Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.9.9 hotfix

Unfortunately 0.9.9 introduced a couple of pretty nasty bugs that needed to fixed instantly. Also fixed some other less severe issues, that may be older or also came in the last update.

0.9.9 hotfix notes


Bug fixes:



  • Fixed a bug that caused sleeping enemies in night missions to have a high probability to fell out of bed so badly they fell out of the map. This caused bugging in "clear all enemies in the area" -type objectives, since they just disappeared. So, there was a high chance that the player could not finish the mission. Warehouse Wars was one of them.
  • Fixed a bug that caused some issues in the keybindings if using other than default keybindings.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game crash when commanded Ai team to assault through a certain door(s). Found one, not sure if there were more of them, but all other similar issues should be fixed now.
  • Pausing the game pauses now also the smoke mortar bomb spawner in Warehouse Wars.
  • Fixed bugging in the Molotov flames that caused them sometimes be hidden even should be visible.
  • Fixed the smoke grenade to release smoke only when the grenade is on ground and not moving. Also fixed some visibility issues.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Dexter's C4 icon and text missing in the game controller item selection wheel. It was still possible to select C4:s from the empty slot.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.9.9 - New Mission Update!

0.9.9 Patch Notes


New content:



  • Added a new mission, Warehouse Wars. Another wave defense mission. This time players defend a warehouse building against enemy attack.

New features:



  • Added fire mode selector. Press B key to switch between fire modes if the weapon has multiple fire modes. On gamepad press RightStickButton while aiming down sights with LeftTrigger.
  • Smoke grenade's and fire extinguisher's smoke blocks now visibility between players and enemies. It also expands dynamically and should not go through walls as bad as before.
  • Sniper rifles deal guaranteed 2x crit if cursor is over an enemy 1.2s, the cursor color is changed to red when ready. The idea is that players are able to single shot kill unaware enemies with weaker damage sniper rifles.
  • Added 10 chemlights to player inventory. Press L key to drop.

Weapons:



  • Added a bunch of new weapons:


    • M60E4 light machine gun
    • G36C carbine
    • M14 DMR marksman rifle
    • Mini Uzi submachine gun
    • M93R machine pistol
    • USP45 pistol

  • Fixed a bug that caused laser sight sometimes disappear even it was switched on.
  • Using a suppressor decreases now weapons' mobility value instead of damage and hip fire accuracy.
  • Max damage drop for submachine guns is now 50% instead of 25% (shotguns and pistol drop still to 25%).
  • Fixed a bug that caused "buy 15 weapons" achievement unlock when bought 10 weapons.
  • Some adjustments in weapons stats. Most notable, increased SPAS-12 fire rate 150->250.
  • Improved "trigger" for single shot weapons with low rpm. Registers fire button clicks more reliable when fast clicking multiple times.
  • Stat modifiers from weapon loadout mobility values are now more linear without weird steps.
  • Adjusted weapons' materials to less metallic(dark) -> slightly better visible on players back and in night missions.

AI team:



  • Teammates can now individually set back to follow mode by giving them another individual move command while cursor is over the player character.
  • Fixed multiple issues that caused Ai teammates not always shoot back when shot at.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Ai teammates consider some railings as effective covers even they are not.
  • Fixed a couple of bugs that caused Ai teammates behave incorrectly when commanded by a client player in multiplayer.

Sounds:



  • Improved weapon sounds by adding tail sounds for assault rifle, submachine gun, and light machine gunshots. Tails are faded out if shooting indoor.
  • Added new sounds for SawedOff, and AA-12.
  • Added water sounds for beach and rivers.
  • Added wind sound that gets louder when climbing higher. Wind level is randomized, so sometimes it can also be heard at ground level. Higher wind also adds additional movement to foliage.
  • Water and wind sounds can also be heard inside a building when near an open door or window.
  • Fixed missing ship engine room ambient sound in Heavy Load mission.
  • Added ambient sound for Tower Affair mission server room

Misc fixes and improvements:



  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies unable to shoot at player if surprised while planting a bomb (wave defense missions).
  • Fixed issues that caused ADS sometimes not correctly enabled when pressing ADS button down during doing something that temporarily disables ADS (like swapping a weapon).
  • Some additional minor fixes and improvements.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.9.5 - New Mission Update!

