Hi all, a quick deviation from Blade Symphony (I'll be bringing patch news as well as news of a competiton for Blade Symphony soon).
Galacide + DLCs are now on sale -80% off. We recently released the soundtrack for Galacide composed by Tom Stoffel (the same composer for Blade Symphony's sound track). If you haven't played Galacide why not give it a spin and if you're a big fan of Tom's work, the game + soundtrack is well worth it!

A little bit change of plans. The beach summer map occurs to be too buggy for us to use. So we are going with duel_box.

Here is the stream. http://twitch.tv/igno1
Tournament starts at 4 pm eastern time.
LETS GET THIS TOURNAMENT STARTED!
Bot Competition Results!
I would just like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who participated.
I was not looking for anything in particular and I didn't really have too much in mind when I made the competition apart from I wanted to A: Encourage players to load up the bots and see the new improvements and B: I wanted to observe other players fighting the bots. That's about it.
So before I get onto the winners, I would just like to announce that all entrants will recieve the 10,000 in-game notes.

Patch 3994 - The AI Opponent Improvement Patch, Item Price Reduction + Capes!
- Bots -
This patch features significant improvements to the training bot's behavior.
I was very passionate about bot improvement during the early development stages of the game, but it was never something that featured high on our priority list. Recently I've been working on the bot on and off and slowly making some progress. I guess my main goal is to have a bot that is less predictable and more responsive, these two attributes are probably what were missing most. I've still got a long way to go before I achieve some of my own personal goals; however, I do feel the bot has now come a long way already.
I could list all the things I've improved with the bot but I think it would be more pleasing if you guys fired up the Training - AI Opponent and see for your selves. Simply choose an opponent, select the sword (Longsword, Scimitar, Rapier play the best Jian is also quite good and Katana probably takes the least effective award). You should leave the rest of the settings in the AI Opponent menu set to default or random. If you feel the bot is still to easy by all means step up and play 2 vs 1!
Here's an earlier video I showed before to some of you (the terri-bad quality one).

- Reduction of Notes for all Official items -
I've decided to cut the price (Notes) of all the official items by -50% (for those that don't know they're not micro-transactions, you just have to win on duel ranked servers to gain them).
- Capes -
I've added four new purchasable capes to the game:
I decided to make two traditional looking capes and two high tech capes, I hope you'll enjoy them!
Lastly...
-Tournament Capes -
30 players from the last tournament should all now receive their unique capes. Thanks to Hikki.exe and ManOfHonor for designing and organising them.
Here's a list of the players who won a cape in the tournament:

Happy Birthday Blade Symphony.
2 years since Steam Official release,
3 years since Steam Early Access,
5 years since Kickstarter and first public Alpha.
And around 8 years since original inception.
I first saw this game myself back in 2010 on moddb. I knew then that this would be something I'd like to play. I participated in the public alpha at the beginning of 2011, I backed the game and team on Kickstarter the summer of 2011 after being completely hooked on the alpha. In August that year I joined the team, for me the rest is history.
People have come and gone, players and developers a like, our fallen Heroes will be missed for everyone of them fought gallantly. The battle is not over, it probably never will be, everyday new challengers arrive striving to wield their swords with the same steady grip as their masters, and masters before them.
PunyHuman would like to thank everyone who has given the game a fair shot, we bow before those who have dueled for countless hours trying to develop and perfect their own unique style.
A big thank you to the community contributors!
There are too many to mention all by name. People have contributed to this game in so, so many ways, the teachers, the tournament organizers, the casters, commentators, streamers, guide writers, server operators, scripters, mappers and of course the workshoppers! As others have said before its these contributions that have made the game!
I would like to highlight some special workshoppers who have created a huge number of items for the game, there are many more people, but these few mentioned here went above and beyond.
Also quick shout out to York, Elmo and everyone else out there who brought something to the table for us to feast on!
Moving on, I'd like to point out there are community tournaments and events in the pipeline, I'll try do a better job of promoting things as they come up!
There will be a patch soon'ish?!? Not much to show at the moment but here's a video of an ever improving training bot (with some cult Tom Stoffle music playing):
https://youtu.be/Dps1LSFVQGU
You can duel this bot in the AI Opponent section of the tutorial on our Nightly build right now, if you're interested!
The bot will now shuffle, roll, jump, aircancel, evade charges, punish interrupted opponents and generally try to give you a hard time. The bot also no longer stays in kneeling position when knocked down.
Lastly, yes the game is a roller coaster of highs and lows, all I can say is I think most of you will agree that there can be moments in the game that are truly magical, I've certainly enjoyed those moments many times when locked into intense duels with worthy opponents, playing on the edge and in the zone, most of you will know what I'm talking about.
Lastly here's some early concept art, some of it probably has never seen the light of day until now, enjoy:
