Hidden Mr. Black Wolf!
Bloodroots' primary antagonist, Mr. Black Wolf, appears several times throughout the game - very often in subtle and hidden ways! He secretly appears in our official media too - tweets, videos, etc.
We're running a giveaway centered around these secret, hidden appearances of Mr. Black Wolf! Here's how to participate:
1- Find as many instances of Mr. Black Wolf's appearance in the game and official media (trailer, social media posts, videos, GIFs, etc.)
2- Send us proof of each Mr. Black Wolf appearance you spot via Discord DM to Woofgang#8270 - For example, screenshots for in-game appearances, links to videos with a timestamp, etc.
3- Mr. Black Wolf appearing in the prologue (game's intro, right before the first level) doesn't count. ALL other instances of his appearance (even just his face in conversation bubbles) are acceptable. Even non-hidden ones.

- Fixed a bug where the game couldn't recognize the timezone and failed to launch
- Fixed a bug where the score for Level 3-3 Bonus would be capped at 150 000
Bloodroots: Launch Update
Thank you so much for being part of this awesome launch! If you haven't yet, be sure to leave a review on Steam if you enjoyed slicing and dicing your way through the game! It helps a TON.
With the feedback we received from the community over the last few months, we've made some adjustments to make Bloodroots better than it's ever been with considerable improvements to the gameflow. Here are the deets!
Creating a platformer in isometric view can be tricky. A lot of the negative feedback we've received stems from this aspect. We tried making some adjustments to shift the challenge of the game from the platforming to the actual combat;
- Removed practically all instances of punitive platforming.
- Added recovery grounds to prevent falling in deadly pits.
- Added wall colliders on the edges of the map.
- Removed certain jumps that were unbalanced.
- Added more ways to reach higher grounds.
The difficulty curve of the game needed some work too - some areas spiked in difficulty and were prone to inducing ragequitting (sorry)! We adjusted the curve to make the game experience smoother as a whole;
- Re-arranged tricky enemies to locations that make more sense.
- Adjusted combat space to give more breathing room during battle.
- Adjusted the sizes of certain areas.
- Adjusted unfair behavior by the bosses in certain phases.
- Toned down and modified some environmental obstacles. (Looking at you, ice level!)
We always kept in mind players who would experience the game with a keyboard and as such, we want you to expect the same smooth flow whether you play with a keyboard or a controller. With this update, following tons of player data, we made sure to polish the keyboard experience even more via small positional changes that greatly affect the flow of movement.
As a whole, we made the game flow better. The core experience of Bloodroots offers you the chance to improvise some deadly combos by using anything around you as a weapon! As such, there are infinite ways of carving your way through an area;
- Tweaked the placement of certain weapons and enemies to improve the feel of a player's progression through areas.
- Added more paths to avoid potential dead ends, giving you even more ways to Jackie Chan your way out of sticky situations!
- Bonus: We hid a bunch of weapons around for you explorers out there.
We really hope you enjoy Bloodroots and a big thank you for supporting our launch! We hope those of you who enjoyed Bloodroots on other consoles can enjoy it on Steam too!
