spawn in a random location around the center.

Practice Mode ● Added Practice Mode. - Practice Mode is for playing in the Arena of Solare without having your match outcome affect your current rank. - Practice Mode Match will be available when Ranked Matches are unavailable. - Your opponent's defensive icons will be displayed for Practice Mode. (Hidden for Ranked Matches.) * You will be able to queue up for Practice Mode in a party in a future update.
Ranked Match ● Improved the Ranked Match as follows: - Only up to 2 players of the same class will be matched in the same team. - Bonus points for consecutive wins have been adjusted, along with the win conditions. - Added an alert to display when you can queue up for Ranked Matches. - This is the schedule when you can queue up for Arena of Solare Regular Season Matches:
Arena of Solare Rankings/Records ● Improved the Arena of Solare rankings and records UI. - You can now view detailed information of other Adventurers. * Click the magnifying glass icon to view details on other Adventurers. * You can now see whether an Adventurer plays as Awakening or Succession, their Skill Add-ons, and their current gear setup. - Added the function to now view rankings by class. * You can choose to view the top 20 ranked Adventurers by class by selecting "Class" in the top right corner of the ranking UI.
● Improved to now display clearly when an Adventurer obtains a "traces of elements" buff. - This buff effect will be visible by all Adventurers, allies and foes alike. * For more details, please refer to the Adventurer's Guide - [Arena of Solare].
TOP 1 Rewards by Class ● Adventurers ranked 1st in their class will be given the honor of having their character's likeness displayed as a "commemorative NPC" in the Battle Arena.
TOP 100 Rewards ● The following rewards will be given to Adventurers ranked from 1st - 100th place when the Arena of Solare Regular Season is over.
Honorary Outfit - You will obtain an honorary outfit suitable to your class (permanent and character-bound).
"Solare" Title - You will be able to use the "Solare" title until the end of the next Arena of Solare season. - Equipping the "Solare" title will display a visual effect for your character.
Glorious Solare Box - Open the box to claim the following items.
Seal of Solare ● You can obtain 2 Seals of Solare for every ranked victory, and 1 seal per ranked loss. - Exclusive gear and crystals in Arena of Solare can be unlocked with Seals of Solare. * Weapon: Requires 5 Seals of Solare * Crystal: Requires 2-3 Seals of Solare * Accessory: Requires 2-3 Seals of Solare * Alchemy Stone: Requires 5 Seals of Solare
Increased Max Level & New Skill for Fairies
We're increasing the max level of your fairy and adding an additional quality-of-life improving skill, "Continuous Care."
Continuous Care can be learned by a Radiant Fairy, who will be able to automatically consume from 5 to 20 different food, draught, elixir, perfume, and scroll items. Your fairy will be able to save 3 presets with this skill, so Adventurers will be able to have separate presets for PvE, PvP, and Life Skills, if so desired. Like Agris Fever, this skill can be easily toggled on/off, so you can turn it off if you don't need your fairy to automatically feed you the items you selected.
Some of your fairy's "unpopular" skills now have a reduced chance to be learned with the addition of Continuous Care, while other more "popular" skills, such as Miraculous Cheer V and Feathery Steps V retain their previous odds of being learned. At the same, we designed Continuous Care so that Adventurers won't feel pressured to attain the V rank version of the skill.
Under the "Continuous Care" of your fairy, we hope that you enjoy this quality-of-life improvement in Black Desert.
● Increased the fairy's max level from 40 to 50. - Once you reach Lv. 50 with your fairy, she will gain one additional skill slot. * When your fairy reached Lv. 50, she will be able to learn an additional skill according to a set probability.
● Added the "Continuous Care" skill, which can be learned by a "Radiant" Fairy. - A Radiant Fairy can learn Continuous Care from Lv. 10. - Once your fairy learns Continuous Care, the "Auto-use Settings" button will appear in the fairy UI. - You can use this function to designate certain items to be automatically consumed when they're not in use. - The following items can be designated for auto-use. The skill rank of Continuous Care will determine the amount of items you can designate at any given moment.
- You can easily save and change your Auto-use selections via the 3 preset buttons. - You can find the Auto-use Food/Elixir and settings button in the top left-portion of the UI. - LMB to open the Auto-use Settings UI, RMB to toggle the Auto-use Function ON and OFF. * You can save your selections in presets for later use.
● Selecting different items with the same effect for auto-use will automatically consume the selected item even if the effects of the previous item are still active. * ex) If the effects of "[Event] Beast's Draught" are active, but you select "Beast's Draught" and toggle "Auto-use" ON, your family will immediately use the selected "Beast Draught" even though the "[Event] Beast's Draught" effects are still active.
● Change the success rate of learning skills for Radiant Fairies. - The success rate to learn Continuous Care differs based on your Radiant Fairy's current set of learned skills. You can check your fairy's actual chance to learn skills from the in-game fairy UI.

