Brainmelter Deluxe

Introducing: Super Rocket Ride!

I'm pleased to announce my latest game, Super Rocket Ride!

It can best be described as a cross between old school lander games and classic platformers of the SNES era: a simple control scheme, lush pixel art, and unforgiving levels fraught with obstacles and hazards.

Super Rocket Ride is being developed in collaboration with Unruly Games.

Features
🚀 24 hand-crafted levels (with more on the way)
🚀 Analog controls
🚀 Over-the-top physics-based deaths
🚀 Contemporary atmospheric soundtrack featuring music from Snug, JFS and Ogotu

The game will be hitting Steam in the next few months. If you're interested in checking it out ahead of that, we're running early access on Itch for the next little while.

We're also offering advance copies for streamers, reviewers, and curators. All we ask is that you reflect the early access status in your coverage, and update it when the game releases in full.

Last but not least, don't forget to join the official Cosmocat Discord to stay up to date about my games and chat with other players about the things that matter in life (mostly: games, beer, cats and music).

Android version now available!

Hi folks, just a quick note to let you know that the Android version is now live on the Play Store!

P.S. if you've already bought the game for PC I will gladly send you a free copy of the Android version! Just drop me a line however is most convenient for you (Discord, Twitter, Facebook, email, etc.) and I will send instructions.

Brainmelter Deluxe goes mobile

Hi guys, just a quick note to let you know that I'm working on a version of Brainmelter Deluxe for Android. If this sounds like something that may be of interest to you can pre-register here, or stop by the Discord to register for the upcoming closed beta.

P.S. iPhone/iPad users, fear not! If the Android release goes well, an iOS version is not far behind.

Build 24

Build 24 is now live and includes the following:

  • new tiles for tutorial level
  • added 1 second to 1UP countdown... I hope I haven't made it too easy 😉
  • more lefty support (W/S for looking up/down)

Build 23

Build 23 is now live and includes the following:

Major visual overhaul!

  • all levels now have proper floor tile details
  • main and transition levels have some extra background details
  • improve boss particles, align lighting colour with animation state
  • add some background animation (spinning fan blades)
  • spinning objects now have a little "anchor" point rather than just fading to nothing

Other changes

  • fix for some particles escaping (or getting stuck in) level geometry (blood, boss impact, steam)
  • minor changes to main level generation, plus some special surprises in the transition level progression (you'll see...)
  • simple lefty support (A/D for movement, however, W/S not implemented for looking up/down yet)

Major visual overhaul coming soon!

I've just uploaded build 22 to the preview branch. Among other things, it includes lots of visual polish across all levels. Check this discussion for more details.
