Thank you for playing the game and your continuous support.
Board Games VR has been in Early Access mode and Free to Play for a very long time. As it was mentioned before in the Early Access description, the game will have a price and no longer available for free.
With all the design and development hours that I've put into this game in the past years, it is now time to update you on the pricing.
Good news
The game will be coming out of Early Access in Jan 1st, 2020. This means the game will be fully released, without the current bugs and issues and will work on currently available VR headsets. More content will be added to the game one at a time once the game is released. This includes new board games, environments, music and more.
Price update
The game will have a new price from September 1st, 2019.
Until then, anyone who owns the game for free, will be able to keep the game for free. Nothing changes. Once the price is updated, anyone who does not own a copy of the game via Steam, will have to purchase it.
Users who already downloaded the game while it is free, will lose the game after uninstalling it and will have to purchase it via Steam.
The change will take place once Steam (Valve) approves the new pricing.
Once the price is set, it will not change (except for discount events).
I mentioned earlier to my community in Patreon, that I will make the pricing something fair and accessible. The game with all its features will be available at € 19.99, $ 19.99, and equivalent conversions into other currencies available on Steam.
Since Board Games VR does not have any microtransactions, or loot boxes, once you purchase the game, you have everything immediately available to you to enjoy.
Extra content
For extra content, I am working on a DLC system. This way, once you purchase the game, you can choose to download extras for the game. I have not decided on the pricing for the DLC content yet. But I would like to make it possible for the users to use the workshop to publish their own games and content for the game.
I will lupdate you more on the workshop features in another announcement in the future.
The new beta channel provides you with the latest game as it is being developed. The content in this channel is not stable and is for users who wish to play the game as it gets made every day.
To enable it, install the game on your Steam client. Then right click on it and go to properties.
In the Properties dialog, head over to the BETAS tab and select the beta channel from the drop down.
Thanks again for your support!