● Added a function in which a 300 min buff can be obtained by exchanging Silver with an NPC. - Added "(120 min)" text to Conversation where 120 min buff can be obtained. - 10,000,000 Silver is needed to obtain the respective Attack/Defense/Experience buff for 300 minutes. - These buffs can be obtained from the following NPCs:

Arena of Solare Season 1, Summer Events & More!

August 17th marks the first regular season of the Arena of Solare. The 3v3 PvP mode showed some incredible fights in the arena during pre-season, and soon you'll be heading into intense battles to determine who are the top players in Black Desert. Could it be you? Make sure to stay tuned to all of Black Desert's channels to see what changes are coming to Season 1 of Arena of Solare.
And of course, the Terrmian Beach festival is still going on! Will you choose to fight alongside the Papus or the Otters? Will you fish to your heart's content on the golden shores? Or maybe you just want to kick back and do some shopping at the exclusive Terrmian Night Market. Whatever you choose to do on the beach, make sure that you make full use of the Papu/Otter exclusive stores, with items such as Memory Fragments, Advice of Valks, Cron Stones, and more available. Remember that the side you choose in the Papu vs Otter events determines which of the merchants you can use.
For this weekend, make sure you log in to claim your Summer Postcards! Each day you'll be able to log in and collect a small gift from your in-game mail, with items such as Artisan's Memory, Advice of Valks, and of course, Terrmian Event Dice! Special Papu and Otter Merchants at Terrmian Beach! - Relocated Palio and Donsella, visiting vendors of special merchant guilds, to near the Thousand Years Masterpiece Auction at Terrmian Beach. - Added system alerts to display 5 minutes before Palio and Donsella arrive on Terrmian Beach.
Terrmian Night Market - You can now store the 10 special food items from the Night Market in your Family Inventory. - Your character will now display an animation when eating Night Market food items. - Changed how cooldowns work for Night Market food items as follows. Item descriptions have been changed accordingly. - Changed the basic movements of "Terrmian Night Market" Vedio. - Changed "Terrmian Night Market" Puria, Melnia, and Vedio to now be a bit more aggressive with their sales pitches. Sand Castle Crasher - Papus vs Otters! ● The following changes have been applied to Red Battlefield: Sand Castle Shore-Down. - Increased the attack speed of the Brave Pine Blader's rage (RMB) attack. - Increased the attack area of the Dreamy Bubble Shaman's basic (LMB) attack. - Changed Family Names to no longer display for characters upon entering the battlefield. - Changed so the health bars of allies and foes no longer display in the battlefield.
● Applied the following changes to the "Who’s the King of the (Sand) Castle?" Weekly Terrmian Happiness (Feat. Terrmian Special Coin) - The quests [Event] Sand Castle Repairs I and [Event] Sand Castle Repairs II can now be accepted normally. - Improved the quest [Event] Grilled Fish for the Campfire so that you can cook Sea Eel and Herring in the campfire. - Changed so that [Event] Sunset Butterflyfish have a 10% chance of being caught in the [Event] Purple Butterflyfish’s zone, and vice versa, in the Papu and Otter fishing zones. * The chance of obtaining of all event fish are the same. - Added text detailing on which NPC you can buy Lumbering Axes from for [Event] Campfire for Tonight.
Do We Fish for Papu or Otters? - The Papu's Bravery and Otter's Diligence buffs granted by handing in Sunset Butterflyfish to Panira and Purple Butterflyfish to Pucio at Terrmian Beach respectfully, have now had their duration increased from 3 to 10 hours.
Sand Castle Crasher Festival! Fixes - Fixed so you can now access the menu and other functions from the Red Battlefield UI upon entering the Sand Castle Shore-Down. - Fixed the issue of Papu and Otter Chief not appearing during Sand Castle Shore-Down. - Fixed the issue of "Papu Empress" Papuraora and "Otter General" Crioniak appearing in abnormal locations at the start of the battle between Papu and Otters. - Fixed the issue of the Navigate feature appearing unnatural when using auto-navigation in the Terrmian region. - Fixed the issue of Silver being stored abnormally in the Inventory when selling items at the Terrmian Night Market. * Silver stored in this storage will be moved to Velia Storage. - Fixed the issue of the NPC names displaying and disappearing for a certain period of time near Terrmian Thousand Years Masterpiece Auction House. - Fixed the issue of the plate and fork remaining when the character was eating. - Improved the quest objective for the "[Event] Campfire for Tonight" quest.
● Applied the following changes to Red Battlefield: - Fixed the issue of not being able to enter the Red Battlefield when the Hunger debuff is being applied. - Fixed so the Red Battlefield cannot be entered with the Fishing Rod equipped.