0.9.5 Patch Notes


New content:



  • Added a new mission, Hotel Hell. It's a wave defense mission where players defend a hotel building against enemy attack, and defuses bombs planted by enemies.

Weapons:



  • It's now possible to pick up ammo from any weapon that uses the same ammo type than the player's weapon. When items on ground are shown by holding down the Alt key, the ammo icon is shown after weapon's name text if it uses the same ammo type.
  • Added 5% critical hit chance for player's weapons. It's increased by an additional +0.5% per Weapon Quality Level (+5% max at level 10). Damage is multiplied by 1.5x or 2x for best 1/5. Damage numbers are colored in yellow and red when show damage is enabled. Grenade launchers and rocket launchers can't crit.
  • Weapons have now Mobility ratings that replaces the old (small, heavy I, heavy II) categories.
  • Added two new weapons, Scorpion EVO 3 and MC51.
  • Added a better looking model for MG3.
  • Added a new model for laser trip mines.
  • When using the grenade launcher part of the M16 M203, the weapon icon's grenade launcher part is colored yellow.
  • Small adjustments in weapons stats.

UI:



  • The equipment selector pie menu that is used with controllers has now icons for all items instead of just text.
  • The weapon/ammo widget in the screen bottom right also shows icons for grenades instead of text.
  • Removed weapon type text from the weapon/ammo widget.

Animations:



  • Added a lot of animations for certain actions that were missing them, for example bomb defuse/plant, interacting with computers, burning stuff, picking up a weapon etc.
  • Added turn in place animations for player characters.
  • Added weapon recoil animations.

AI team:



  • AI teammates now gather front of a door and move in slowly walking and aiming down sights when commanded to assault through doors/stairs.
  • AI teammates crouch if the player is crouching.

Models:



  • Added a new model for the air defense system that has cannons, missiles, and rotating radar.
  • Improved model for the enemy turret. Also has a small rotating motion detector/radar.

Sounds:



  • Most of sound effect volumes are now reduced if there is a wall between the player and sound location. Multiple walls reduce the sound volume more than a single wall.

Misc fixes and improvements:



  • Fixed a bug that caused escaping civilians get stuck when trying to vault.
  • Fixed a bug that caused interacting with items complete even the player gets downed during process.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Dexter's Booby Traps spawn under stairs when placed on stairs.
  • Fixed an issue that caused AI chars unable to follow player if vaulted while crouching.
  • Fixed an issue that caused enemies sometimes get stuck after vaulting.
  • Enemies who spot players has now their off-screen indicators turned on right away on Easy and Normal (on harder turned on when they start shooting).
  • Off-screen indicators on screen bottom should be now a bit more accurate.
  • Fixed a bug that caused mission item notify markers (on control panels, gas cans etc) be visible through floors for the host player in multiplayer.
  • Fixed a bug that caused joining a game through Steam invites didn't work after hosting a game (unless visited the multiplayer menu).
  • Fixed a bug that caused joining a game through Steam invites not work if the player was already in a multiplayer game.
  • Some additional minor fixes.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.9.0 - Controller Support!

0.9.0 Patch Notes


New features:



  • Added support for controllers. The UI shows now controller buttons instead of keyboard + mouse ones when a controller is enabled. Weapons and items can be selected through a selection wheel. The aim assist feature makes the game pretty playable even for casual controller players. There are also multiple changes in the menus to increase controller usability.
  • Players can now vault over low walls, and through open window holes. Ai characters should be able to follow the player in most cases. Also added falling and landing to ground animations.

Fixes and improvements:



