This has been one week since I started development on the game after the ludumdare compo.
In this post I'll show you some of the things that were added since the original game concept from Ludum Dare 44.
New item: The Compass
You can find the compass in chests or in the shop, but it is costly. Its goal is to give hints about where the exit is located in the current level.
Having the compass is a great powerup for huge levels, and it will save you a big amount of time. But, you know, you have to pay it with your Life/Time, so you have to think quickly. Will it be worth the loss ?
New Monster: The Bat
Everybody loves bats. Now there are bats in Bloodia!
These monsters can go through the walls, making some new interesting challenges for the player.
Coop Multiplayer
I've added two multiplayer local coop modes: One with shared life and one without shared life.
What that means ? You can have all the players share the same Life. If a player dies, that means every other player will die. And that also means that the money is shared.
This is really experimental, and it will need to be play-tested and balanced a lot, but it gives a lot of cool situations.
Arrows powerups
I've implemented two special features for bow and arrows: Piercing and Bouncing arrows.
Piercing arrows won't disappear when they hit a monster, they will go through and then be able to hit many monsters!
Bouncing arrows won't disappear when they hit a wall, but instead they will bounce in the opposite direction.
You can also combine these two powerups, and make arrows pierce, bounce, then pierce again, then bounce again...
Reworked graphics
The original compo graphics for the walls were really basic. This is just a block.
I've worked on new tiles that make the levels look like some kind of caves.
I also added some details on the ground.