With this update, not only are we changing the La Orzeca and Nouverikant outfits to be dyeable as our Adventurer's see fit, we've also added additional quests to revert your La Orzeca and Nouverikant outfits into outfit boxes so you can wear them on another character.
We look forward to seeing the different color schemes of La Orzeca and Nouverikant outfits to be posted on the Photo Gallery soon.

La Orzeca Helmet - You will first need to obtain "Quturan's Left Lung" to begin the La Orzeca Helmet questline. - Defeat monsters in Thornwood Forest, Ash Forest, or the Crypt of Resting Thoughts for a chance to loot Quturan's Left Lung, or you can craft it by collecting 100 "Quturan's Black Leaf" that drop from the same monster zones as well.
La Orzeca Armor - You will first need to obtain "Quturan's Right Lung" to begin the La Orzeca Armor questline. - Defeat monsters in Tunkuta, Olun's Valley, or the Crypt of Resting Thoughts for a chance to loot Quturan's Right Lung, or you can craft it by collecting 100 "Quturan's Ashen Leaf" that drop from the same monster zones as well.
Quturan's Ashen and Black Leaves also have a low chance of being fished up from the waters of O'dyllita.
Female classes can obtain the La Orzeca Helmet and Armor more akin to the male class version through the "[Daily] La Orzeca's Orb" quest. (This appearance change is permanent and cannot be reverted.)

Nouverikant Helmet - Use Manufacture (L) with PEN (V) Dormant Nouverikant Helmet, Cantarnia's Crystal x30, and Concentrated Nouver's Aura x3 to craft the "Sealed Nouverikant Helmet." * PEN (V) Dormant Nouverikant Helmet: Bring the Bloodstorm Nouver's Split Horn to the scholar in the royal palace of Valencia to obtain the "Dormant Nouverikant Helmet." Collect "Bloodstorm Black Stones" to enhance the Dormant Nouverikant Helmet up to PEN (V). ● Added two new daily quests that will revert your La Orzeca Outfit into an outfit box. - [Daily] Primeval Form: La Orzeca Helmet * Quest NPC: Limitte of O'draxxia * Condition: Incarnation of Greed: Helmet quest complete - [Daily] Primeval Form: La Orzeca Armor * Quest NPC: Burt Bedmountain * Condition: Incarnation of Greed: Armor quest complete - These quests will become available after you have completed Incarnation of Greed: Helmet and Armor quests, respectively. - Hand over Cantarnia's Crystal x2 with either La Orzeca Helmet or Armor to obtain the La Orzeca Helmet or Armor Boxes, respectively. ※ You can purchase Cantarnia's Crystals from Francia, the librarian of O'draxxia, for 500 million Silver each.
● Added daily quest that allows you to revert the Nouverikant Helmet/Armor back to its sealed state. - The quest can be accepted if you equipped the Nouverikant Helmet/Armor, or have it in your Pearl Inventory.
To alleviate new Adventurers from the inevitable inventory clog that comes from random green-grade gear looted from monsters, we initially implemented such gear to drop in box form. We have now made it so that you can more quickly obtain the crafting materials you can obtain by using Heating on such gear. Now if you have any green-grade gear on you, you can exchange them with certain blacksmiths to immediately break them apart into their assorted processing materials.
● Improved so you can now exchange green-grade boxes with certain blacksmiths to obtain processing materials from the contents of said boxes. - The Dwarven blacksmiths of Gavinya Great Crater have discovered a new method to retrieve crafting materials from boxes without taking out their contents, and have spread this knowledge to blacksmiths near and far.
Monsters
● Applied the following changes to the loot that can be obtained in Murrowak's Labyrinth of Mountain of Eternal Winter. - Increased Caphras Stone drop rate when defeating Ironclad Murraska and Murraska by 3.3 times. - Changed the following loot that can be obtained from "Earth-shaking", "Leader", "Violent Leader", "Ironclad Murraska", "Egg-brooding" Murraska, "General", and "Queen's Wing" Murrasto. * Increased Heavenly Essence (Stun/Grapple/Knockdown/Ignore Knockback Resistance) drop rate to approximately 2 times. * Increased Forgotten Witch's Token's drop rate to approximately 1.25 times. - Increased Embers of Frost's drop rate to 2 times when defeating "Queen" Vercedes. - Increased the junk loot dropped by "Leader" Ironclad Murraska, "Earth-shaking" Ironclad Murraska, "Violent Leader" Ironclad Murraska as follows: * Before: 5-10 junk loot * After: 10-20 junk loot - Increased the junk loot dropped by "General" Murrasto and "Queen's Wing" Murrasto as follows: * Before: 10-20 junk loot * After: 20-40 junk loot - Changed the vendor price for "Decomposed Exocrine Gland" dropped from Murrowak's Labyrinth. * Before: 9,870 Silver * After: 11,980 Silver

Coming to the August 5 (Fri) update in Black Desert Global Lab.
We’ll start with adjustments to overly powerful PvP classes, then focus on updates to classes that are overwhelmingly efficient in PvE and those that show low efficiency in PvE.
Our goal is to reduce the gaps and variances between classes.
After that, we will be taking additional feedback and then making more fine-tuned adjustments.

