Hotfix For Leaderboards
Leaderboard Improvements
1. New Leaderboard design with steam integration, your leaderboard name will be taken from the steam platform instead of being manually inputted for easier and more accurate tracking. Score willl also be added to the leaderboard even if its not open like when you get a kill.
2. A new hit animation for boltbreak when a enemy hits you.
3. Improved steam support on the backend.
4. A new water shader that looks better and is more performant.
5. Various bug fixes.
Old anonymous usernames on the leaderboard will be deleted, to update your score with your new name just enter the game and kill at least 1 enemy or die, the game will then take your existing kill score save and upload it to the leaderboard with the steam nickname you have set on your profile.
Launcher fix and back on Steam
The game should now launch properly as well, I had changed the name of the executable file unreal creates and steam had issues finding it, this should now be fixed. if steam related issues happen again please report it to me on discord as almost all testing is done outside of steam either in the unreal editor or through windows explorer and I likely will not be aware of it until I need to open the steam version for some reason or its reported.
Side Note: I saw some old posts from 2023 and 2022 about the game having errors or having issues with DLC, I do not check the steam community forums or reviews often unless I am making a event announcement like I am here. If you have issues with the game please join the discord for support, I likely will not see any post made in the discussions or reviews until long after the issue happened if not reported.
Massive Update for BoltBreak 1
Pretty much everything has changed in this update, I will list the changes below.
1. New graphics on all maps.
2. New menu scene with skin selection, new settings, and changed positions of menu items such as upgrades.
3. Flight has been removed and replaced with improved speedster movement.
4. 3 new enemies coming from BoltBreak 2 have been added including Mirage (speedster), Skullcrusher(Strength tank enemy), and Viper(warrior enemy).
5. New online leaderboards so you can share your high score with friends and other players around the world.
6. Multiple hours of new content with a 100-wave content system.
7. All of the sound design has been overhauled.
8. Dynamic camera animations on the player.
9. Improved VFX on all abilities.
10. Numerous bug fixes.
11. Upgrades have been moved to the paused menu instead of the main menu for in game access.
12. Controller is now supported in menus and gameplay.
13. The numerous keybindings for each power has been replaced by a power wheel and all powers are now bound to left click on KBM and Right trigger on gamepad.
14. All new animations for everything in the game.
15. 10% smaller file size due to improved file storage optimization techniques.
If you played this before then I recommend playing it again with all of the new changes and content as the game is very different now.
BoltBreak will be leaving steam on friday may 5th

Small QOL Patch
BoltBreak 2 Early Demo Guide
I have decided to put the BoltBreak 2 demo previously hosted in the discord on steam for easy install and patching, I will list the instructions on how to play below.
Step 1. make sure BoltBreak 1 is in your steam library and installed.
Step 2. Right Click the game and select "Properties"
Step 3. Once the properties window is open, click "betas"
Step 4. Click the drop down menu and choose "BoltBreak2_Demo"
Step 5. click apply and wait for it to download
Step 6. When you click play button choose the "BoltBreak 2 Demo" version on the pop up.
Step 7. Have Fun!
Reduced file size
I am releasing a patch that adds the following QOL fixes
1. The kill score will now save between play sessions
2. The file size has been reduced from 2.7 gb to 1.7 gb.
3. There is now a prompt in the game that will allow you to review the game on steam without having to leave the game. it happens at random and will only be shown once. I promise not to spam you with it.
NOTE: boltbreak is not in active development but will get continued support for small QoL or bugs that need fixing.
