The waves are crashing. The wood planks are creaking. The air is thick with the smell of salt and gunpowder. Are ye ready to fight for gold and glory? We’ve set sail for the high seas with a brand new Pirate-themed update. Avast! Here’s the full breakdown of the update:
WHAT’S NEW?
The Pirate:
This new fighter will send shivers down your spine! Feared across the Seven Seas, the Pirate shows no mercy. She’s armed with no less than 5 deadly weapons: a razor-shape cutlass, a rapier, a kriegsmesser, a boarding axe, and a knife clenched between her teeth. Her arsenal makes her a formidable fighter that will send her enemies to Davy Jone’s locker!
New arena: Battle it out on the deck of the Pirate’s ship! Surrounded by the ocean, will you discover the secret of this mysterious skull-shaped cave?
New weapons variants: The update also introduces a brand-new feature: the multi-blade! You can now unlock different main weapons for each fighter:

Ahoy, warriors!
We’re thrilled to announce the new Broken Edge update that will be released next month! As you might have guessed, a new fighter will be entering the arena: the Pirate! Fight, plunder, pillage, and most importantly, vanquish your enemies! Show no mercy or walk the plank!
But there is more! We’re also adding the Multi-Blade feature. You’ll be able to choose among 3 main weapons for each fighter! It’s the perfect occasion to explore more techniques and test new Meta!
You already own Broken Edge? The good news is that you can already try the upcoming features on our Public Test Server until Friday, April 14th! More information is available on our Discord

The Viking has finally awakened! Earn your place to Valhalla by crushing your enemies with this new fighter. Slash with your sword, protect with shield, and smash with your double axes. Nothing will stand between you and glory, such is the will of the gods of the North. But there’s more! See the full breakdown of the update:
What’s new?
The Viking fighter: Inspired by the dreadful warriors from Scandinavia, the Viking has his own fighting style and set of weapons you’ll have to master.
The Viking Arena: Land on the shores of Valhalla aboard your longship!
Server selection: You can now choose your server to reduce the risk of latency.
Balancing:
Tyrant Nerf: Same Awaken values, harder to achieve.
Barbarian Buff: +10 Awaken value.
Knight Buff: Same Awaken values, easier to achieve.
Persian Buff: Blades regrow 33% faster.
Duelist adjustments: Same Awaken values, easier to achieve. Narrower pointing conditions (anti-flick).
Bug fix:
Anti-cheat: New features to avoid players to cheat on arm length.
Anti-wiggle: Improved wiggle detection, less false triggers.

Hi, warriors! We’re thrilled to announce our After-Launch Roadmap! We have plenty of new free content coming in the next few months. Hope you’re as excited as we are!
Fear the power of the North The next big update will be released on February 15th with the awakening of the fearsome Viking! Use his blade, shield and double axes to crush your enemies in the name of Odin.
Two new fighters and arenas The Viking isn’t the only swordfighter to join the Hall of Broken Edge. Two more mysterious characters will arrive before Fall 2023.
New feature: the Multi-blades Choose which blade you’ll use to slash your opponent. More information coming later!
Ranks System The Elo will give way to a ranking system! Winning fights will be more rewarding than ever. You can also join the Leagues now on our Discord!

The Forge - Public Test Server!
Want to test the Viking and other brand new contents before their official release? We’re excited to announce: The Forge! This public test version of Broken Edge is aimed to validate upcoming fighters, mechanics, balancing and other adjustments.
The Forge relies on your benevolent participation. Test, have fun, and share your feedback on Discord! This will help us craft the best game experience for you, fearsome warriors!
We’ll reach out to you on Discord when there are novelties to try out, so be sure to acquire the Blacksmith role on the platform.
The Forge is accessible now to all the Broken Edge players!
How to access The Forge?
Then click on Beta in the menu to the right of the pop up window. Select ‘’The Forge’’ in the drop-down list.
Now, you just need to update your game on Steam to play in The Forge! Select ‘’None’’ in the same menu to return to the original game later.
How to become a Blacksmith on Discord?
To share your feedback, you can earn the Blacksmith role on our official Discord server. To do so, join the community and click on the emoji in the #blacksmith-self-role channel! You now have unlocked a new section where you can access our latest Forged announcements and leave all your comments!

Patch 1.1.1 is live!
Welcome to the patch 1.1.1 that concludes 2022! To prepare for the new year we are fixing some features and adding tools to identify the origin of the latency issue. We can assure you, we are working hard on it to guarantee that only your skills will lead you to victory!

Balancing Tyrant The Tyrant is a formidable fighter… but he deserves to become even more frightful! Buff: + 10 awaken
Knight We may have overbuffed the Knight during the last update! Time to blunt his blade a little bit. Nerf: Threshold to maintain awaken becomes more demanding
Integration of latency (ping) investigation tools To fight against the lagging problem, we’re implementing tools to identify the reasons behind this issue. We’ll be able to collect additional games’ data and analyze them in order to fix the latency as soon as possible!
Calibration Players can no more artificially extend their arms during the calibration phase. That will help to prevent cheating or trolling tactics.
ELO Improvement We modified the Elo so it won’t become negative but stop at 0. Every player above 2500 Elo will be reset to 2500 Elo. We made some adjustments to the rating algorithm. These changes will affect matches with a high Elo difference. This means that the amount of points you gain/lose will be way more affected by the Elo difference between you and your opponent than before.
