Stability fixes on the autopilot, radar, ECDIS, and conning GUIs
SP1 Hotfix 1
This micro update fixes the issue where the ship's right throttle / thruster did not work. The right engine was broken in SP1; we apologize for our oversight.
The right engine and its respective throttle / thruster is now functioning properly.
Once again, we apologize for our error in the previous update.
Service Pack 1.0 Released!
This build contains Service Pack 1.0
We have shipped a brand new port: Port of Vancouver! This is where the cruise ships, container vessels, and bulk carriers dock. The entire port is generated with satellite imagery, and we have included the famous Lions-Gate Bridge (shown in screenshot below) -- an icon for the Port of Vancouver!
Various changes to stability have also been added, as well as physical click-able buttons for the weather and settings menu added onto the bottom GUI navigation bar. You can still press i and ESC keys on your keyboard to call these menus up; we just added click-able buttons to the nav bar for your convenience.
Live weather is also set for all ports - including the new Port of Vancouver; just ensure the Live Weather checkbox is checked, apply changes, and you're good to go!
Enjoy! More to come very soon!
Fixed Ocean Reflection Weirdness
Improved:
The ocean's reflections are now gone when water has ripples, wavelets, etc. This is much more realistic (see screenshot below).
Camera panning with right click now locks the cursor so it disappears when panning and returns it to the centre of the game window when right click is released.
Brand New UI - Ultra Clean Look!
ADDED:
Brand new re-designed user interface (UI) using the neumorphism design style (using shadows to simulate a "popping out" look
New UI allows the user to hide everything, even the radar, giving an ultra clean look
CHANGED:
Autopilot font now uses a digital-style font
See the 3 screenshots below:
New Environment & Radar Feature Update
Radar feature update:
Added a new feature: NORTH UP mode!
North Up is a feature we've had requested for a while, and we are so excited to finally bring this feature to you today.
Re-worked major areas of the radar to ensure stability.
New Environment:
Added Horseshoe Bay, Bowen Island, and Langdale
These are actual ferry service routes from Vancouver, Canada (Horseshoe Bay) to the two islands that ferries service on a daily basis.
A full route map can be seen in this screenshot:
Radar Improvements & Tug Model Update
NEW: - updated radar to finish implementation on TRUE vectors - the radar can be set on either REL or TRUE vector modes
IMPROVED: - brand new tug model to replace the existing tug's exterior and interior model - conning display now uses degrees for rudder angle - conning display now says COG instead of HDG for heading
Radar New Features & Ship Dynamics Improvement
New: - added two sets of Electronic Bearing Line (EBL) to the radar to enhance navigation features
Improved: - adjusted bulk carrier's ship dynamics so the ship feels MUCH heavier and more like a ship its size - removed bulk carrier's window tint for transparent windows (for better navigation)
Complete Game Overhaul! New ship, FPS boost, new ship dynamics!
New ship: added a new bulk carrier
New ship dynamics: we decided to scrap our custom ship controller and adopt a plugin called Dynamic Water Physics 2. This gives us almost true to life ship dynamics!
FPS boost: with the new ship dynamics = we stripped out a lot of our own code, which caused some unoptimized resource hogs. FPS is improved and almost any computer should be able to run full time compression without any issues.
Modding Update
We have just released version 2.5 of BridgeTeam! This update brings a very anticipated update: the ability to import your own ship models into the simulator.
While we are still creating more ship models and environments for future updates, we are also opening the platform up for you, the player, to import your own models into the game and configure its ship dynamics.
This update also includes a new proprietary Ship Editor. For the ship's 3D model authors, the author can now run the Ship Editor to encrypt the model with AES-512 bit encryption.
This will produce 2 files: - ship.obj.aes - ship.mtl.aes
This provides a solid copyright protection for the author, and the author can distribute his/her ship model knowing it is well protected from copyright / theft.
BridgeTeam Ship Simulator reads directly from these encrypted formats.
We have a modding guide in a .pdf format, available on our Discord. Feel free to join us for more details on how to create mods!
We look forward to seeing your screenshots of your mods / imported ship models!
