Brocula v1.0.0.17 is live and here are the patch notes
Woah , so many negative reviews. I wont lie that It does sting a little bit, but tbh it was totally my fault for not testing the game thoroughly. And I am gonna make up for it.
I have been listening to your feedback for past few days and been making changes accordingly.
I am updating the game with following changes as per the feedback.

- Fixed an issue where NPC don’t even get out of their homes if save time is close to start of the day.

- Some more minor bug fixes.
Whats coming next in the next build.

Get Ready for Brocula: A Quick Starter Guide!
Less than 24 hours until Brocula launches! Here's a quick guide to get you started:
Spend your first few hours working at the garage or coffee shop to earn red diamonds (experience points) and money.
Crafting a stone axe is cheaper than buying one, so try crafting it if you can.
Make sure to talk to NPCs frequently. You can check their availability days in the Pause Menu.
Unlocking memories is crucial for crafting items that may not be readily available.
Utilize the bus as a convenient means of transportation and find other areas
Transferring an item to trunk in the castle might be better than discarding it.
I will also be on discord, to help you with your questions and queries. Looking forward to you all enjoying the game.

Version 1.0.0.13 is Live
Hi Everyone,
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has played the game over the past two days. Your support and feedback mean the world to me.
I've been carefully listening to your reports of bugs and requests for new features, and I'm excited to share some of the changes that have been implemented in version 1.0.0.13:
- Fixed an issue where proper keys couldn't be used when next to the Coffin - Added a scroll bar to the inventory for easier navigation - Resolved missing translations for 2 NPCs - Fixed the issue of the Doctor getting stuck outside of the Clinic - Investigated reports of players being unable to exit the garage when their shift ends (I'm still unable to replicate this, so if anyone could confirm whether this issue persists, it would be greatly appreciated)
Once again, thank you all for your patience and understanding. I hope these improvements enhance your gameplay experience, even if it's just a little bit.
Warm regards, Prateek / Destroyer Doggo
Wrapping Up the Farming Festival: A Reflection and Gratitude
As the Farming Festival on Steam draws to a close today, I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who took the time to explore the Brocula demo during this special event. Whether you played on Steam or Xbox, your support and enthusiasm mean the world to me.
The past few days have been nothing short of exhilarating. As I eagerly anticipate the launch of a game that has been four years in the making, I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and anxiety. One question that weighs heavily on my mind is the possibility of players encountering bugs that may impact their experience. Despite rigorous testing – including seven full playthroughs – the thought of a bug slipping through the cracks and detracting from your enjoyment is a source of concern for me. If you do come across any bugs, please accept my sincerest apologies. Rest assured, I am committed to resolving them as swiftly as possible to ensure that everyone can fully immerse themselves in the world of Brocula.
On a brighter note, I'm thrilled to share that our Wishlist numbers have soared to 31k. We're just 90 wishlists away from reaching this milestone, and I'm truly blown away by the overwhelming support we've received from our incredible community. Your unwavering encouragement and engagement across various social media platforms have been instrumental in driving Brocula forward, and for that, I am immensely grateful.
As we prepare to embark on this exciting journey together, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your enthusiasm and support fuel my passion for game development, and I can't wait to share Brocula with you all.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Warm regards, Prateek Jadhwani / Destroyer Doggo
2 days to launch on XBOX
Hello Everyone,
I hope you all are doing well. It's been quite the journey. Four years of development have finally led us to this moment - the game is launching in just 2 days. It's still surreal to me, but it's happening.
In just 2 days, Brocula will be available on Xbox, and in 4 days, it will hit Steam.
This is a crucial moment where I humbly ask for your help. I'll admit, I'm not the best at social media marketing. That's where you come in. I would deeply appreciate your support in spreading the word about this game everywhere you can think of - Instagram, Reddit, Facebook, LinkedIn, you name it. Share it with your friends, colleagues, family members, and anyone else who might enjoy it.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to express my sincere gratitude for all the love and support you've shown. Thank you.
Warm regards, Prateek / Destroyer Doggo

