Bugfixes in progress, please be patient
Hi everyone,
without further ado, we say it plainly: "At this point, we failed the release pretty bad!" We are making this game for 5 years already and we presented and tested it publicly many times before. We worked very hard and insane hours to meet the original release date and still made the game exactly the way we wanted. And we really thought that it's possible and we could do it without any bigger issues. We wouldn't release the game if we thought otherwise. We are inexperienced and naive.
As we are a very small team of hobby indie developers with no previous experience in game development, we have very limited resources, also our user beta testing was limited, apparently inadequate and it seems that we were not able to find (not even nearly) most of the bugs that blowed up right after the release to the public.
We are very sorry and we apologise to everyone who already bought the game and didn't like it. It's completely understandable if you feel it didn't meet your expectations and want to issue a refund if it's still possible. Once again we are very sorry. Blood was spilled pretty bad on our side this time.
That being said, most of the bugs and issues is not very serious and hopefully we are able to fix them as soon as possible. Even right now we are working very hard to fix all the issues that we missed and to get the game to the appropriate state. We are going to post updates very frequently so please have your auto update enabled.
Even if we maybe have no right to do so, we still ask for your patience and trust.
Sincerely
Doublequote studio
Blood will be Spilled is out now!
Howdy fellow gunslingers, outlaws and desperados,
after almost 5 years in development, the game is finally out and ready for you to shoot some of the annoying insects on your journey to revenge!
We really hope that you'll all enjoy wandering with Jack through this hand-drawn harsh Wild West world full of strange allies, deadly enemies and other rather peculiar characters. That you'll count every bullet on the way through dusty canyons and deserts and make all of the bad guys pay for what they did to him.
As we didn't want to disappoint our few fellow fans, we really wanted to release the game in time. Unfortunately, very short before the original release date, we encountered one pretty serious problem that made us to postpone the launch of the game. We are sorry for that and really thankful for your patience and support. As a thanks to our fans, we are launching the game with 10% discount.
The game itself still deserves a bit of an aesthetical polish here and there. Also difficulty balancing of the combat and scoring still requires a little tuning. We'll keep working on the game in following days and weeks to get it into its best shape possible. Also with your help and feedback.
We are a small team of (mostly) three ambitious yet quite inexperienced developers, with very limited resources, making our first game. For us, it was an incredible adventure full of hard work and great moments. We put our hearts and souls into this game, made lots of bad decisions and almost every mistake you could imagine, still trying to deliver the best game that we always wanted to make.
Since hunting and killing bugs is what we do for a living now, as it usually is with games, you might encounter a bug or two yourself. If (when) this happens, please contact us and send it our way and we will do our best to solve that problem for good as soon as possible.
Also, we would be really grateful if you could help us by sharing the news with your friends and giving us a positive review.
Cheers, and don’t forget to keep your gun clean and your powder dry,
Doublequote Studio
Postponing the release date
Howdy cowboys! Unfortunately, we have some bad news. Due to unforeseen complications in the last days leading up the release of Blood will be Spilled, we stumbled upon few issues that made us reconsider our release date. We were really working our hardest to get it all done in time, so that we wouldn’t need to postpone the time of the release, but we’re just a very small team of three and a half people. And we didn’t want to disappoint those few fans we have by releasing the game in a state that we’re not happy with. It was a choice between two evils and we hope we chose the lesser one.
So, without further ado, the new, postponed release date is on Wednesday May 29th 2019. We would really like to apologize to any people we disappointed, but we simply ask you to wait just a little bit longer.
Thank you very much for your support and hopefully see you all next week.
Sincerely,
Doublequote Studio Team
