Meet Dr. Holmes the Whip
We are honored to introduce a new romanceable weapon, Dr. Holmes the Whip! They are a special villain-weapon designed by CEO and Creative Director at Unseen Inc. and former Ghostwire Tokyo director Ikumi Nakamura. We hinted at Dr. Holmes in a secret love letter a few months ago. Some of you were quick to guess some of the clues too! You will encounter them as the boss of the new dunj but they will never accept a wielder. Will you be able to melt her cold heart?
Dr. Holmes will be voiced by popular content creator and streamer, Kathleen 'Loserfruit' Belsten, who you might know from the Fortnite Icon Series! We can't wait for you to meet them!

Hammer and Axe swing into action + A New Song!

It's May and we are getting to the point in DLC development where we have more to show you! We have a few goodies to share here and WAY more reveals coming soon. You might want to tune into The Future of Play Direct, a show happening before Summer Games Fest ... just a suggestion, if you're the kind of person that likes smooching weapons... >_>
Hammer and Axe Abilities
Here are some work-in-progress gifs of the new weapons in the new dunj! You'll notice Axe's weapon form looks a bit different than before. Xin has redone his look to fit his personality and style. As a surfer, it was important for us to include water effects in his attacks, but the old "coral" design was a bit too fancy and unwieldy for his go-with-the-flow feel. His Swing ability causes you to dash forward towards the nearest group of enemies, which is great for mobility and high damage.
Hammer also uses the power of the elements in her attacks. As a professional figure skater, she glides and spins with ease, even though she's a heavy hammer. You build up your energy together by attacking enemies normally, as each kill gives you a counter towards Death Spiral. Then unleash the spin to decimate everything in your path!

Marskye and McQueen are releasing new tracks to go along with the DLC update. You can listen to a preview of one of the secretly-titled songs on Marskye's Soundcloud:

We won another big award, and we have news about the big update coming!

It's Alexandra from Kitfox here with an update on how work has been coming along on the Boyfriend Dungeon DLC as well as some other exciting news. If you've signed up for our Boyfriend Dungeon newsletter, you have already received love letters from Axe, Hammer and the mysterious "H". I can't reveal who the mystery person is quite yet but I hear they are involved with developing new boss fight technology. Sounds like someone I don't want to mess with.
But with all these mysteries afoot, it only makes sense to name the DLC update "Secret Weapons".
A Formal Event
You are cordially invited to attend a special formal event and all the bae blades will be dressed in their finest threads. This will be a story event that takes place during the DLC and wielders will have a chance to take their partner along! Here is what Seven and Sawyer are planning to wear:

Hub Encounters
We are introducing a new DLC feature called "Hub Encounters" where you'll be able to interact with the bae blades while you're exploring the dunj. All of the weapons have been turned into adorable chibi forms. During these encounters you will see new scenes between weapons, most of whom have never interacted together before.
For example, Rowan and Sunder compare hair products. Valeria paints Pocket's portrait. And many more! They're little scenes you'll be able to find in the city between dating and dungeoning, including our dear new Leah and Jonah.
Game Developer's Choice Award
Just last night, Boyfriend Dungeon was awarded the Game Developer's Choice Award for Social Impact. We are incredibly thankful to be honored among so many other amazing games.
We also won a Spawnie Award for Diversity, a show hosted by the lovely folks at Spawn On Me!

Updated Kickstarter backer credits to include names registered up until September 27.
There is now a special sfx sometimes when you kill the last enemy in a challenge
Secret passage entrances should now play sound effects when destroyed
Lasersaber and Estoc combat sfx should now play properly (even when upgraded and/or charging attacks)
Rowan/Scythe will no longer sometimes show up in two places at once while receiving a gift
Various small audio and text improvements
Adjustment to the Flutterbug difficulty

Hammer, Axe and a new Dunj
We have a few updates to share as the Kitfox crew comes back from a much needed break. Ever since Boyfriend Dungeon released, people have been asking a few questions, I decided I'd get a few answers and share them with you. Here's the important bits:
1. Yes, Jonah is coming back to Verona Beach! He will be appearing in the DLC with...
2. Leah the Hammer! If you don't know her, she's kinda famous in Verona Beach because of figure skating. She is planning on coming home for the rest of the summer too!
3. There will be at least one more dunj coming!

Right before launch, we asked the Kitfox team a few questions about what it was like making the game and how they were feeling right before the surprise launch announcement. It's a must-watch for anyone looking for behind the scenes trivia and game dev info!
We can't say exactly when the DLC is coming or any other details for now, but we are still planning on providing regular updates on our progress! The fastest way to see our updates and to receive love letters from the weapons, sign up for our newsletter!

Steam Cards & Collector's Badge now available!
If you collect all nine of the Steam Cards, you'll see even the two weapons not yet wieldable in the game (Axe and Hammer). In a couple of weeks we'll finalize our roadmap for updates, including those weapons, but for now enjoy your cards, emoticons, badges, and backgrounds!
Also, in case you haven't been watching our Twitter or Discord, you might want to check out our limited edition collection of leftover Kickstarter items, including pillowcases with Dagger's weapon-form on one side and human form on the other... and a mug that reveals Dungeonmaster when it's hot!
