Brave Hand

"Dungeon Run" Mode Update Now Available!

Our first major update is available for Brave Hand, and it brings an all-new game mode! Inspired by your feedback requesting a longer strategic game, I developed the "Dungeon Run" mode that lets you build a combined score across multiple games. You enter the Guardian's Dungeon, and survive through a roguelike experience where your health is your draw deck. Survive until you run out of cards, and find camping checkpoints to replenish your health along the way. Give it a try and send me your feedback in the forums -- if it becomes popular I'd love to expand it further.

This update also addresses the community's most requested bug fixes and translation changes since launch. We're so excited to see the reaction to the game. If you're enjoying it, please drop us a positive review on our Steam Store Page!

Full Update Change List (v0.57):

-New Mode "Dungeon Run": play through multiple games to build a combined score as you dive further into the Guardian's dungeon.
-Added Leaderboards and best score tracking for Zen Mode and Dungeon Run.
-Fixed stat tracking issue that prevented the "5 Clears" achievement from being completed.
-Added Dungeon Run "How To Play" page (note: not translated from english yet).
-New intro tips on your first games of Zen Mode and Dungeon Run.
-New card icon for Jacks (11).
-Dungeon Run has additional 2X multiplier pile bonuses, and added support to modify pile bonuses per mode.
-New end of game screen formatting for Dungeon Run mode.

Translation Bug Fixes:

-Fixed font size issue with How To Play text in Chinese.
-Fixed end of game screen spacing problems in all languages.
-Variety of fixes across languages, including some missing info and formatting on the end of game screen.

Brave Hand is now live on Steam!

Brave Hand just launched, and it’s now available on Steam! Brave Hand is my award-winning press-your-luck meets solitaire card game, and it's finally ready for you to play. It costs just $1.79 ($1.99 with a 10% launch discount), and includes achievements, leaderboards, and Steam Trading Cards. I’m excited for everyone to play and I hope the affordable price encourages you to check it out!

This is the desktop version of my push-your-luck card game Brave Hand. Please expect Brave Hand to be a small, replayable, solitaire-like card game where your goal is to beat your previous score, and unlock a light story along the way. I made it because I loved the simple yet replayable games that came with my first computer, and wanted something like them, but with just a little more strategy. If the main "Brave" mode is too hard or too random for your taste, be sure to try out the other modes! Each mode is designed to cater to a specific type of playstyle. Please contact me through Twitter, our forums, or my website if you run into any trouble or just want to follow along with development. I really hope you enjoy the game. -Scott Brodie

We're also excited to announce the new "Strategic Solitaire" Bundle with 2 other amazing indie card games. Get Ancient Enemy, SHENZHEN SOLITAIRE, and Brave Hand for 25% off together. Check the link on our store page or visit the bundle page directly!

Brave Hand is OUT NOW on Steam! Replayable Card Game Fun

Brave Hand just launched, and it’s now available on Steam! Brave Hand is my award-winning press-your-luck meets solitaire card game, and it's finally ready for you to play. The game features 4 endlessly replayable modes, including a brand-new “Zen Mode.” In the game, you use the cards in your hand to challenge cards in 8 piles, and decide whether to press on challenging the same pile for exponential increase in points, or to stop and bank what you have. With randomized decks, pile complete bonuses, and special card rules to explore, you’ll find yourself playing over and over again. As you play, you unlock an epic story via 16 storybook pages. The pages double as customizable theme decks and backgrounds.

You can expect Brave Hand to be a small, highly-replayable, solitaire-style card game where your goal is to beat your previous score, and unlock a light story along the way. I made it because I loved the simple yet replayable games that came with my first computer, and wanted something like them, but with just a little more strategy.

If the main "Brave" mode is too hard or too random for your taste, you can try out the other modes! Boost Mode adds up to 3 legendary golden cards to your deck. The longer Jumbo Mode has 8 cards per pile and an epic 90 card deck. Finally, Zen Mode makes it easier to progress by letting you win ties and giving you more cards in your hand. Each mode is designed to cater to a specific type of playstyle and give you endless ways to play.
