Great news! For those 1.5 people who wanted to play BOOMER SLAYERS with a gamepad, you can now do it! (sort of)
Thanks to some generous playa, our company was able to purchase playstation dualshock gamepad and add some new features to the game!
Bad news is BOOMER SLAYERS was our first big project where we were still learning the game engine. This means that the game code is a big spaghetti mess. Thanks to that we could only add gamepad support in game itself and for in-game menus. So far, no main menu or char setup screen via gamepad, sowwy!
But, you can finally play the game with your imaginary friend! Either P1 controls with mouse+keyboard and P2 plays using gamepad or the other way around!
This whole gamepad gig is part of the BOOMER SLAYERS 2 development! Check out our first playtesting video:
P.S. Remember to setup your gamepad in steam first! Default buttons layout should be ok for playing but you can always change it in steam settings!

Unreal Engine 5 visual update!
It's been a long time since last update because of recent political events, unfortunately.
Our company decided to add blood effects for players who want to replay the game with some visual novelty!
Since Unreal Engine supports Lumen global illumination system, we've decided to enable it in our game. You will be able to notice some subtle changes in lighting, especially with emissive materials involved!
Although multiplayer impletentation failed in the end, the option to try it will be present in the main menu, maybe some of you will be able to launch it somehow.
Also, save system is still buggy despite our efforts! Our one-man team decided to give up on this shet after 2 months of trying.
You can switch to PLAYTEST version in steam game options under the "Betas" tab

After 1.5 years of development, our big company (represented by me alone) is finally happy to present this game to you! We would like to say thanks to all those who supported us and participated in testing or spreading information about the game!
SOME HISTORY
The first prototype of the game was created as much as 2.5 years ago (time flies, huh). I was working on this after work in parallel with the study of the UNREAL ENGINE. I am proud to say that the whole game was created by me from scratch exactly as it was imagined. This is a very rare phenomenon in the gaming industry.
BUGS MUST GO ON
Despite several months of effort, there are still a lot of bugs in the game that are very difficult to eliminate. Our dev team made it a priority to make the game playable, leaving secondary tasks for later. For example, at release, the save system is still unstable, so the purchased cosmetics may not be saved until the next game launch. Unfortunately, the purchased hats won't be saved either, but they remain on the character the next time the game starts.
There was no way to test STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS, but in theory they should work. Let's hope that after some updates the game will be at excellent condition! Please take this into account and do not rush to write a negative review, wait for a couple of patches!
SLAYING TOGETHER
One of the key features of the game was playing together on the same PC or via STEAM REMOTE PLAY. Unfortunately, the second option means a significant lag for the second player, so we made the second character shoot faster and have most combat abilities by default, also because there is no way for him to use the mouse. Nevertheless, playtests have shown that co-op mode is fun enough to use!
DIFFICULTY LEVELS
The game is designed as a serious test of the player's skills. Even the GAME JOURNALIST level requires some reflexes and reaction! NORMAL difficulty is essentially HARD, and the developer himself can hardly deal with VERY NORMAL! But at the same time, we did our best to eliminate unfair situations and making sure that every death is a consequence of the player's actions with the possibility of getting better!

It's been more than a year and we're happy to announce that Boomer Slayers is out soon!
Releasing your first game is like a first date: you're a bit nervous, exited and have no idea how it will go. And the best bet is to not have too high expectations, otherwise you're gonna last for about few minutes. That's why we're trying to be open about it.
So here's what to expect: - Four complete replayable levels plus tutorial. - 3 difficulties to struggle through. - Some stylish character customization: change your outfit colors and even some hats! - 7 different enemy types. - Local co-op mode (if you have any friends, lol) - Dual-wielding mechanics: you can shoot in different directions! - Upgrades! - Certified boomer humor.
As this game is developed by a single guy, bugs are expected as it's basically impossible at this point to manage everything. But hopefully restarting a level doesn't feel like a major setback. Besides, repetition is the road to mastery!
