Bombastic Cars is leaving steam

Dear Players,

Unfortunately Bombastic Cars will be leaving Steam soon.

This is not an easy step for us to take, but due to the decrease in sales that we have experienced and the gerneral issues that Bombastic Cars has had, we decided it would be the best option. We always considered BC to be the kind of fun mini-game that one would play with friends on a games night or just to relax and have some fun. Sadly however, we failed to highlight this aspect of BC and instead focused to much on aspects of the game, that, in hindsight, were not what the game needed.

What does this mean for you as a player?

Until Bombastic Cars leaves steam, everything will stay the same.
After the leave, we will continue to monitor player numbers and decide, when we will remove online features.
If you have just bought Bombastic Cars and this news obviously angers you, steam offers a refund option.

Performance Improvements!

Dear Players,

some users have reported massive performance issues, which should now be fixed with the newest update.

We were running into an issue with a screen-space effect that was used to improve the realism of reflections but caused massive fps-drops on some systems. This took a while to be fixed, because these issues were not showing on our systems and we first needed to identify the root of the problem.

Additionally, we decided to take further measures to improve FPS for low-end machines:

-Harbour's and Volcanoe's Skybox was reworked to not feature realtime-clouds.

-Dunes and Volcanoe have seen improvements regarding the rendering of plants.

-Loft showed a lighting error which was fixed and should now be correctly displayed for every player.

-The Main-Menu was reworked to make no use of realtime area lights, since these also seemed have a disproportionate impact on lower-end systems.

-Volcano will recieve further updates to slowly bring it up to it's old glory, but we will be more careful next time, with the specs of your computers in mind!

-Dark City will recieve more updates as it's fps is still rather low

If you still experience issues, please get back to us, we really appreciate feedback!

Bots have also recieved fixes regarding their performance impact. These fixes will lead to us probably lifting the 3-bot cap in offline mode in the future, but first we will continue to monitor the performance impact these have on your systems.
Bots still have a hard time on Loft, we are aware of these issues and will fix this probably with the next update.
Bots also will recieve updates to behave in a more realistic manner - please still do not take these as a replacements for buddies to play with!
Bombastic Cars was designed as a laid-back game you can enjoy with your pals, bots will never make up for the fun you can have with real human players. Still, these glaring issues that bots currently have will be taken care of, the performance improvements were simply more important for us.

If you have any more questions, please get back to us in the forums.

Tutorial Mode Added!

Dear Players,

due to community feedback, we've added a tutorial mode for new players. You can also find the controller layout under MainMenu->Setting->Show Controllerlayout.
Also, various little bugs have been fixed.

We're currently working on performance updates, these should arrive within the next week, so please be patient.

New Map added and improvements to the UI!

Dear Players,

dark corners, shady streets and a futuristic feeling is how we would describe our newest addition to Bombastic Cars - Dark City! Dark City mixes the style of older street-racing games with brand new tech and awesome lighting. Race trough small passages, shoot your opponents and be careful not to end up crashing!

We're really excited about it and hope you enjoy playing on it!

Meanwhile, we've also tweaked the main menu and fixed some lighting issues where text could become blurred on certain resolutions.
Also, it should now be easier and more intuitive to add your friends in Bombastic Cars and invite them to your lobby.
Stay tuned for the near future as we have a lot more really cool announcements to make!

Bombastic Cars now offers a leveling system for the Cars!

Dear Players,

you can now collect in-game currency by playing (and hopefully winning) games. In-game currency can be used to level up the cars. This way, both the defensive stats and the speed of cars can be upgraded by players.
In the near future this system will also allow players to add additional weapons to their cars and the amount of currency you recieve per game will also be dependent on factors other than which place you achieved- for now though, you can already start making your unlocked vehicles even better!

-A futuristic combat vehicle

We hope you enjoy these updates :-)

New update! We now feature bots and new languages!

Dear Players,

thanks to a suggestion by user Definitely Not Josh, we have now added bots to offline games! Offline games can consist out of up to 4 cars - at least one of which is a human - which means you can top off all of your games with AI enemies!
Currently, the AI is not the smartest thing in our universe, but we're working on making it even more difficult to win against it (and letting the player chose between difficulties).

Also we now support french and portuguese ingame. Next up will be Korean, so if your native language is Korean, you will recieve support for your language in the next couple of days.
