Blast Zone! Tournament

Chat Filtering, User Reporting, Cross-Play PS4 & Xbox One

Today's update has a lot of nuts-and-bolts for PC-PS4 crossplay as well as PC-Xbox One crossplay. Everyone can play with PC players.

Xbox One and PS4 players will not be able to directly compete until we get Sony's approval (on our end its super easy, we just need Sony's ok).

BZT now has basic chat filtering. If you chat, and swear, you'll notice **** when bad words are typed in. If you have a questionable user name, it will also get filtered. If you're creative, you'll work around these filters. Please be nice to each other. :)

Also, there is now the option to "Report User" for inappropriate or abusive behavior. Just click on the player's bomber, then click "Report User" then confirm the action. We'll likely later add a dialog box so you can type in more specific complaints about troublesome users.

Hope you have a blast!

High load server went down @ 5AM PST - 8 AM PST (Tokyo 10 PM - 1 AM) - WORKING ON FIX

Hours ago, when the Blast Zone! Tournament was at its highest concurrent user count ever, the game servers went down and matches couldn't be started. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused many many players.

We are working on a fix. We temporarily resolved the issue by increasing some timeout timers and also rebooting the servers. A real solution is being worked on. In the meantime, if you cannot get into a match - let us know IMMEDIATELY.

We understand that outages are frustrating and thank you for your continued support.

Blast Zone! Tournament Blows Up PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam on Feb. 28, 2019

DETROIT – Jan. 10, 2019 – Blast Zone! Tournament, a modern take on competitive bomb-throwing arena games, explodes out of Early Access on Feb. 28 and rockets onto PlayStation 4 and Xbox One alongside the full Steam release.

To celebrate the upcoming launch Valve Corporation in cooperation with Victory Lap Games, a team of AAA veterans who held leadership positions on Ratchet & Clank, Resistance: Fall of Man, Descent and Red Faction, is offering Blast Zone! Tournament free on Steam from today until Jan. 16.

Blast Zone! Tournament expands on the frantic fun of Blast Zone!, which has been enjoyed by more than 1,000,000 players, with 32-player multiplayer enhanced by PlayStation 4 to PC and Xbox One to PC cross play, 283 multiplayer maps, a story-driven single player campaign with 240 challenges, more than 10 billion cosmetic combinations and social features, all delivered in 4K HD at 60 FPS on PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X.

Hop quickly into online matchmaking for 32-player battle royale, team knockout, or free-for-all matches in a fast-paced, desperate scurry to blow each other into oblivion. Create custom games and compete solo or on teams to collect coins, protect your king, survive a zombie apocalypse or score the most kills. Work your way up the leaderboards each season in a gameplay experience that’s classic at its core but refined for a modern era.

Thrilling arena battles are fueled by thumping EDM tunes and presented in an exaggerated cartoony style developed by John Wu, a former concept artist at Sony Computer Entertainment of America who worked on Ratchet & Clank, God of War III, and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and Twisted Metal.

“Bomberman was ripe for esports before the term was coined,” said Chris Pfeiffer, co-founder, Victory Lap Games. “Matches crescendo to completion in just a few minutes and the gameplay is easy to learn but incredibly hard to master. With Blast Zone! Tournament, we’re applying the best parts of popular esports franchises to push the genre forward into the future.”

Blast Zone! Tournament is currently available in Steam Early Access and will be available at full launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam for $19.99 USD. It will support English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Russian, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional) and Turkish.

Feature Complete for Launch!

With a lot of hard work and community support, here are the features that will be apart of the upcoming launch on Feb 28th:

Key Launch Features

  • Story-driven single-player campaign provides 240 unique challenges
  • 32- player cross-platform multiplayer either local, online, or combined
  • 10 solo and team-based multiplayer modes including Free-For-All, Team Deathmatch, Bomb Blast, Treasure Mode, King Mode, Zombie Mode and more!
  • 283 multiplayer levels, with tweakable options including handicaps, lives, starting items, bomber stats, overall match settings, and more
  • Create individual characters with over 10 billion unlockable cosmetic and gear item combinations
  • Robust set of social features from friends lists to partying, news, mail, and more to help foster a healthy community and lay the foundations for esports tournaments

Thank you for your continued support!