  • Steam invites and joining through friend list transfers players now directly into the multiplayer game instead of Main Menu.
  • Fixed audio issues that caused directional sounds to not work correctly on some audio devices.
  • Item notify markers are no longer colorized to green by night vision.
  • Fixed a bug that caused muzzle flashes and bullet tracers to be visible even if the shooting enemy is hidden because of no line of sight.
  • Changed the turn visible/hidden dissolve effect on civilians to have green tint instead red.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Ai teammates sometimes spot enemies through walls.
  • If the laser sight is turned on, it stays now enabled after picking up a weapon from ground.
  • Fixed a bug that caused suppressors attached to other characters' weapons sometimes to be ghosted even the character is normally visible.
  • Fixed an issue that caused an additional delay before player can move after picking up a weapon or an armor from ground.
  • Pause & Command Team: Fixed a bug that caused grenade trajectory to be drawn from a move order location that was removed before.
  • Pause & Command Team: Fixed a bug that caused Ai Teammates to go to move locations that were removed (if removed more than one location by clicking them).
  • Pause & Command Team: Fixed a bug that caused Ai teammates grenade throw command often fail after a move order that was given simultaneously.
  • Options Menu: Settings are no longer applied when closing menus, need to press the apply settings.
  • Main Menu: On entering the name change box, it shows now current name instead of blank text field.
  • Main menu: The player's steam name is now used as a default value on the name text box when the game is started first time.
  • Host Game Menu: The game name is now "PlayerName's Game" as default. If the game name or the password is changed, the changes are saved.
  • Host Game Menu: Added "Private" option that makes the hosted game not to be listed on the server browser.
  • Fixed couple cases where the spectator mode stayed visible in the background even the mission end screen is shown.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the mission end screen not show for a host player, if he is dead and last alive client player quits the game.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.8.5 - New Mission Update!

Hey, a new version is released and I'm glad to inform that it contains a new mission. It's a nice city map with lots of covers and high enemy density. Not the easiest mission, but sure fun if you have enjoyed the game so far. Please let me know if you encounter any issues.

  • Money pickups' dollar markers can now be seen through walls etc. if the player is in same floor.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.8.3 - Patch Notes!

Hey, this patch mainly fixes some bugs (one really nasty one), but adds a couple pretty nice little features too. AI teammates also gets a small boost, so they would hold better against elite enemies introduced in the previous update.

  • Increased AI teammates base accuracy.
  • Decreased AI teammates accuracy bonus gained from Leadership: Efficiency skill.
  • Increased AI teammates damage by 7%.
  • Hostages have their objective markers visible now even they are invisible because no line of sight.
  • Mission eliminate target enemies have their markers visible now even they are invisible because no los (Easy and Normal difficulties).
  • Fixed a bug that allowed AI teammates to move while stunned by flashbang grenades.
  • Jinx is now unable to hack turrets that are invisible because no los.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed enemy turrets keep shooting at players and TMs crouching behind a cover.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.8.2 - Patch Notes!

Hey, this update contains some pretty big changes to the gameplay. The biggest one is that you cannot see enemies through walls anymore if no one on your team has a line of sight. The game can be a bit more challenging now but the difference should not be too huge. This can potentially have some bugs, so please let me know if you find some weird stuff bothering your gameplay experience. I have also been working for a new mission, so the next update is planned to be that one.

0.8.2 Patch Notes


New features:



  • Enemies (and civilians) are now visible only when the player character or an another team member has a line of sight to them. They are dissolved back to invisible if no one has a los within 3 seconds. Added an appear/dissolve effect to make enemies turning to visible a bit easier to spot.
  • Enemies and Teammates are now MUCH better using covers. Staying crouched when taking too much damage or being clearly outnumbered etc. Enemies can also go to a cover pre-emptive when hearing weapon noises. 50% of enemies are randomized to be able to use covers.
  • Elite enemies with body armors (regenerating armor bars), better quality level weapons, and suppressors sometimes. ~20% (affected by difficulty level) portion of regular enemies are randomly promoted to elites, so they are not always at exactly same locations. Regular enemies who doesn't have the armor bar cannot drop armor pickups anymore.

New weapons and adjustments:



  • Added two new weapons, RPK light machine gun, and AKSU-74 assault rifle.
  • Heavy weapons are now divided into Heavy I and Heavy II categories. Heavy I gives half less mobility penalties than Heavy II. AA-12 and RPK are Heavy I, other Heavy weapons are Heavy II.
  • Sniper rifles deal +50% damage to enemies with body armors.

