New Class - Demoboy

A new class has been added to Dunderheads!

The Demoboy carries a remote detonating grenade launcher. Shoot up to 10 grenades, then detonate them all at once to inflict massive explosive damage. Leave grenades lying around capture points or doorways to create traps for unsuspecting enemies.

The Demoboy's grenade launcher must be charged up before each shot. The longer you hold down the shoot button, the further your grenade will be launched.

The Demoboy can jump above his own exploding grenades to launch himself up or across the map. The more grenades you detonate under your feet, the further you will fly!

Major Update

A new update bringing a level editor, improved skin editing, bot difficulty levels, a complete multiplayer overhaul and many bug fixes has just gone live!

Map Maker

The most exciting part of this update is the new map maker. You can now create your own maps inside Dunderheads. Maps can be published to the Steam Workshop. You can visit the Steam Workshop HERE to subscribe to maps made by other players. You will be able to play on your subscribed maps when you host a server.

Custom maps will automatically be downloaded if you join someone else's game.

The map maker is very easy to use. You can edit terrain, place objects, modify lighting and the sky and make beautiful (I hope), fully functional maps directly inside Dunderheads.

Multiplayer re-write

I have completely re-written the multiplayer/networking code to run off Steam's own multiplayer services. Previously, some players were unable to properly host servers if they had a strange network configuration, such as if they were behind a wireless extender. The new networking solution should mean that everyone can host their own servers without connection issues.

As you can probably imagine, this is a huge change. There may be some bugs with the new multiplayer code. I would appreciate if you let me know if you have any issues.

Bot Difficulty

I have been told by a few people that the bots are a bit too good. I have added a bunch of new bot difficulty levels, including harmless bots that are lovers, not fighters. You can set the bot difficulty level when you create a new server.

I hope you enjoy this new update. I really look forward to seeing all the awesome new maps you can create. Please let me know what you would like me to work on next. I am thinking of making the terrain react to explosions, and adding shovels so you can tunnel around under the map. What do you think?

Thanks everyone!!

Progress Update

Hello everyone!

Just a quick update on what I have been working on lately, and what you can expect in updates that are just around the corner.

Map Maker
The biggest update coming is the new map maker / editor. Soon everyone will be able to make and publish their own maps to the Steam Workshop and play them in Dunderheads!

The map maker is very easy to use. You can edit terrain, place objects, modify lighting and the sky and make beautiful (I hope), fully functional maps directly inside Dunderheads.

Maps can be play tested and edited using a fly cam, or from the view of the player. You are able to run around and edit your map in real time!

This will be a major update for Dunderheads, as it should drastically increase the number of maps available to play. I look forward to seeing what you guys can create!

Destructible Terrain
The terrain in Dunderheads has been converted over to use voxels. You may be familiar with voxels from Minecraft. The voxels used in Dunderheads is similar, except they are smooth, rather then blocky.

This means that the terrain can change during gameplay. Explosions will leave craters in the ground, and players will be able to dig their own fox holes. I am considering adding a new digger class, that will be able to dig tunnels under the map! Let me know what you think.

New Music!
I have changed the main menu music.

Updates will begin rolling out in the coming weeks. I would like to thank everyone for their support and feedback so far!
