In occasion for the Steam Shoot 'em Up fest, we have decided to release a small content patch for Bullet Casters. While this update focuses mostly on new stages, we plan to bring many balancing and QoL improvements in the future updates based on the feedback on our Discord Channel and the Steam Discussion page.
UPDATES
- Introduced a new area: Paloma Lakes - Introduced 5 new stages in the Paloma Lakes area - Introduced a new boss fight. - Introduced new battle themes for the Favill and Torden boss fights.
We hope you enjoy these new challenges.
As a reminder, the game is currently on 25% sale! If you like Bullet Casters, consider recommending it to your friends ;D
Bullet Casters has been selected to be featured in the OTK Games Expo, and to celebrate this event we are releasing a small patch with some new content and fixes.
The OTK Games Expo is an event featuring many cool upcoming indie games that will be hosted on Asmongold's Twitch channel today, June 10th.
UPDATES
Content:
- Introduced a new boss fight: Guforobo [FEROX].
Balancing:
- Ella's (boss) 2nd and 4th phase have been slightly nerfed. - The magic circles that fire downwards in Ella's (boss) have been changed to be more distinguishable from the aimed ones. - Buffed the Ocho attack option: its fire-rate now increases the further the option is from the player.
Fixes:
- Fixed an issue with the attack options sometimes not firing when the attack button is pressed when the level starts. - Xbox buttons are now displayed in the game UI when connecting a gamepad. Note that because of an issue that happens only when running the game on Steam if the controller is already connected when starting the game the buttons displayed will still be the PC ones. We are going to fix this issue with an upcoming minor patch. - Made Favill's (playable character) bullets less transparent.
That is all for this update, take care!
Update V0.8004
- Updated some temporary translations. - Fixed text size scaling in some instances. - Fixed Gems number text overlapping with the Gem sprite in the Level Selection.
This should be the last localisation-related update for a while. The next ones are going to contain balancing updates and maybe new features/stages ;)

Big Updates and ESA Winter demo!
Hello everyone! It has been a while since our last devlog on Steam, during this time we have been working a lot on improving Bullet Casters and we can't wait to show you more.

- the visuals have been deeply reworked: old assets have been updated to make the colors more coherent, new animations have been added to characters, bullets and enemies and the UI has been completely redrawn.
- While the multiplayer mode will still be present, lately we moved the focus on the single player mode. It will now feature a story that you can go through as each of the 4 playable characters and more than 70 stages packed with many different monsters and boss-fights.
- The soundtrack of the game has been completely remade by Dominic Ninmark (Gravity Circuit, Blazing Chrome, Mighty Goose, Rival Megagun and more).

New Demo available now!
Hello everyone! Coconzilla here. I am glad to announce that today an updated version of the Bullet Casters Demo is available!
DEMO UPDATES
CHARACTER SELECTION IN CHALLENGE MODE
Originally we planned to develop the challenges of Bullet Casters to be played with a specific character, since for some of the levels you would really have to make full use of a certain Bullet Caster's unique ability. Though thanks to the players' feedback we realized that most challenges would actually be fun and balanced with every fighter, Despite their extremely different shooting styles.
By pressing the Focus Button in the Challenge Mode menu it's now possible to switch between the 4 characters (except for the "Tutorial" challenge) here is a short overview of each of them:
Ella Balanced character with a shooting style that requires good precision but has very high single-target damage output. Her special ability changes whether you are pressing the Focus button or not.
Favill Beginner-friendly character that can easily deal with multiple enemies at the same time and doesn't require precise positioning. His damage against single targets is not as high as that of the other Bullet Casters. His special ability creates a small sun that deals high damage over time in an area, very useful to get past the opponents' defenses.
Hana Technical character with high damage potential against both single and multiple targets. Her base attack can either shoot energy blades or be charged up to make Hana dash and slash all the enemies in her path. Her special ability allows her to place a portal that she can teleport to, which can be useful for escaping dangerous situations but also to reach enemies faster.
Torden Extravagant character that shoots electric bullets from the two drums spinning around him. You can press the Focus Button to stop the drums rotation, allowing you to hit enemies from any point of the battle-field. His special, not usable in Focus Mode, can be activated by pressing the Special Attack Button when his two drums are overlapping, and it generates a powerful thunder that penetrates the monsters' defenses.
VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS
these are some visual improvements we added since the last demo:
- Made custom sprites for each character's name. - Increased feedback when enemies get hit. - Improved explosion when enemies are defeated. - Added animation when mana is picked in Duel Mode. - Made Favill's bullets less distracting.
As for the last demo, we would love to hear your feedback about the demo! You can use the "Send Feedback" and "Report Bug" in the game's main menu to write to us, and if you want to talk directly to the devs you can join our Discord server with this link:
That's all from me, I hope you have fun trying the demo!
