First of all Happy New Year!!! I hope you all are having amazing start of the year.
This is going to be a short announcement. Brocula has been invited to be a part of Capitalism and Economy Fest starting on 8th Jan and ending on 15th Jan.
If you still haven't had a chance to play the demo, this would be the perfect time to do so. And if you have already played the demo, and would like to provide some feedback, I would love to hear it.
Before I end this announcement, I would like to personally thank all the people who have covered the game in their Youtube Videos and/or Blogs. Thank you so much for the support! As a solo indie dev who has been working on this game for 4+ years, this makes me really happy.

Demo 1.0 is now 1.1
Over the past week I have seen a few streamers and Youtubers play the demo version of the game. First of all, thank you so much for the love and support. I am glad you have shown interest in this game. It also looks like there have been a few bugs. And I would like to apologise for those bugs. I have no excuses for this tbh.
I am pushing a new build for Windows, Mac and Steam Deck for those bug fixes. I cant promise if this will be the end of bugs, but I am gonna try my best to catch more of them from now on.

Updating Demo to 1.0 from 0.4
In the past month, alot of people have played the game. Whether these people have played the full version of the game (only available to playtesters) or the demo version (available to all), I have received valuable feedback from both the groups. The reason I am making this post is because I am now moving these changes from the the main game to demo version of the game. That means alot of things that have been in the close to release version of the game will now also be a part of demo build as well.
Here are the full list of things that are coming to the demo version 1.0
Added Night Light to Brocula
Fixed frame rate crashing bug on inventory full
Updated Key Colours for better accessibility
Updated volume of certain UI interactions
Added new images for Achievements
Added Brazilian Portuguese And Japanese Translations to the demo
Updated Credits to be more visible
Logs and other heavy objects will now be carried by the bats
You will also see a new logo as a part of the splash screen. I will make an official announcement for that in the coming days.

Brocula December Updates and Release Date
Hey Guys!! Hope you all are doing good. I just wanted to updated you all on a few things regarding Brocula before holidays starts.
Game Progress
I wanted the first 15 min of the game to be tutorial driven, as in even if a player does not read dialogues, the markers on the screen will tell the player where to go and what to do.
No more frame rate drop issues. I had to take a step back and re-write some of the code. (Thank you Surya for the insights on how to do that)
Localization plays an important role in the experience. The game is now localized in English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Brazilian-Portuguese, Japanese and Russian. If you want the game to be localized in a language, feel free to let me know.

Since the game is going to be launched in XBox as well, we have an XBox store page as well : Brocula on XBox
The game release date is set to 1st Feb 2024. So feel free to tell your friends and family :)
Upcoming Updates
I will be updating the demo with the above mentioned updates in a new build by end of Dec
I recently received my XBox dev kit. So, the porting process will start now.
More testing. I do want to get 100% achievement in the game, so I will be playing and testing the game even more in the coming days.

Demo 0.4 version is out now and it supports Korean!!
I just love it when the game starts getting traction from one of my fav countries. And hence the reason for this update.

Game now supports Korean along with English, Simplified Chinese, and Russian.
A soft lock bug in the coffee shop
Adding a separate fire wood menu for cooking for better visibility

Demo version 0.3 is out now!!
Over the past one month, I have seen a lot of people play Brocula's demo. And this update is for them. Thank You for all the feedback at IGDC, Discord Playtests, and Youtube videos. Your feedback has helped me with fixing a lot of bugs and making the demo even better.
Here are some of the changes in the demo that will help it make a better experience.
Added Waypoints for better navigation in the town
Added controller prompt to tell the player how to run and use map
Converted tasks into a much more linear gameplay
Coffee shop tutorials now tell the player where to go, and added ability to skip steps if the player is familiar with the gameplay
Bug fixes for colliders, now player doesnt have to go back and forth to activate crafting menu
Fixed a soft lock that used to happen when player is triggering crafting menu while running
New transfer menu for better readability
Improvements in fishing.
Players can now throw chicken into the pond. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Today is a really good day. The project that I have been working on for the past three years is not only close to release, but also completed an important milestone, 7000 Wishlists!!.

New GamePlay video is Live!!!!
Last week I updated the screenshots of the game. And today, I am showing off first 30-45 min of gameplay. The game looks polished and is in alignment with my vision. You can lose a lot of hours in the game, and grinding mechanics are addictive. This being said, here is the gameplay vid that you came for in this announcement.

More Updates to Farming!
The game now supports a chicken farm which can be unlocked by talking to the butcher! The chicken farm gives you a constant supply of eggs which can be used to earn more money.
