Time to say farewell

Today we are bringing sad news.

As many of you may know, Blood Ancestors hasn’t been a successful product from the beginning. We started working on BA in 2016 and then the market was pretty much different as it is now. We had only a few competitors and we were delivering something different (not different enough), but since our resources and the size of the studio are small our development pace was slower than the other companies, more games appeared during BA development and then the industry changed its direction, but was too late for us we haven’t had the opportunity of change our development direction. Anyway, we’ve tried to deliver the product we wanted to deliver from the beginning but the lack of funds and the pressure forced us to quick release the early access without being able to make a good marketing campaign or even fully test the game.

The game sales were below 1k and this is not enough for us to maintain the company since we are five developers and the monthly costs are very high compared to the income, because of this Snowpeak Studio is closing forever, that means Blood Ancestors will close too. The servers are already closed and they will last that way till we find a solution to revive the game. It’s sad because we’ve been working in new stuff and new game modes we think they can work but we will never know.

We don’t understand this as a goodbye, but a farewell. We will try to keep working in the industry. We really hope we can meet again in the future.

Thank you all you trusted in us and thanks to all the people that showed a bit of interest in the game, even lovers and haters.

New update!

Hello Relic Hunters!

In this patch, we're improving the server browser and the way you create games, also we've added an improved party system, with better integration with Steam.


  • Added new message system with better understandable tips
  • Fixed some bugs with bots not filling the server properly
  • Fixed some scoreboard bugs not showing all the players
  • Fixed the end game scores not showing human players.
  • Remove the spawn time in TDM game mode
  • Added a capture cooldown for pillars in Relic mode, once you capture the pillar it will be blocked for 30 seconds.


Known bugs: Some translations aren't in-game yet

We're also working on a new big update for the upcoming weeks which will bring a new game mode which will please all of you. We will be also posting on social networks about news and updates and more stuff.

Patch notes 09.01.2019 - New era


Overview

Hi Relic Hunters.

After many months without patching, here it comes the new update. We’ve been working on a new matchmaking system and a new party system. Keep in mind both systems are in beta version and could have some bugs.

One of the most important changes is that now the Bearer isn’t the only one to have 3rd person view. After tons of feedback and advice we’ve decided to switch the game to 3rd person view and you will see, the changes are huge.

We’ve also added a new game mode, Team Deathmatch. If you just want to kill your enemies, just join a TDM game and let the slaughter begin.


  • All the previous bugs should be fixed
  • Many skills have been reworked
  • Sounds and music have been tweaked and improved
  • And many other things….


As a side note, we’re still working on improving the overall systems and we’re planning a new game mode which will please you all.

Blood Ancestors Early Access released with a 40% OFF!!!

End of Open Alpha

Hi Relic Hunters.

Today we're closing the Open Alpha, and we really want to thank everyone who has participated in the test. The open alpha was the last phase for us to have the base for Blood Ancestors. We've been doing closed tests and semi-open tests with many many people during more than 8 months now, and the feedback we've got from this has been very valuable.

Now is time to move to Beta and time to release the Early Access of Blood Ancestors, for those that really believe in us or who want the game to improve to become a big game, just be ready to contribute your grain of sand and become part of this game, this studio and this family.

Thanks again to all for giving us your sincere feedback and for being so awesome. See you all tomorrow in the new era of Blood Ancestors.

Patch notes a0.10.5 (hotfix)

Hi Relic Hunters

Today we're releasing a hotfix trying to fix the huge lag spikes experienced in the game.

Fixes

  • Bot invasion fixed
  • A problem in the UI replicating the capture progress
  • Text box when killing someone shouldn’t show anymore
  • Fixed a problem with queues


Additions

  • Added sound info for when the health is low
  • Added info when the Relic is captured showing the Bearer HP text in a different color for enemy and ally

Lags and bad performance issue

Hi Relic Hunters

We've noticed since yesterday's patch that some games are experiencing huge ping and lag spikes. We are pretty sure this is caused by the "bot invasion", a glitch in Matrix that spawns too many bots on each side.

While I'm writing these lines, we're testing a new patch which should fix this issue and make the BA experience more enjoyable for you all.

Fixes

  • Auto switch team causes unexpected behavior
  • Skill screen (J) stays on screen
  • Skills disappear from skill bar
  • Ghost queues! Infinite queue
  • Bloodshield not recovering health
  • Class selection: Not blocking chosen classes
  • Suction Fx does not disappear
  • Leech does not heal
  • When respawning after being the bearer you keep the bearer skills
  • In the bearer phase, people spawn inside props
  • You don't know if an enemy is capturing your crystal until it is captured
  • Spawning with 0 health bug. This bug was caused by the auto balance (which is being disabled). This bug won't show any more
  • Graphics settings and keybinding won't save
  • Bots now should fill the server as intended and be kicked when a player joins the game. Player count shouldn’t exceed 10


Adds and Changes

  • Added phase information and mission goal to the join in progress window
  • Added information for when the relic is being captured
  • Tweaked capture speed, the more players in the relic the faster will be captured
  • Bearer speed has been lowered
  • Now if a player is capturing, nobody else will be able to capture
  • When a player is capturing if he’s damaged, capture will be canceled.
