Black Paradox blasts out of Early Access – here’s what’s in V2.0
As of today, Black Paradox is no longer in Early Access and the full, final version has now launched!
During the 279 days the game has spent in EA, the fantastic team at Fantastico Studio has worked incredibly hard improving and polishing Black Paradox, adding 16 new power-ups, 13 new enemy waves, 11 new music tracks, 6 new power-up combos, two new weapons, and one new boss. On behalf of the Fantastico team, we’d like to thank everyone who has played the game so far.
And we hope you’ll be excited to hear about a couple of new, significant features that have been added to the full version: Chip Storage and Darkness Mode.
Chip Storage: Instead of only being able to carry the chips you have equipped to the Star Phoenix, this new storage option allows you to keep up to nine unused chips as well.
Darkness Mode: Beat the game to unlock this new boss-rush mode. It takes place in the alternate ‘dark’ dimension and you get to play as the ‘dark’ Black Paradox, rather than the ‘light’ version of the hero that features in the main game. You face alternate, more powerful clones of each of the bosses, all of which use a modified and deadlier version of their attacks.
Those aren’t the only additions/changes/tweaks to the game, here’s a full rundown of the updates you’ll find in the full version:

As well as the full version launching on Steam, Black Paradox is also now available on PS4 and is coming out tomorrow, Friday 3 May, on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Tell your console-owning buddies or grab the game on Switch and discover the portable pleasures of playing Black Paradox in handheld mode.

Weekly Update #14
We haven't had an update in 2 weeks because we were working on something bigger! Updates from now onwards won't be weekly, but will be way bigger!
New contents
Let's start with the simple things. one new combo joins the rank!
Antisymmetric Combo reverts a certain powerup's negative effect.
Then there's a new drone, the Moroder Drone!
We have a new Soundtrack for the levels and the boss fights too!
Also there's a new boss in the game! The boss is kind of a secret boss, and there's a chance to meet him after each boss is defeated! When defeating him the player will get access to some unique powerups that can't be coillected otherwise.
The powerups are:
Paradoxal battery: makes the Black Paradox charge faster
Mk.2: Gives the Black Paradox a new, deadly attack!

Weekly Update #13
This week we're bringing you 3 new enemy waves, a new weapon, some new cool art and solved a bug in the soundtrack.
Soundtrack
After we added the new track last week, a bug made only the first 2 tracks play... We fixed it now, so you can hear all the old and the new track now!

4 new waves are here to bring you down! A lot of them are laser focused and will be a real obstacle!
Also we hadn't added a new weapon in a while. So here's a new one for you, the Moroder!

Weekly Update #12
Last week we said we were working on a new mechanic. And as we tested it we really loved it! So we have a new feature, the combo system. Some powerups will create cool combos that will powerup the player further.

We also have a new soundtrack added to the game! Soon we'll update the soundtrack DLC too!

Oh also a new powerup joined our ranks!
The Lucky Dice gives the player a chance to come back to life with some health when dying.
Also as for the combo system 5 combos will be available for now, but we plan to add more! Each one of them requires the player to collect 2 specific items, but we'll keep which items a secret for now not to spoil the fun in finding them all.
Minimega Combo increases the player's attack by 20%
Safe Haven Combo upgrades a certain drone's defensive capacities
Corrosive solution Combo upgrades a drone to corrode your enemies
Wombo Combo makes your black paradox last 20% longer
Life Master Combo makes a certain powerup trigger more often

Weekly Update #11
So it's friday again (and soon it'll be the weekend gladly!). We've got some new contents, a few bug fixing and are testing a possible new in game mechanic. If it works as intended we'll add it in the game soon, but let's keep it as a surprise feature for now.
New contents
We have 2 new powerups this week!
The Supersize Me is kind of the opposite of last week's Mini Me: it increases the player's size, but in doing so it will increases his HP and Attack.
The Shark Loan, on the other hand, makes you gain more money when you kill an enemy!

Weekly Update #10
We're back guys! This week we've worked on a lot of stuff.
New contents
Let's start with the juicy bit. A new track was added to our amazing soundtrack! We'll also soon update the soundtrack DLC with all the missing tracks!
Then we have the extra game content: 3 new scripted waves that will make the game more variated and more balanced and a new upgrade, the winner of September's monthly design contest the Mini Me by the user Parbus!

Weapons, powerups and drones icons have now a small pulsating effect to be easier to spot when on screen
The Darts Punk now interacts properly with both Rear Shot and Triple Shot chips, more interactions with these chips will be checked in future updates
Mini me added: it increases the player speed by 30%, while decreasing his attack by 10% and size by 20% making it easier to dodge bullets. A complementary upgrade will be coming soon...
The Salvager's visual effect has been improved. Also we've lowered the power cap but made it easier to reach
After hitting a meteorite with the Asteroid Volley it will become immune to player attacks making it deadlier against enemies
Kamikaze drones now only attack enemies making them more useful
all Drones range has been slightly buffed
Chips
the Dodge Chip has been reworked and upgraded. Say hi to the new Parry Chip! Instead of blocking a single bullet the chip now makes the player ignore damages for 0.5 seconds when triggering from a bullet hit, making it way more useful! Also we added a visual effect to show the invulnerability duration.
The Vampire chip's effect wasn't very clear for many users who thought the green particles flying at them were enemy bullets. It has been reworked to only play a small healing particle on the player
Enemies and bosses
Angry Bones meteorite attack stops his movement for a shorter time
Quantum Black's charge attack moves a tiiiny bit slower
3 new waves
One of the recently added waves (the one with the mines) has been slightly buffed
Misc
Kinetic lines were added to the player
Weapon switching SFX's volume has been slightly raised
The algorithm generating the chips in the shop has been balanced a bit.
Collecting a new weapon with 2 weapons equipped will now discard the equipped one instead of dropping it
Bugs & typos
Small bug fixed on the background stars that weren't properly looping after 15+ minutes of playing in the same level
Fixed a typo in the pause menu in single player
Fixed some typos in the tutorial

Weekly Update #9
Today we have a smaller but significant update! It came in a bit late as we discovered a big bug just prior to publishing it.
All the new waves have been balanced out to better fit with the old ones. This should make the game run smoother and feel fairer!
As for this week, as we'll be attending the Milan Games Week in Milan, we will skip the weekly update. Anyone around there is welcome to come and meet us!

Weekly Update #8
Who said balance??? Oh wait I did!
To balance off the game we've added 3 more scripted waves. Also we've worked a bit on the other waves to better integrate with the new ones. More work is needed, but were keeping it up! Oh also we've made the demo a bit more balanced too!

So as I mentioned we have 3 new waves and a new powerup, the Advanced AI, a powerup that incerases your drones attack power!
We're also working on a restock function for the chip shop, though it'll still take some time to have it in the game.

A few items weren't interacting correctly. We fixed the issues!
