Highlights in this update:


  • Lots of changes to materials and plants: More variation, seam fixes, new plants, second procedural layer, distant terrain normal mapping and more...
  • Upgraded world generation: Grass can grow down to water level. Many fixes to holes in terrain near water level.
  • Modular building parts: New ones and lot of fixes.

Some info about v14

Hi!

Next update is my christmas present to you. It includes something new called Modular building parts. It allows you to build big things much faster. Instead of building a house block by block you can now place entire floors and walls at once. Check out this video to see how it works:

Combination of blocks has been around for a very long time. What makes modular building parts so special is the way the parts snap together. You can also split the parts into blocks to work on details. Just like with any other type of block model in the game you can make your own building parts.

I will post an unstable preview soon.

Blockscape bsng v13 (build 4469862) released!

Highlights:


To make the landscape a bit more interesting I added cliffs. They are great places to build on as the top is flat.

Improved lighting. Sky lighting is now more realistic and foliage lighting is much better.

Terrain super smoothing. You want is smooth.

Updated map assets for sand, snow and serveral plants.

Blocks and smooth voxels works much better together now. You can now place blocks partly inside the smooth terrain.

A screenshot of the savegame is now displayed on mouse over savegame name in the loading screen. Helps a lot when you have many savegames or bad memory :)

Lots of optimizations.

New plant types: Branch without leaves, weeping branch without leaves, palm branch, fern and wheat.
