Level Creator (BETA) Update Live.
We have just implemented an in-game level editor in which you can create your own levels and customize however you like with thousands of options available. This is still in beta so expect bugs and glitches. When we decide to fully release this level creator system, we hope to implement the steam workshop with it as well. Post some screenshots of what maps you make and we'd love to see them. We wish everybody a happy new year!
2018 Huge Update Is Live
Major updates:
Lets start off with mode changes,
Survival mode is completely redone. Instead of choosing your weapon before you spawn, you find weapon, health, and ammo drops across the island.
Sadly, Pilot was removed. The reason for this, was because it broke the stranded and survival aspect of the game. It was also super buggy and we would rather put our work into a more vital aspect of the game. You can still play pilot mode if you have a previous version, and it may be coming a way down the road. We hope that you can understand this decision.
Blueprint mode was completely revamped (or replaced) into a new mode called economy.
Economy mode is a concept that many survival shooters have, and we brought this into Boom island. Start with 0$ and kill balls to get money which you can buy in the shop.
Protection mode was brought back to the way it originally was, on the ground.
Thats all for mode changes, now time for gameplay improvements:
The graphics and color scheme is completely different, giving it a more vintage look.
All animations were redone.
You can pick up guns/ammo/health depending on the mode.
Revamped UI.
You cant go in water anymore
Instead of having to reset the game on dealth, it prompts you with a interface to retry that mode.
Some weapon sounds were changed.
Almost a completely new soundtrack.
New menu scheme with the same interface, just the buttons and menus were arranged better.
The tutorial was removed, however in the "more" section of the menu, you can select a tutorial guide, along with many other things that will prompt you to guides on our website.
You can remap controls, in the control settings, allowing you to add controller support as well, making Boom island officially have, "partial controller support".
There are many more updates that we may have forgot, however there are the big ones that we would like to share. Thank you all for all the support and be sure to leave any suggestions in the discussions section.

Holiday Update Now Live (1.3)
It's the holiday season, and Boom island is packed with amazing new content.
Major Updates:
Added Snowflakes and snow effects during gameplay and menus.
Christmas Trees Are on the main menu.
Re-Skinned all balls to be red and green.
The ground texture is snow, and the grass texture has partial snow.
Added a new song
Minor Updates:
Removed the TV filter from gameplay
Fixed a bug where the game freezes on Protection.
Some Improvements to the tutorial.
Update 1.2 Out Now! New Modes And More!
Major Updates:
We are exited to announce that a brand new mode has come to Boom Island and it is one of the best yet. Introducing Pilot Mode!
In Pilot Mode, you are flying a biplane, armed with mounted machine guns. Perform tricks and fly byes on exploding balls in the way. Mow through clusters of beach balls with two mounted machine guns on the wings.
Protection mode, is now updated as well. Rather than staying in a stationary, broken plane, you are now strapped into a plane which is slowly circling the island as you shoot balls with your unlimited ammo machine gun. You are also no longer limited to look only horizontally. Unlike Pilot mode you do not have to worry about controlling the plane.
Minor Updates:
Removed ADS on MP-18.
Semi-Partial Controller support, meaning only basic movement, looking, and shooting supported. Making the game somewhat playable with a controller. Controller support has not been officially added, but may come soon.
Fire-Rate on the P-08 has been decreased.
Gamemode section has 4 buttons now, due to pilot mode.

First Patch Update Is Live
Updates:
The New MP-18: The MP-18 is a PPSH reskin and rename. It includes all the same stats as the ppsh. This was done to maintain accuracy which fits the time era.
A new menu and UI reskin: The new UI features a grey tone which fits the games new menu. The menu location is on the island with Vintage effects rather than next to a TV.
A few more small bugs were patched and little things were changed such as the leaderboard's display number. Overall this has not been a huge update, but it polishes the game up. If you have any suggestions, please tell us in discussions.
Note: If you are having trouble not recieving the update, please try reinstalling the game or logging out of steam and check back to see if it is updating.
