Patch Notes for PC - 21st June 2023
Hey everyone,
We've pushed a new patch live today for Bramble: The Mountain King on Steam. The reception to the game has been absolutely fantastic, and we thank everyone for playing and for the kind words relayed to the development team.
We hope these changes help fix these issues that some players have been facing! ___________________________________________________________________
- Fixed an issue where some players using keyboards were unable to complete the QTE’s that required you to push down on several keys at the same time
- Made it easier to climb walls and other surfaces
- Made it possible to climb on to “rocking boat” in Swamp level from the side where you detach the Bramble from it
- Addressed the confusion caused by the puzzle in the prince's room by removing the extra holes in the grandfather clock
- Made it easier to jump on the “floating boxes” in Swamp level
- Fixed a bug where the final boss would not advance to its second stage if you shot the flowers while they were closed
- Fixed a bug where the “flower monster” would not react to you if you reset the level in “Tuva”
- Fixed a bug where the flashbacks were not showing up if you died during the sequence in “Dream 3”
- Fixed a misspelling of a name in the credits
- Made it more clear where to climb in the “Butcher boss” area
- Fixed a bug where some bramble and the scepter from the final boss was visible after they were not supposed to
- Fixed a bug where the speed of the minecart in troll forest was dependent on your fps
- Fixed different collision issues
- Fixed a bug where the zombies would stop chasing you sometimes if you hit a collision box
- Fixed a bug where Lillemor would run in a circle if you skipped the belltower cinematic
- Made it easier for the gnomes to not get stuck at the last trap where you try to avoid the bear traps
- Fixed a bug where an ingredient could be falsely automatically added after you made an incorrect potion
- Made it more clear that gnomes were killed if hit by bear traps
- Added planks going into the swamp stealth part to lead the player towards the first hidden planks section
- Updated default settings for steam deck certification

Now that the post-release nerves have eased up, we have some words we wanted to share. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for playing Bramble: The Mountain King. Watching you play as Olle and navigating the dark forest, making friends with gnomes, battling the terrifying Näcken and other creatures, uncovering hidden stories, was an absolute pleasure and a dream come true.
Although you experienced the adventure that we prepped for you, us making the game was an adventure in itself. Throughout our journey, we have been fortunate to have the unwavering support and patience of our family and friends. Their love and inspiration have been instrumental in helping us tap into the rich and haunting fairytales of our childhood, and bringing them to life in the form of this enchanting game. Without their contributions, Bramble: The Mountain King would not have been possible. We also want to say a big thank you to the gaming industry itself; for all their support, advice, and the genuine want for us to succeed. We were blown away that our idols became our mentors and eventually our fans. That still feels surreal to us.
And finally, a big and heartfelt thank you goes to you. Thank you to our community for supporting us throughout all these years. Thank you for your words, your comments, your feedback, and your encouragement. You helped us get this game out to the world. And we’re humbled that you chose to spend your time and play it.

We've pushed a patch live today for Bramble: The Mountain King on Steam. The reception to the game has been absolutely fantastic, and we thank everyone for playing and for the kind words relayed to the development team.
However, we have had a few reports of issues that players have been facing, and wanted to work to fix these to better improve the general experience of all of our amazing players!
- Fix an issue where the game sometimes would not save, and upon resuming the game after closing it down the player’s progress would only be in Nearby Forest. We have not been able to reproduce this issue ourselves so we cannot confirm the fix though.
- Fix an issue on steam deck and some PCs where the video on top of the lighthouse in Pesta did not play, and softlocks the player if it did not play. Now, the video might still not play on those machines, but in case it doesn’t play the video is skipped and the player can resume playing normally.
- Fix an issue where the main menu would receive input while fading in, and the “New Game” button would be auto-focused. This would make players accidentally press the “New Game” button while the menu is fading in. Now, the menu should not be intractable during the fade-in, and the “Continue” button should be auto-focused instead if the player has a save file with progress
- Improve the visibility of the hidden planks in the swamp by increasing the emissivity of the material.

By playing Bramble: The Mountain King on Steam, you will now unlock Steam Trading Cards!
Once you have completed the set of 5 Trading Cards, you will then be able to craft Badges that can be displayed on your Steam Profile
There are also a range of Emoticons based on characters and items from the dark world of Bramble: The Mountain King - available to be purchased with Steam Points and earned as drops also!
Finally, there are also Profile Backgrounds available for players to customise their Steam Profile with - they are not shown here, so you'll be treated to a surprise once you earn them!