Fixes and improvements:



  • Improvements to Ai Teammates logic how they select the best target to shoot -> a little boost to Teammates performance.
  • Fixed a bug that caused camera movement being inverted in some cases while climbing ladders.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a civilian hostage following the player, potentially get stuck and stop following after exiting a ladder.
  • Enemies not visible to camera but in the line of sight to the player character are now rendered in red (parts that are hidden to the player) instead of red outlines. Also made this effect to be triggered more often.
  • Fixed a bug causing incorrect bullet spread sometimes while auto firing and simultaneously switching Aim Down Sights on/off.
  • Teammates should now stay closer to the location where individually commanded to move.
  • Teammates aggressive range to chase enemies is reduced also while the player is behind a cover.
  • Teammates following the player prefers now locations near to cover objects.
  • Armor drops are now less RNG (it was possible to get no drops for entire mission if really unlucky, especially on harder difficulties).
  • Enemies are given +10% to attack range in some situations, like when shooting back to the player who dealt damage to them.
  • Suppressors are now visible on weapon pickups.
  • Weapon pickups with upgraded weapon quality levels are now color coded while holding down ALT to see items on ground.
  • Swap an equipped weapon to a weapon on ground -widget shows now weapon images, quality levels etc. instead of plain text.
  • Prison Break: Added a couple computers to help to locate the prisoners.
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies sometimes keep shooting the player even the player is downed.
  • Auto turrets have now reduced attack range while attacking the player from screen bottom direction.
  • Dexter's Explosives Awareness gives now also 33% reduction to flashbang duration.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a throwing knife not be retrievable when thrown to a sleeping enemy equipped with a melee weapon.
  • Teammates are no longer spawned into Lobby Map if a client player leaves a multiplayer game.
  • + Fixed some additional minor or cosmetic "issues".

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.8.1 - Patch Notes

0.8.1 Patch Notes


New features:

  • Added electricity boxes that can be shot to take out lights. Also added more computers and control panels that can be used to turn off lights. Almost all lights can be turned off (Night only).
  • Added a new weapon, M16 M203, an assault rifle with a grenade launcher. To activate/deactivate the grenade launcher, press the weapon select number key again.

Fixes and improvements:

  • Sleeping enemies have now wake up animations instead of teleporting to standing near beds. ​
  • Fixed a bug that caused AI teammates not shoot sleeping enemies correctly.
  • AI teammates near stairs ignores now non-aggressive enemies on another floors if there is no player. Also avoids locations on stairs when following the player if no player is overlapping the stairs -> Less AI team rushing to another floors.
  • Added an additional check to prevent characters getting stuck if downed and revived in low height space like under stairs.
  • Ducking behind covers is now a lot more effective to prevent enemy firing at the player.
  • Awareness skill spots now also turrets.
  • Enemies have attack range reduced a bit when targeting the player from screen bottom direction -> the player should always able to shoot back when max "zooming" at enemy direction.
  • Characters cannot deal melee damage through doors anymore.
  • Ammo counter is now turned red when low ammo.
  • All lights are now more bright when the night vision is turned on.
  • Fixed some enemy health bar visibility issues.
  • Sleeping enemies have now high chance to wake up when a window breaks near them.
  • Fixed an issue that caused trigger become stuck sometimes and shoot the remaining magazine when pressing melee and fire buttons close together.
  • Firing with an auto-fire weapon continues now after reloading a weapon if fire btn is pressed down and hold during weapon reload.
  • A flashlight using player is now considered to not be in shadows (Night only).
  • Fixed a bug in the lobby screen that caused the screen's buttons not be interactable if the screen was opened when player had show interaction key info visible (example near door, "[E] Open Door").

​Adjusted weapon stats:

  • Adjusted some weapons reload speeds slightly (Sawed-Off Shotgun most speed boost).

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.8.0 - New Mission Update!

Hey, it's finally time for a new update. Sorry that it took a bit too long to release this one. The update adds a new mission, couple cool improvements to the night mode, and bunch of other changes and fixes. Please let me know if you spot some weird bugs after the update.

0.8.0 Patch Notes


New content:

  • Added a new mission, Tower Affair

New features:

  • Added a night vision (Default key 'N'). Not just makes screen green, but also adds some glow to characters to make them clearly visible in dark surroundings
  • Sleeping enemies can now be found on beds and sofas, waiting for a throwing knife to their faces (Night only)
  • If the player is in shadows, enemies need to see him for up to couple seconds before they detect. The required time is based on distance. Enemies are also less likely to detect dead bodies in shadows. (Night only)
  • Interactable items to turn off building lights. Currently there is a computer in Tower Affair mission that can be used to turn off the lights in the Tower. Planning to add fuse boxes etc. to another maps also. (Night only)
  • Teammates can now quick commanded to move with F1-F3 keys