Final_final_(r)elease_final.game
Hi All
Thank you so much for being patient while I had that PC mishap last month. I have been extremely busy fixing bugs and updating code for the release. And today is a good day to announce a few things.
Destroyer Doggo at ID@Xbox Digital Sessions
On March 26, 2024, I (Prateek Jadhwani) had an opportunity to talk about Brocula at the ID@Xbox Digital Sessions organised by XBox. This event was hosted by Jun Shen Chia, from the Xbox Global Expansion Team to show their support for independent developers and their upcoming games who are a part of ID@Xbox program.
And because of this event, there were also a lot of news articles. IGN India was kind enough to give their article about this event along with the official XBox Wire article.
Demo Updates
After months of delay, and feedback, I have now updated the demo to version 1.5.0.x. There are a few changes in this update. One of the major updates is the performance. As you might have seen from my earlier posts, I wanted the game to run smoothly on older computers as well. And now it can do that. It even runs smoothly on steam deck, which was earlier an issue.
If you are someone who is interested in the game, but don’t want to buy it yet, feel free to give this version of demo a try again.
Xbox Certification
After months of porting efforts, I am happy to announce that the most recent build of Brocula passed XBox certification guidelines. This was a major hurdle that I needed to clear in order to launch the game on XBox.
With this certification, the demo build is also available on XBox. Here is the link to the demo, if you would like to give it a try.
This is mind blowing. I never imagined that so many people would be interested in this small game of mine. Thank you all who have wishlisted the game and are looking forward to the release. Which brings me to the next topic at hand.
Release Dates
Finally, the section you all have been waiting for. After a lot of thinking and testing, I have decided that the release date of this game should be as follows:
1. XBox: 7th May 2. Steam: 9th May
This date is not too close for me to not fix any last minute bugs and not too far that we all forget about the release.
If you are an influencer or from the Press, please feel free to request a review copy on KeyMailer for your favourite platform (XBox or Steam). Keys will be released on 1st of May, so you will have 1 whole week to play in advance.
Lastly, thank you all who have been a part of this journey. From making the first prototype of this game to finally releasing the game, this has been a long and emotional journey. I thank everyone who have been a part of this journey, and for all the love and support.
Best of Luck fellow Vampires, Prateek Jadhwani
Dev Updates March 2024
Hi All,
Hope you all are having a wonderful march. Just wanted to write this post to let folks know about this months updates on the game. So, here it goes.
Broken Laptop
Few weeks ago I had a power surge at my place which made my laptop stop working. I had to order a cable for its component which is not available in India to get it repaired. I received the cable yesterday, but that was not the correct one. International shipping returns are more expensive than the actual product, so I ended up buying a new laptop.
I have been setting up this new laptop all day long today for dev work. I should be be able to start working on XBox, Windows and Steam Deck builds again this week. Once I have everything setup, I will update the release date on the store page.
Performance Updates
I have been using my M1 mac Air for mac development. And there have been some good performance improvements in the past few weeks.
This was from 2 weeks ago. (Consistent 150FPS)
This is from Today (Consistent 200+ FPS)
Why do these performance improvements matter?
Simple reason being not every one has a gaming laptop. I want the game to be able to run on older computers as well. I would love to see these performance gains on my Steam deck (which I will be testing in the coming days).
-----------------------------
I hope this helps with understanding where the project is. Due to the lack of testing on other platforms, I am a little scared to update the release date.
If you are not following the game on Steam, please feel free to do so on the store page.
And as always, thank you for all the help and support. - Prateek
Update on Broken Laptop
Hi Folks,
Thank you all who reached out to me on private chat regarding the update on the laptop situation. I have finally received a temporary use laptop for windows testing and OBS streaming on the Brocula page. So you should be able to see the live broadcast on the store page. This is a slow laptop, so not suited for any dev work. My personal (development) laptop is still broken. The missing part is a 40pin 300Hz cable that is not available here in India. I have ordered it and it should be here by March 15th. Rest of the parts are already here.
I should be able to work on my Macbook in the meantime and fix a few bugs. I will keep you guys posted on the situation along with new never seen gifs from the game like the one above.
Thank you once again for all the support - Prateek
