-Sorry for the lack of updates for Born Into Fear. We're only a small team and we've been working on our new upcoming projects.
Take care :D
Set in the same world as Born Into Fear: Pact of Joy demo out now!
Experience the next installment in the buffer series by trying out our recently released demo Pact of Joy.
- Set 20 years after the events of Born Into Fear. - Our orbs received an upgrade :) - You get a glimpse into a new world.
Update 1.0.8: Can you hear me now?
- You can turn the volume up to 200% now if needed. (It's been stated that our game is on the quieter side and we'd rather let you crank it up rather than blast your ears at the start)
- Fixed a couple issues we had with key bindings and input settings.
- You can bind multiple things to one key if needed. ( I made left click do everything, don't recommend it.)
- Added some text in Jay's garage in case players miss that they have a flashlight or journal.
- Fixed some mission collisions in some houses.
Update 1.0.7: Words are hard :(
- We fixed some typos in the journal and subtitles. (This applies to new games/ if you haven't reach that part yet)
- Removed the "actions will have consequences" notice top left. (It was there during development and we thought we had removed it but it seems it stayed at some points :( sorry for the confusion!)
- Fixed Sally not disappearing at the finale of the True ending.
- We added the option to invert your mouse controls.
- We added "[Tab]" to new journal entry. In the top left notice.
Update 1.0.6: Mommy's Hug
-Fixed an issue where Big Sally couldn't "punish" you properly when you were standing next to mini-sally. (basically big sally was trying to punish mini-sally instead of the player lol)
-Fixed a spot the player could get stuck in inside the final home. (you could totally spam crouch out of it but that's not a proper fix now is it)
Update: 1.0.5: House 108 Crash
-Sometimes when players go inside of house 108 they would crash at what would seem like a random point in the game. We ourselves couldn't get it to crash on our end until we restarted our computers and started a new game. Inside of Unreal Engine it wouldn't give us any error or warning. We were left confused these past couple days wondering why this crash happened to only some people and never consistently.
- Our apologies to the players who suffered from this bug.
- We've potentially fixed the issue and the game should no longer crash at that point.
More details if you're curious in the next point.
- So inside of that bedroom in house 108 a lot of the furniture was merged together into one 3D model. When we merged them it created 8 element slots for all 8 textures. We didn't notice until later that the chair was missing textures and had a default engine texture on it, and we didn't think much of it when we first saw it. Turns out the chair didn't exist at all! It didn't have its own texture and there was actually suppose to be 9 element slots! We eventually noticed that whenever players look at the chair or in the direction of said chair their game would crash. When we tried it for ourselves the same thing happened. But here's the kicker...it's not consistent AT ALL! I have to restart my computer, delete all my save files, and run the game from the start in order to get the crash. What I think was happening was that the computer was trying to find that missing 9th element slot that should exist but didn't and sometimes that would cause the crash. Still not entirely sure on the specifics but hopefully its fixed now! - Noe
Update 1.0.4A: Underground Buttons Issue
(This will NOT affect people who have not touched the buttons underground, completed them, or started a new game)
If you left the some buttons ON and left the underground and continued with the game then saved and reloaded game then there is a chance the buttons will no longer open the door regardless if you get the order correct when you come back to the area to try and solve it again.
We have a solution
1: Once you load in and if the broken buttons are broken, save game underground and re-load your game. That should reset the puzzle and you'll be able to continue.
Shoutout to https://www.twitch.tv/annedromeda844 for finding this issue!
Minor fix: Some visibility issues.
We're sorry for the inconvenience.
Update: 1.0.4
- Blocked access to underground in houses 111, and 107 after player completes chores until they pick up the gold star. (this will only apply to new save, please don't forget your gold stars lol)
- Fixed a major typo in the journal (this will only apply to new saves) house 110 is essential. NOT 112. We're sorry for the confusion this may have caused.
- Made Underground Button's on or off state more clear.
- Hid some mistakes that were left visible towards the end of the game.
- Added more notes to reminders (this will only apply to new saves)
- Fixed issue where the save game object's name wouldn't appear.
Issue in the Journal: House 112 is NOT essential. House 110 is.
There is a typo in the journal that we'll be updating along with other bug fixes and issues that were found.
Born Into Fear out now!