Fixes and improvements:

  • Removed the enemy health bonus from multiplayer. Was max +25% in 4 player game. It made balancing weapons etc. unnecessary complex.
  • Eliminate target enemies can now be in camping mode, where they move to a room and start staring at a door instead of rushing and getting killed. They can also spread this behavior to an another enemy to act as their guard.
  • Grenade throw is now toggle style. 'G' toggle and 'mouse left' to release.
  • Switches now automatically to the next available grenade if out of currently selected grenade after throwing a grenade.
  • Computer screens are now randomized to be on/off. And if on they turn off when shot. Also all interactable computers turn On when interacting.
  • Used throwing knives pickups are now less likely to spawn to unreachable locations.
  • Fixed a bug that caused a throwing knife to push the targeted enemy back if the knife hits the floor before enemy and slides to the enemy's feet.
  • Removed the negative damage modifier when throwing a knife while crouched.
  • Fixed a bug that caused melee attacks with a weapon without a suppressor make more "noise" to be heard by enemies than a weapon with the suppressor.
  • Fixed a bug causing a late joining client player to see broken windows intact if they were broken before the client joined the game.
  • The player character's rotation is now more stable while moving on stairs.
  • Made some sound effects play with lower volume if there are sound blocking walls/floor between the player character and the sound's location.
  • Bullet tracers are now used multiple times instead of spawning a new one on every shot -> Can increase fps slightly when lots of shooting is going and the player has a low end hardware. Also increased the speed of tracers, and added a bit of randomization to size/color.
  • Fixed a bug that caused player to get stuck on ladders if pressing the dash button 'Space' while climbing. It can now also used to exit ladders instead of 'E'.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed interacting with mission objective items through walls if they were enough close.
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies potentially drop their stuff to the another side of the wall.
  • Fixed a bug that caused current magazine ammo to be discarded if the player had less spare ammo than a full magazine when reloading.
  • + Some additional small "fixes" not worth of mentioning.

Blacklist Brigade - Version 0.7.5 - New Mission Update!

Hey, a new version is out and it contains a new mission. This update also adds easy to use throwing knives. Please let me know if you find any bugs, or just leave a comment how do you like the new mission. Since I'm working on this alone, it can take painfully long time to spot some bugs even they would be severe.

  • Added a new mission, Heavy Load

New features:

  • Added throwing knives. Press the melee key (default F) when targeting an enemy that is out of melee range to throw a knife. Damage is increased by Close Combat skill (former Melee Combat), and attacking unaware enemies deals double damage. Used knives can be picked again.

Fixes and improvements:

  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies unable to shoot at crouching players as they should
  • The aiming cursor can't be moved beyond the screen edges anymore
  • Enemies that are spawned but distance is far should now have less impact on performance
  • Improved auto turrets accuracy against moving targets
  • Fixed a bug that allowed planting laser trip mines on another characters (stayed floating in the air after the character moves)
  • Jinx has now PDA in her hands while hacking
  • Jinx's Hacking ability can now be used to hack certain control panels that require a key card otherwise
  • The enemy attack range is now increased when they are targeting at players who are sniping from higher elevation
  • AI teammates attack range is increased in specific situations to make sure they are always able to shoot back

  • Fixed a bug that allowed AI characters to shoot through floors sometimes
  • Players are now not able to take another copy of a key card they already have (multiplayer only)
  • It's now possible to throw grenades to higher locations while on outdoors
  • Using a First Aid Kit to heal a friendly doesn't fail anymore if the target makes a small move but stays within 2.5m range
  • The flash effect from exploding fire extinguishers is now less flashy than flashbangs' effect
  • Fixed a weird bug that caused a client player to be unable to move after exits a ladder if a dead host player is spectating
  • Fixed a bug that caused enemies fly around too much and not fall down directly if died on a ladder
  • If a player dies and he has a rescued civilian follower, the civilian can now be rescued by another player
  • Enemies that are shooting shares their current target for a bit longer distance on higher difficulty levels (blocked by building walls)

Skill adjustments:

  • Melee Combat skill is renamed to Close Combat and it also affects Throwing Knives. The maximum damage bonus is now +100% instead of +50%