Fairies will be able to automatically use foods and elixirs with the new skill: “Continuous Care.”
Three presets will be available so that you can have different settings for varying situations.
Fairy tiers will be maintained. Max levels will be increased to level 50 and an additional skill can be learned.
Miraculous Cheer V and Feathery Steps V can be learned with similar probability.
· Conquest War & Node War Improvements · You will be able to directly select your guild and your opponent’s guild’s colors, allowing for easier identification of opponents.
Conditions for building forts and command posts will be made less restrictive,allowing you to build on more rougher terrain.
Additionally, the default building preparation time required for forts and annexes will be decreased to 1 second before Node/Conquest War begins.
Remote installation will also be added to Conquest War.

Items obtained while adventuring will be better grouped together, so that they are easier to identify, which means that novice Adventurers can manage their inventories with more ease.
· Improvements to Maids · Maids will get a new ability that will allow you to easily move items between characters located within the same region.

To give outfits more context, background stories explaining the outfit’s origin and concept will be added.

The Terrmian quests available after the maintenance on August 3 (Wed) can be completed once per Family during the event. While the Terrmian quests available after August 11 (Thu) at 00:00 (Server Time) are weekly quests that will reset every Thursday at 00:00 (Server Time).
Keep in mind! You can start the Terrmian event quests after the maintenance on August 3 (Wed), but these Family quests will not reset on Thursday. And even if you start the Terrmian event quests after the maintenance on August 11, you can still complete the previous Family quests. However, you will need to complete the Family quests to start the Weekly quests.
* The daily quests can be completed once a day per Family (resets every day at 00:00 server time), while the weekly quests can be completed once a week per Family. * Terrmian event quests are available from the Quest (O) window – New Quests tab.

Event Details ① At certain times during the event, you will be able to join the Red Battlefield by going to the ESC Menu → War (F7) → Red Battlefield. * However, you cannot enter while under the effect of a debuff.
② When you enter the Sand Castle Shore-down, you will automatically be assigned to either the Papu or Otter teams, and you will be randomly assigned one of 3 roles. * The Sand Castle Shore-down is open for up to 60 Adventurers and is a 30 vs 30 death match.

How to Use Rage! ① At the starting points of the Sand Castle Shore-down, a Shore-down Stoneback Crab will appear. Hitting the crab will grant you with Rage. ② Hitting opponents will also gain you Rage. * You will not be able to re-enter the starting area of the Papu/Otter camp once you have left. ③ Score points by striking down members of the opposite team. The number of points earned depends on the number of points the other character had. ④ The team with the highest total accumulated score at the end of the time will win.

Event Details ① Once you complete the main quest, “Clash of the Furr-some Papus and Otters,” you will see a crossroad selection quest where you can choose to aid the Papu’s or the Otters. * You can change select your side again every Thursday until the event is completed.
② By choosing the side you want to support, you can obtain the transformation scrolls shown below through conversation with the Panipani Villagers for Papu, or the Queekity Thumpity Moon Villagers. These villagers are scattered around the Sand Castle site.
* The used transformation scrolls do not disappear and can be used again within the expiration date. * Papu and Otters can only be attacked by turning into the opposite camp.

④ After 15 minutes of fighting, the side that has held onto territories longer wins. - The defeated Papus or Otters of the camp will remain in place for 5 minutes, to reflect on their team’s defeat.
Tip! Good Things to know
(1) The Papu and the Otters will fight for 15 minutes, then take a break for 5 minutes, then pick back up where they left off. (2) You will find battles easier if you participate using the Immortal Persimmon Knight, Resolute Crab Knight, Chilled Chestnut Slinger, or the Vehement Conch Boxer Transformation scrolls. (3) By taking down opponents in battle, you can obtain the “[Event] Golden Shellfish”, “[Event] Golden Leaf” or “[Event] Blue Terrmian Coins” at a certain chance. - “[Event] Golden Shellfish” and “[Event] Golden Leaf” can be sold for 70,000 Silver. (4) During combat, you can obtain the “[Event] Fierce Pine Blader Transformation Scroll” or the “[Event] Solitary Conch Blader Transformation Scroll” at a low drop rate, and the transformation lasts 10 minutes. - Using these scrolls will allow you to show the whole beach what you are made of.
