"The Interface Update" Preview

We can confirm that The Interface Update will in fact be the first big update to Blasted Fortress.

It may sound a little boring, but the Interface Update is important and provides a skeleton for our future endeavors. It's an absolute necessity for the big content update, too. We wanted to share with everyone how progress is going, so come along and we'll start off by showing a preview of the home base screen with the Workshop window up.

A, B, C: Your resources are now on a slim-looking top bar. Rather than having resources, season, and experience all separately floating around, they've all been combined on this bar. Tooltips are now available for Talismans (B) to explain what the bar is for in case new players are confused.

D: The Ammo Workshop window is being updated with bigger buttons that sit in an expandable window that can be scrolled using the scroll bar. Why is this useful? Well... it should be obvious, we want to add new ammunition types!

E: If there were two complaints about the current Workshop interface, it's that people are having trouble crafting the exact amount of ammunition they want and that they find it irritating to know what their order will cost. Right now, ammo costs are all hidden behind a tooltip. We're fixing both of those issues here. You can run the skull slider all the way to the right to buy up to 50 ammo at a time, and it will also show you how many resources it will cost to craft all of them together.

The Interface Update is about 25% complete. More work remains to be done, but it's being done quickly.

Have issues with the interface you'd like to see addressed when this update drops? Let us know in the Suggestions forum.

Regarding Pre-Steam Players

Hello!

As forum users have brought up, some of you actually owned the game prior to its Steam release. The intent is definitely not to make you buy the game again; that's no good.

We're currently attempting to load Steam keys into the Indie Game Stand and Desura stores. This process could take the rest of the night. We'll post another announcement as soon as this has been done.

Blasted Fortress was also available as part of a few bundles: Indie Royale and the Flying Bundle.

We want to get keys into the hands of all owners, and we're going to work with the teams responsible for those bundles to see if we can distribute Steam keys directly through them. If not, we'll find another way.

Thanks for your patience while we go through this process.
